Awesome Video
I have a question: Did the curse from Demise create the Gerudo people or did they exist before then?
There's something about Ganondorf getting distracted by a fishing rod like a cat being teased with a dangling toy that absolutely kills me.
G: Ok, whatever trickery you're trying to pull here, it's not going to work. I don't care if you have a *CANNON* built into that thing, because I'm keeping an eye on it.
Yeah, kind of the same here.
@@Attaxalotl LEL - Noble of Lost Pause.
Exactly what came to my mind as well.

Lol, you made me day.😂😂😂. So accurate!!!😅😅😅

Don't you mean this?

Yes
If I remember correctly, using the bow against Ghirahim only results in the arrows bouncing off his chest. However, if you upgrade it to the sacred bow, he will instead use his phase-dodge to avoid the arrows. It's a neat little detail that shows his repulsion to holy power. I need to play the game again and check to see if it's actually there.
I wonder how Demise and Ganon feel when they see a kid that's just half his size pull out a net (or a bottle) and with the most straightest face say, "come at me."
Gods 😂
There's a reason he got the Triforce of Courage.

Oh the irony of Demise/Ganondorf's line.
Dang it! I wanna up vote this comment, but it's at 69 up votes!
Lmao
IMO the best Easter egg in Skyward Sword is the mysterious hand in Skyloft that references Majora's Mask toilet hand.
The toilet hand is the hand that's sealing Ganondorf in BOTW2. You heard it here first
zombiemaan123 it is also the creepiest.
The hand also appears in Oracle of Ages as part of the trading side quest
Its a Japanese joke that the 3rd toilet on the 3rd floor of a school is haunted by Hanako. Look up toilet no hanakochan and you can get some good info

Well he succeeded, quite literally considering how much that part made my game lag. But it was very fun.
I honestly think everyone lagged at that part. Was really pushing the Wii's hardware to the limits.

There is one that you missed that I kinda speculated myself:
In the boss arena for Ghirahim's second phase, there are two white birds on each side near the enterance to the Red Sacred Flame. I think that it is a sepculation of how the old Surface Dwellers predicted what the Loftwings Looked like & that Hylia probably flew on a white loftwing.
Isnt skyward sword the game that first happened in the timeline?

