- Want to succeed in your TEFL Skype interview? This video will help. Seasoned recruiters Zach and Indi conduct hundreds of Skype interviews every week, and they would like to share with you some of their advice on what makes a successful TEFL interview.
In this video, you'll learn the basics in setting up a perfect TEFL interview profile. Everything from names, and email addresses, to what to wear and where to sit.
TEFL interviews should be relaxed and fun. The interviewer want's to get to know the person behind the screen. They need to see if you would be a good fit for the classroom. Don't worry, you don't need to be an expert, but you must take the interview seriously!

Will you always be told before the interview if you have to teach a small lesson to the interviewer?
How early should you apply? I graduate in May 2018, is too early to apply for a position in the in june?
Its sad that they havent replied by now. But from what Ive read that would be a good time. But its also good to look into how long it may take for your school to actually get your degree to you. I've head the bigger hiring time in China starts around February. If you have time it would be good to get a Tefl, I plan to .

Hi just a question. You said that you might have to do a demo lesson. However, I was not told to prepare for this beforehand. Should I still prepare just in case they may ask me to do a demo lesson? I am aware they may also ask me questions like: What activities would you do for gerunds?

It's always a good idea to be overly prepared incase you are asked to do a demo in your interview :) Our recruiters will guide you through this process though, so you don't have to worry too much about it, but having an idea of what knowledge or skills you would like to showcase is good.

What should be expected for the interview?
Hi, quick question, i've read in the comments bellow that demo classes are not required anymore, is this statement true, and if so, how else can the recruiters check my abilities?

How much information is the candidate given regarding the demo lesson topic or activity type? How much prep time is afforded? Anybody home?

Do you ask theoretical aspects of teaching during interviews?
Hi Onyii, we don't usually ask specific questions about the theoretical aspects. However, in the demo, we like to see some techniques used that encompass some of the theory. If the interviewee doesn't use any of these techniques, the interviewer may offer some advice, and then a section of the demo will be repeated to see how well the interviewee responds to instructions. How long should the demo lesson be?
Hi Thina, from January onwards, we will no longer be conducting demos in our interviews. At the moment though, the demo lesson should be between 5 to 10 minutes.
