      Fils probably going to have good results with clay and slow hard court. Will probably not have as good results on fast HC and grass for now because of his full western forehand grip. Was pretty obvious in Paris Bercy. I hope he can adapt in the future.

      @rhoclouds Рік тому

      bit of exaggeration, no? while i do agree that fils is very athletic, the margin you’re suggesting is too much. he beat them by a good amount on the last test, but other than that it was fairly close. not to mention this is a poor experiment. lack of repetition and multiple trials = more room for error.

      @renobutters Рік тому +5

      Yes I noticed the same. I guess that's why he scored much better. But technically maybe that's how he plays as well. It also shows he's willing to improvise to beat the score 😇 (disclaimer: I'm French. But I don't know him at all 😋)

      Work smarter not harder. The point is to get to the ball as fast as possible before the double bounce. Fils did it the fastest & deserved to win. Take the frown elsewhere.

    As soon the first 10 second even started I was like Fils gonna win everything. He is a gifted athlete. Michellesen has a serve and does not need this shite. They need to get Gael Monfils in here, my favourite athlete. And Alcaraz. And Dimitrov. And 19 year old Nadal. Everybody else can stay at home unless they want consolation prizes.

  • @blucat4
    @blucat4 Рік тому +13

    That was surprisingly fun. These kids are sooo slow!!! If you saw a Hewitt or a Nadal or Monfils (in their prime) do that 10m sprint it wouldn't be close. Only on the last one did they do pretty well. Anyway good luck to them all.

    • @got2bjosh
      @got2bjosh Рік тому +1

      The point isn't just to jump super high. This isn't track hurdles. It's to maintain proper verticality & balance in your body for successful overhead smashes. Fils was the most vertical & jumped the highest.

    • @got2bjosh
      @got2bjosh Рік тому +2

      @@cutie.patootie21211 Don't lump young Alex in with the far more agile US tennis greats from tennis history. Later years aside, Serena was fast on the court even after her knee injury. Drop shot at your own peril. Even now, Shelton, Paul, & Tiafoe are much better movers than Alex, but the kid is growing into his body & hasn't matured physically yet like Fils has.
      Before court homogenization favoring Eurasian players & leading to the rise of the Big 3, USA dominated tennis on both the ATP & WTA tours. Now, that they're making the courts faster, looking to reduce ever-increasing average length of matches, & are looking to change balls more frequently, big serving & more net play is back. American tennis is experiencing a promising renaissance (as is Italy).

      Absolute hot garbage footwork & that's why he lost all three of his RR matches. The worst performer in the tournament. Who was he competing against to reach 97 in the rankings & qualify for this event? Mochi didn't qualify but after Tokyo, he would've had a better showing than Alex. Footwork is #1 thing to work on in the off season. #2 is Alex's serve. When he doesn't hit his targets, it's not threatening. He also needs more muscle.

      Tennis got much more diverse after the Williams sisters exploded onto the scene in the late 90s. They're why we now have so many black & multiracial stars on both tours. Shelton, Fils, FAA, Diallo, Pegula, Osaka, & Keys are all mixed race. Li Na's success brought in more Chinese players. Jabeur's success is galvanizing investment into more players from Arab countries. A rising tide lifts all boats. Love to see it.