Yes but people lives on the surface before they went into the sky after the war

This is one of my favourite Zelda games and I'm sad about the hate that it gets. Great video as always! Edit: Also, every single dungeon in SS is incredible- SS represents the pinnacle of dungeon-making in the Zelda series IMO
If only it was released on the switch with better motion controls now that will be a different story
Although I pretty sure people did like SWS but they didn't like the wiis motion controls, I did enjoy it but there are only a few of us that did
This was the first zelda game I ever played, and i recently went back and played it a second time because i remember it being do fun. It was more fun the second time because I was better at the puzzles and the motion controls.
Man I loved it too. The motion controls worked good, but it would definitely be way more refined now with the switch. They should do a solid remake with the new controllers
Liz same i love SWS and I almost beat the game until my ex deleted my save file, then I lost motivation. I’ve been telling my brother that I would love if they remade SWS and TP on the switch with motion controls with the joycons or maybe even have an option where you choose if you want motion controls or play normally.
@@blazeykin3780 yeah, I actually enjoy the wii motion controls for SS, though I understand I'm in the minority. When I played SS for the first time, I remember also hating the controls but it turned out my wii motion plus remote was defective and as soon as I switched to a new one, it was smooth sailing! It is challenging to learn the swordplay at first, but I really love the unique challenge and I find it makes the game more immersive (even though some people find the opposite to be true)
"Battlefield of Demise" sounds more like the initial theme in ALTTP, the one when Link has to find his way to get into the Hyrule Castle under the rain
no, it doesn't.
Yes I heard it the same way.
@@mailliw94 you're wrong. It sounds exactly like it
the alttp storm theme and the ganon theme are actually very similar, if not nearly the same in some parts.
Oh hey Rukeke lol
Demise: I fear no man,
Demise: But that... *thing*
(Bug Net)
Demise: … It scares me
Ha! I laughed
'No man nor demon' 😁
Ganon: i fear no man
Ganon: but that thing...
(Fishing rod)
Ganon: it scares me
Thats LOZTPs ganon lol
I remember I had it when it was released but now it’s lost in the depths of time. It’s really a underrated game
I still have it :)
Playing it on an Emulator is a pain though as pairing the Wii Remote with a Dolphin bar is finicky. Not in the mood to replay it I guess. Still love the game.
What emulator you use (for wii games) and works decently? Or is there only one option still.... Its been so long since I moded my old wii it sure would be a nice throwback
My disk got scratched to oblivion
I still have it
@@gioxenit
Yes Dolphin is still the only option. HOWEVER there is a Chinese build called Ishiruka which I've been told it can be better for more limited setups. can't personally vouch for that though
Purchasing a Dolphin bar for Skyward Sword is required since Bluetooth is inherently laggy for Motion Plus Wii Remotes ($20 for a sensor bar isn't too steep if you already have motion plus Wii Remotes)
What type of CPU & GPU do you have? As well as RAM
Ganondorfs Theme was even interpretation of one of a link to the past songs: "priest of the dark order"
Vinzenz Ochsner came here to say this
I KNEW i remembered it from alttp
"Interpretation" being a fancy word for "literally the same theme" lol
@@TheGameCreator13 it's an interpretation because it's not literally the same. it's a different song with a different name and different qualities to it. their similarity is what makes one an interpretation of the other. they are NOT literally the same. interpretation is not the same word as inspiration. I think you may be getting the two confused. of course it's a fucking interpretation. that's how that word functions. that's what it MEANS.
@@mailliw94 Chill. I'm mostly joking. I know what OP means haha
Skyward Sword is so underrated, my second ever Zelda game. Groose is the GOAT
I'm pretty sure it's bad reputation just comes from a loud vocal minority, while the people who love it are just afraid to say it 'cause they think they'll get verbally assaulted. It holds a 93% on Metacritic with an 8.1/10 for the user scores.
@@SirPonnd Exactly this lmao perfect
It's one of my absolute favorite Zelda games, loved the songs, the dungeons, the characters, and overall aesthethics, but should they remake this game for the switch, they should definitely make changes, like improve the Wii motion controls, improve on the visuals, tone down Fi's hand holding, make is so everytime you start up the game and pick up rupees, you see the prompt everytime etc
@@IorekB92 Did you mean to say "DON'T see the prompt every time"?
music is what makes it my favourite
Link: *put bug net over Demise’s head* *looks at Zelda* Ma look! I caught a demon! :D
Hey ma, *MA*
link shouldnt be bugging demise with a net especially by deflicting a lightning beam back at him with it
Achachak Nice Jacksepticeye reference. That one’s an oldie!
@@saygerow I know it was probably unintentional, but... *bugging* him? Eh? Eh?
I acknowledge the fact that I am unamusing and will thenceforth take my leave.
@@achachak133 Just like Hanakin Sidewalker said (just with sort of other words): That's a nice reference to Sean William McLoughlin/jacksepticeye (as annoying as it is the official channel has a small "j" rather than a big one) and his good ol' days.
"Skyward Sword's soundtrack, despite being forgettable in some parts -" are you joking?!?!? It has the best soundtrack of anything I've ever heard in my LIFE!
Another musical reference that is very often missed : the second part of Skyview Temple's theme, with the escalading notes, remind of Ganon's theme's escalading part ;)
Happy to see Skyward Sword content!
I also like how the Dragon spirit thing Lanayru is the one you have to help recover, just like Naydra in BotW, even though the other two are fine
That's because the connection highlights Hylia/Zelda/Wisdom being the taintable aspect, 'wisdom' being a hinge upon which success for 'courage' against 'power' hangs upon.
Kid with a frail wooden stick comes by: "Ha! You're pathetic worm!" Casually knocks back powerful lightning attack with net: "HOW?!"
Link: honestly, I don't know myself.
I mean, if I were an all powerful evil entity and my powers were casually knocked away via a bug net, I think it would scar all my future incarnations into distraction.
@@DrTimes99 Ganon: *Looks at Link and has Vietnam flashbacks to Demise getting killed by the net.*
That net is obviously bugged
Cringe
Skyward sword is really slept on. I need to replay it sometime
I knew about distracting Demise with the bug net, but I didn't know it could reflect the sword beams! That's hilarious
Wow, Love how you're showing so much love for the game as well as the interesting facts.
