I tried this, and it showed the result of two sequential loads. However, I am trying to model different loads applied to the same sample. I divided the sample into five surfaces, and I applied a load to each surface. The results, however, show discontinuities in the deformation. I want all five surfaces to react as one continuous surface. Please help me
sir i want to apply a triangular load of 500N as max load and min of 200N and i want the load to increase by 500N after 500 cycles for the next 500 cycles and so on(i.e 500N for 1st 500 cycles 1000N for 500-1000 cycle, 1500N for 1000-1500 cycles and so on) until the beam fails using xfem method. can you please help me with this
It will depend on the problem definition. If gravity is needed and it will have some impact during the analyses, similar to dropping an object then you can create a separate step. All depends on the problem.
Professor,I also have to apply two set of loading protocol. First of all speciment is loaded by force control and it is followed by displacement control method. Do i have to apply both load in same step?
This will depend on the problem. If in actual problem loads are applied simultaneously then they should be. However, if there isn’t complex interaction of loads and material properties then it can be in multiple stops.
@@Professor3MEC thank you very much for video, Sorry for late response I missed the notification.... I would like to explain load case.... I want to replicate actual test condition- In actual test 30 m/S2 accleration load is applied on component during the Sinusoidal amplitude of 10,20,40,80,160Hz changing every minute for total 20mins. How can I define the load case on Abaqus
@@popat10171 using the approach shown in this tutoria you can create any cyclic function (through excel or matlab in tabular form or use abaqus built in functions) and apply as amplitude. all the best
Thank you Prof for this beautiful lecture. Sir I am trying to model rutting behaviour of asphalt concrete. My reference paper requires that I apply an 80Kg load using 10 steps for a cycle (0.01 secs) for 10,000 cycles using dynamic explicit step in 100sec. Pls prof can you enlighten me on how to go about applying such.
using the approach presented in this tutorial, I think it should be manageable. However, if you coming across specific problem then please do let me know.
Standard and implicit in my opinion are similar and hence can’t be used interchangeably without going into the details of nitty gritty. Implicit is unconditionally stable. Implicit schema is incremental as well as iterative. However, the explicit schema is only incremental. Choice is very much dependent on problem , memory, disk space, etc.

Professor do we need to create step for gravity load before creating load step for cyclic loading?

Thank u for explaination. Can u please help with different Acceleration as cyclic load. 1 to 10 to 1 G load increment every 1mins. Total 20min
Will try! is it like gravity load on a moving object? or on a fixed object.

Professor, if you are using cyclic loading which is time dependent loading, then why dont you choose dynamic implicit instead of general step here?

Sir please upload a video of buckling of solid cylinder during compression
Will try! Please keep an eye on the upcoming videos. One will be your request.
