The first time I watched this movie I was absolutely astounded that nobody (including Bella's cop father) thought that Edward was abusive.
Forget the bite mark, all of her injuries at the end look like domestic abuse to an outside observer. Literally, Bella went on a date with Edward, came back from it extremely upset and insisted that she had to leave home. Then a few days later Edward basically carries her, unconscious and absolutely beat to shit, back into town, claiming that she fell down the stairs and through a window.
How does everyone not immediately assume that he attacked her???

What astonished me the most about Twilight is how pale Bella is. I mean my God, she's even paler than the vampires. I can only assume that is why she says and does a lot of stupid things, because of the severe anemia and the lack of blood going to her brain.

It's possibly the worst trend in movies of the past 10-15 years. Half of all Hollywood movies have to have a blue-green filter on them. Once you notice them, you can't unsee them. I have NO clue why directors think these annoying digital filters in any way improve the movies they make.

I read the book when it started to get steam amongst the general public. I got up to the point where Edward admitted he was a vampire, and Bella's initial reaction was- not disbelief, not skepticism, not thinking Edward was crazy or joking- but to accept it without question. And that's where I stopped.

Bella has no backstory outside of reading books because that way all the teen girls reading the book will relate to her. Reading is the only trait that the writers could guarantee the people READING a book would have so outside of that she is a boring blank slate swept into a world any young girl would want to be in.

I was around 13 when this got big (HUGE TEAM JACOB PRE-TEEN). Looking back at it now I'm equal parts disgusted and happy for myself, I was a dumb ass kid but I met a lot of awesome people who will eventually hate this piece of shit along with me for years to come. One thing is for sure, I learned to do better when I got older regarding what a healthy relationship even is.

So let me get this straight about the Vampires in the Twilight universe. They don't burn in sunlight, they sparkle. They can't turn into bats or have any sort of sharp-shirting abilities whatsoever, nor do they feast upon the blood of the living? How are these Vampires exactly?
And they're made of stone
He is very pale and doesn't sleep and eat and can jump and move decently decent, plus he's always depressed and edgy and skinny and has a bit more strength than the normal Human.
He doesn't have that many good traits and skills and he's absolutely nothing compared to a real Vampire, which doesn't turn into a bat but can fly and teleport and has enough strength to lift up and move around several Tonnes and they can also bypass immortality and can hurt other monsters very easily and they can only be killed by cutting off their head but even then that doesn't work for the Alpha since he's actually immortal and has a Hundred times more strength than even the most powerful Vampires and can take out even the strongest creatures even other slightly weaker Alphas.
They are more Fey than Vampires.
To be fair, Robert Pattinson may have taken like a decade, but he’s finally becoming a bat... of sorts...

I'm going to be honest. I LOVED the movies and the books when they came out. I think I was about 13-14 when they came out and I never liked reading before I red Twilight and after I was hooked. It took me like a week to read the book (and I was a slow reader). At that time I was emotionally in a place were I wanted to be rescued so I conected to the movies and the books. Now I can see that it wasn't as good as I remember it but it still is a guilty plessure for me because it was so important to me when I was a teen and it made me want to write stories of my own. I guess, what I'm trying to say is that depending on how your life is and where you are emotionally Twilight can be good and give hope. When you're out of that state then you can see it for what it is.

The books I think was aimed at young audience .. like when I read twilight at 15, I loved it to be honest .,, to me, as a huge harry potter fan it was another magical world .frgt the romance but the thing abt vamps living among muggles.. I too wanted to be a vampire ..with vampire family and turning into a vamp myself with supercool superpowers!! it was such good deal...
flash forward 10yrs... am like ..damn man you guys are right. Supernatural did a good episode about modern Vampire shows, movies, and books portraying vampires as romantic. The vampires in the episode were using that portrayal to seduce women and lead them back to the vampire nest. Once back to the nest the girl was like "Does your room have velvet?" at which point the vampires proceeded to rip her throat out and drink her.