My favorite reference is ??? from Majora's Mask, the hand coming out of the toilet. That one always manages to crack me up 😂
I love that you went into great detail about the songs of SS! Would you ever want to do a video of your Top 10 favorite Zelda songs? Or you could do multiple videos of Top 5-10 from each game!
Just a thought.
So you mean next year is not just the 35th Anniversary Of Zelda but also the 10th anniversary of Skyward Sword....man time flies
Also marking 10 years of me involved with zelda
Lumpy Pumpkin I loved that place 😭 I need a remake of this game on the switch so bad
Nintendo delivers :D
You’re in luck
The 25th anniversary of the loftwing race I knew was a nod to 25 years of Zelda. I never knew the 16 suffix was a reference to SS being the 16th game. The music comparisons always amaze me.
Skyward sword is my favorite zelda game so far. I love everything about it. It’s sad that people hate it :(
Skyward sword deserves more love 💞
Never heard of anyone outright hating it
It’s one of my favorites too
Yeah, it’s soooo good, the only bad thing is the motion controls, but like barely, and the music and story is really good too, it’s an overall great game
@@copyrightstrike4666 Then you dont get around much. I dont hate the whole game, but the beginning. Skyward Sword has an ABYSMALLY slow beginning. Its a giant, way too long tutorial that seems to be made for 5 year old kids. Every shit gets explained a dozend times. And every story element gets repeated over and over again. How often do you hear about that damn "Wing Ceremony" in the first hour? 80 times?
The mid and later game is fine. The slow beginning is the problem.
Who else thinks Skyward Sword is, despite popular belief, a pretty damn good Zelda title? Not the best, but definitely not the worse.
It is by no means "bad". Personally it was one of the Zeldas i was the most excited for upon release and I enjoyed it. Most of the community doesn't think it fits in with the rest of the titles because of stupid nitpicks like a lack of day-night cycle, link's facial design, its creation of the timeline, etc.
If anything, BotW fits the least into the series of all the mainline titles because of its inclusion of a vast open world, weapon condition, usage of non-sword weapons, questing system, etc.But by no means did that stop the game from getting the most praise of any title since OoT. SS is simply the Nickelback of the Zelda series. People love to hate it for dumb reasons even tho it's really pretty good overall
I agree, except I'd probably rate it higher than you. It went in the opposite direction to what most fans wanted at the time (which was basically BotW) but an open-world Zelda wouldn't have been remotely possible on the Wii, and Skyward Sword pulled off what it was actually trying to do expertly, except for the annoying hand-holding. While I love BotW's open world, I also love Skyward Sword's linear world because it offers the most tightly designed dungeon-style gameplay (even outside of dungeons) in the series.
By the way, people always say Nintendo suddenly created the Zelda timeline in 2011 after never caring about it previously, but that's completely untrue. There were so many developer quotes, as well as clues in the games themselves, that showed they were always aware of at least the general structure of the timeline. I'd say they came up with the "Decline Timeline" idea a good many years before they revealed it.
I agree. It’s in my top 3 Zelda games. (I’ve only played a couple but still it’s in the top 3)
@@murdokdracul Yeah i totally agree. It's definitely in my top 10, maybe even 5, and yeah for what they could do on the wiis hardware they really threw in the whole pantry. Even though i do really BotW, when i think back to what the game represents, its just this huge turning point for the series as a whole and i hope after BotW2 is over with that they go back to the traditional zelda style with linear stories, minimal side questing, and our wholesome, expressive, sword weilding hero in green clad. People will say that nintendo cant do that because it will seem "boring" and "basic" in comparison. I beg very dearly to differ. The zelda format is what REALLY drew me into the series, had it been like BotW, i can't really say the same.
As for the timeline, yeah of course it was an idea for quite some time, even as far back as OoT and possibly sooner, but OoT at the latest. People should chill with the idea that there was never a general direction nintendo wanted to head in. Clearly they didn't think it 100% through, since they are even now changing the orientation of it, but it they obviously had a direction before it was officially announced. People just come up with reasons to complain about stuff that is unnecessary to complain about
Skyward Word is my #1 Zelda game
I think the only flaw is the rather... flawed story. Everythong else seems to play perfectly. Sure it's painfully linear, but the idea of each area being like a temple in and of itself, requiring puzzles and quick thinking to open up the locations more and more is one of the many things I love about Skyward Sword. That, and the temples themselves.
I'll always love being able to distract Ganondorf with the fishing rod in Twilight Princess and Demise with the bug net in Skyward Sword.
There's just something about how anticlimactic they are that make them hilarious.
Oh, I am so going to try that bugnet on Demise the next time I get to him. Good thing I'm currently playing Skyward Sword again anyway.
holy crap, you can reflect Demise's lightning attack with your bug net??!!
You learn something new every Zeltik video, keep it up, Zeltik!
I thought the sound from the moblin horns at the end of Skyward Sword sounded like King Bulblin blowing the horn in Twilight Princess
I was really surprised that this one wasnt in here - the rare red loftwing that belongs to link is the origin of the red bird on the hylian shield. It's a really easy one to miss, but always present.
I didn’t know you could bounce back Demise’s beams with the bug net. I’ll have to try that sometime.
I always thought the LD part of the serial code number stood for Lightning Dragon but I guess Lanayru Dessert is plausible too.
That could work and I always thought that the 16 was a reference to the adult like being 16 in ocarina of time
it is hilarious but of course it would be a distraction! who would expect their opponent to pull out a bug net in the middle of the confrontation? i dont blame demise here 😂
Dude, I didn't know you could reflect Demise's lightning beams with the bugnet! I only knew he wouldn't attack me while I was swinging it infront of his nose XD And I completed SS 100% and watched countless videos on it! Man, the bugnet really makes the final battle easy if you can just wait for Demise sawinging his lightning beam at you and bouncing it back at him with the net
Starts watching Chuggaaconroys Lp of Skyward sword

The bamboo island theme was one of the best songs from Skyward Sword and it was pushed deep into my mind because of how long ago I played it
Skyward Sword is my favourite Zelda ever, always in my heart!
Me too. I have many memories with it
same here, but mainly thanks to Master Mode
The Demise music also sounds like the beginning of the song of storms, which is fitting as he turned the sky stormy!
what if demise’s consciousness escaped the master sword when it was damaged in botw and that’s why Fi could speak to Zelda
I think that link dies Demise comes back (due to the damaged sword) and Zelda has to team up with Ganondorf to fight demise.
@@FierceDeity35 That's just stupid.
@@manueljaramillo2520 to be honest that would seem weird since Ganondorf was created because of the curse of Demise. I just think Botw 2 will be with Ganon as a final boss...
@@manueljaramillo2520 Do you understand that it's a joke, right?
I don’t think they would do this BUT it would be cool
What a nice coincidence, I just dusted off and set up my Wii U this morning in order to revisit this game for the first time in many years :D
Battlefield of Demise sounds specifically like the music from the very beginning to alttp (which I admittedly never realized is a variation of Ganon’s theme)
Daniel Thrash if we wanna get technical I’d personally call it a variation of Aghanim’s theme (which would be repurposed into Ganon’s theme for OoT and beyond)
The merchant who sells shields in the bazaar is actually a reference to The Happy Mask Salesman. Down to his actions and grin.

Thank you Zeltik, this is my favorite game and your the only big Zelda channel that doesn't bash it. You did miss a pretty big Easter egg though. Both the characters of Parella and Yerbal say the infamous "It's a secret to everyone" line.
Another easter egg, I think that when Link kill Demise with the master sword, its like one of the medaillon of a Link to the past (the jump, sword in the sky, lightning hiting it and slashing in the ground)!
Giriham’s theme is the best boss theme imo. The soundtrack for SS is absolutely gorgeous
if i knew you could use the bug net to reflect demise's skyward strikes, i would've prob beat him by now, i raged at the boss fight but i never knew of this, so if i find my nunchuck and wii motion plus + remote, i'll defiantly give it a try XD

I don't really care what anyone says. Skyward Sword is a celebration of all things Zelda, and I love it. I love it so much.
I adore this series. Every game feels SO different, but there are references, themes, and iconography that connect them into one cohesive journey.
Awesome video Zeltik!
Underrated Game!!
Nah, one of the worst zelda games to date. It was a chore throughout, empty and utterly repetitive. Compared to what it goes up against, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Link's Awakening, Wind Waker and so on, it is such a weak and forgettable title.
Tho, it is still miles better than that CD-I trash and overall, it is an okay game, but not a good zelda game.
Oehr64 Link’s Awakening doesn’t do anything better than Skyward Sword. Plus we can’t forget the strongest dungeon lineup in the series, strong boss fights, and a great, engaging, and memorable story
As I said, not all is bad about the game. My main complaints are Fi (annoying handholding piece of rust), utterly bad pacing (e.g. dowsing, cutscenes containing Fi, stupid menial tasks that feel like filler content), empty worlds (desert was good tho!), lackluster sidequests and so on. Items, controls, dungeons were good.
Also, LA contains great dungeons, a good story that departs from the Zelda formula, good pacing, an interesting and full world, a fantastic trading quest and so on. To me, SS doesn't evem come close to most other zelda titles. Obv those arent perfect either (e.g. tww triforce quest is a chore!), but still a lot better imo (there are other weak zelda titles roughly on par with SS, such as Phantom Hourglas)
just wanna say, i used your video when I study. funnily enough, your voice combine with a very articulated naration makes it easier for me to concentrate on my study. its kind of similar to asmr, but more because the constant pitch you used makes it... kind of nice i guess? lol but hey, i got great score AND a great zelda's related info from you (all your videos are really top notch!)

anywho, love your videos! thanks for being my study patner haha😆
The most underrated game of all time
haha.
Wish I had a wiimote so I could emulate it. God I miss this game
I agree that it gets criticized a little too harshly. I have a suspicion that if it were made without motion controls it would be much more fondly remembered. People complain about backtracking, I loved that you get to revisit some dope areas, all the gods they show really help add to the lore and we have some great characterization for characters like Zelda and groose. I've seen people say the sky is really bare of anything to do and while I agree, no Zelda game has been really known for that. The great sea was relatively bare, hyrule field as well. Overall I think its fantastic and while its not in my top 5 zelda games, nonetheless it is fantastic and is absolutely deserving of more praise.
yes and no personally i prefer OoT but it’s not really that underrated
Xenoblade x is better
Zeltik, you deserve so much credit. I’m a huge Zelda fan but you manage to link (no pun intended!) so many themes together it just blows my mind... keep up the good work my man. Love how deep and thought provoking your videos are!
Your narrative and tone is also on point 👌

The hand in the toilet from Oracle of Ages! That brought me such joy, although in SS you don't get to give it to someone to get their sense of smell back.

That rendition of Ganon's theme during Demise's monologue is probably one of my mos favorite parts of Skyward Sword, it gives me the chills EVERY TIME AUGH, SOOOoooo EPIC AAAAAAAAaaaHHHhhh
We need a remaster of this game it's one of the best Zelda games
Great video as always dude! Loved the Did You Know Gaming vid too!
Who wants a remake of skyward sword for the switch. I do.
I'm downnnn
With traditional controls. Hell yes. I don’t understand why Nintendo won’t do SS along with WW and TP. It’s easy money for them.
@@songoku9348 honestly though, and also the only reason i could see nintendo not putting TP and WW on switch is because they already have remakes but still, they deserve to be on switchhh
Maybe they are waiting for 35th anniversary which is next year. A bit like what they are doing with all the Mario remakes that are coming soon.
I want TP and WW as well
Zeltik: There are some very well known Easter eggs, like the ballad of the goddess being Zelda's lullaby in reverse
Me: HOW DID I NOT KNOW THIS
I must admit, I half expected Zeltik to say Demise was the most iconic villain
Ganon and Demise are the same person with the same memories, and here's the proof:
READ ALL OF IT!!!!
Demise says "I will rise again" after cursing link (not "my hatred will rise again", But "I will rise again"), Ganondorf had the same hair and eyes as Demise when he burst from the rubble of the castle in ocarina of Time, the oil painting flashback scene in Skyward Sword shows Demise in a form that's eerily similar to dark beast Ganon in breath of the wild, and Zelda says that dark beast Ganon is "a pure embodiment of the ancient evil that is reborn time and time again.", Demise and Ganondorf have identical faces, theme music, and speech patterns, and Ganondorf even quoted part of the Demise's curse in twilight princess, (which he only could have known if he was the one who cast it), Ganon somehow knew about (and how to defeat or resurect) the ancient dragon volvagia, the Deku tree, and Jabu-jabu in Ocarina of time, maybe because he met them as Demise long ago, Koloktos and the cursed bokoblins from skyward sword are filled with malice identical to Ganon's malice in BOTW, the wound on Ganondorf's chest in twilight princess is identical to the one on Demise's forhead (which was caused as the imprisoned by a sword in the forehead, the same type of weapon that caused the wound in twilight princess), and link and Zelda reincarnate, so why not demise?
As for Wind Waker Ganondorf being used as a piece of evidence against my theory, he could very well only be a Broken Man due to losing his people and powers and not having a kingdom to conquer, as for ganon not recognizing link in Ocarina of time being used as evidence against it, ganon also dosen't seem to recognize link in wind waker, twilight princess, or a Link to the past, probably because he knows link reincarnates and is just so unsurprised by his appearance to stop him that it looks like he doesn't recognize him when, in fact, he does. As for demise being sealed in the sword and decaying being used as a piece of evidence against it, it could only be his body decaying, which is not that big a leap in logic when you think about it, and ganon has escaped seals tons of times, so why couldn't he escape one extra time?
DISAGREE WITH THAT!!!!!!😏😈
wut you wrote dat in 2 minutes ?
how the fuck did you already write all of that
anxious duck copy and paste
i thought this was just common knowledge, no?
From my understanding, Demise is the source of all evil in the Zelda universe. So, all evil things are a part of demise that has been reincarnated, which includes Ganon. So I would say that you're not wrong. It's just that Ganon's only a piece of Demise, as opposed to a traditional reincarnation.
Okay the reflecting with the net is hilarious!
#1: the main character of skyward sword, looks very similar to almost all the protagonists from the zelda series. this is most likely a nod to the fact that he is the protagonist of a zelda game
Oh my god
That ganondorf distraction with a fishing rod is my new favourite thing
Last time I was this early was when my girlfriends parents weren’t home
I LIKE BREAD i like it, combining two memes. good job.

your presentation, editing and dialogue in your vids are so easy and good to listen to/ watch. Incredible stuff Zeltik!
Yet another solid, enjoyable video. I sometimes get lost on your channel just clicking more and more, great stuff!!
Not ashamed to admit this is my favorite zelda game
Music and Zelda go hand-in-hand.
