Thank you so much! It’s rare to find someone explaining something thoroughly
❤️
Thank you Dereton33. I live in a share house where one of occupants needs the heater on all the time. We spoke yesterday how the landlord had increased the rent citing the huge energy bill and the occupant was complaining how expensive everything was. Anyway the house is piping hot as all the radiators were on. A few nights ago I had a miserable time of it, but today I found your video and I can rest easy. Thanks once again. You're a life saver.
absolute lifesaver, my room had been at like full heat since yesterday. thank you!
Thank you so much genius! Our bills are ridiculously high last three months as we weren’t able to stop a burning to the max radiator in a room we use for storage. Today, after watching your video with the best clear instructions we finally managed to stop it. God bless you mate!
this video just saved my life. my Thermostatic radiator head just broke with the heating on. For 3 days I was frustrated because is too hot the sleep,. and today I finally managed to find this video I'm just so happy about this. thank you very much.
Thank you so much, you saved a life! I just moved to a new place and the bathroom towel radiator was stuck on maximum heat, which resulted in a hefty energy bill already. It also burnt me once. Landlord had no idea about its workings. I thought I would have to live with the heating off in the whole flat. I'm very grateful that you share useful knowledge!
Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge ❤️ The heater from my son's bedroom broke the thermostat and you just saved a sleepless night. Bless you 😇🙏
Superb. The bedroom I don't use has been boiling for years everytime the heating is on. Now off thank God! Cheers mate.
you are a godsend! daughters top floor room is like an oven, and with the unpredictable weather right now, it's even a sauna or freezing cold... thank you! (and thank you Jan, great questions re: direction) keep up the content!
Thank you!!!! I live in a room where the old man in the house has it up on 30 degrees Celsius 24/7 (and still complains he's cold...). This was like learning from my grandad or something. What an absolute legend!
Thank you. Just put my real tree up and turned rad next to it off but it was still blasting. Tried both ways on the thermo as their was a dispute between me n him as to I had turned it wrong way and only one of us can crawl under the tree. We have now given the other end a twist and hope that solves it. Thanks for the video. In new year will check out your how to replace one. Thanks again. Wish us luck!
Saved my life this. My bedroom was like a sauna this week! Thanks fella :)
Thank you so much!!! Was so stressed about this, as can’t invite anyone round now to fix anything because of current lockdown restrictions! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
P.S. I’ll be sure to visit your Amazon shop first if/when I need any spare parts for any house repair issues.
Jan always asks the right questions 😄 I was thinking 'which way is he turning that?'
You are an absolute genius mate 🙏 thank you so so much for this. I’ve literally had a piping hot bedroom for about 3 years now and I didn’t even know I could turn it off at the other end 😂🙈🙈 you have made my day. Thank you so much ❤️
I cannot thank you enough. I am not a very handy with stuff like this but I managed to switch off my radiator that went overdrive after the adjuster broke off two days ago. I was melting and worried as my water tank seemed really hot as well. Well, this morning I went and bought a wrench first thing. The bliss. Haha.
Thanks again.
Saved me time and money thanks pal you're video is bookmarked for reference as i have a bad memory!
Cheers for this pal, nice and easy to follow!... thank you to your assistant too, all the right questions. Thank you.
Very helpful. Great knowledge, thank you for the video and your channel. All the best.
Many thanks for this. I tried with pliers but no luck as could not get any grip and mistakenly thought that it could not be turned any further, then I tried the wrench and it worked a treat. About six turns in all.
Thank you. I didn’t know what to turn and which way to turn it. You solved both questions!
Just what I needed - thanks. Good point about recording how any turns to shut off.
My apartment is either WAY too hot or slightly cold ....only if its a deep freeze tho. So being able to control the heat is a life saver thank you!
Thank you so much my room really overheated and I had no idea what to do. This really helped
This helped me a lot my radiator broke like months ago and finally I can turn the heat off thanks
Thank you, you helped me I was having trouble sleeping because my room was too hot.
Thank you for this. My radiator was getting up to 31C! Hopefully no more until I can get the other end sorted.
Very helpful to have an assistant asking questions which I , as a complete DIY no hoper, need answering
Thank you for this! I now know that I need to replace the whole thermostat that is broken 👍
Thank you I had that problem with my radiator i have turned the radiator off as it was costing me a lot in gas this should help me save some money.
Thanks beyond thanks! So so helpful, and a cool bedroom again .Total genius, I agree.
Our bathroom radiator has been on full blast for over four years 😱 I will have to give this a try.
We broke our radiator handle so it's been stuck on full heat and I was scared to twist things with a spanner and see what works haha. Thank you for the explanation! 😊
THANK YOU SO MUCH. Been absalutly boiling in my babies room stopping him from sleeping 😭 this will do brilliantly till we can get a plumber out!! 🙌🙏🙏 life saver
thank you ! you just saved a house full of students loads of money now we dont have to heat rooms that dont need it
Thanks for this. Woke up and thought my bedroom was very hot. Then found the radiator temp valve had snapped off during the night!
Great to know one way to sort ! I like the camera operator! She asks questions that we need to know!❤️
I have a little problem 😉....... why does my soft close seat and cover , now not soft close? You have to push it down by hand else it’ll sit there all night for when the missus wants to use the loo! I’ve tried WD 40 but no dig! Any ideas please? Great videos! Glad to see the face free of bandages! 👍🇬🇧
Hi David, yes Jan always ask the questions I forget need to be asked, any way there is no way to fix your seat WD 40, will not help I know I tried it. New seat Im afraid.
dereton33 thanks buddy, I’ll just keep pushing it back down again LOL, I thought there’s not a lot to them really , no hydrolics etc, it’s better to leave the seat down, LOL. 👍😂keep safe!
You guys are a saviour. Thanks so much for this. My radiator at both top and lower floor of my flat was pumping hot air despite by HIU being switched off, in addition to my TRVs being broken. It was getting extremely difficult to stay inside, in addition to burning money on using all the excess heat units.
Cant thank you both much for this.
One follow up question, how do I know which new TRV to fit in my radiators in terms of sizing and how do I do it? Do you have any video on how to fit new TRV after older ones being broken?
Have a few videos on my channel for fitting those. Most TRVs are 15 mm and fit any radiator.
Brilliant, great help thank u
My dad can’t visit me due to him shielding to do these sort of jobs ......your channel is like having ya dad on UA-cam . Well done
Thank you turned radiator off should save money as it was costing me a lot of money in gas.
Thank you so much - my husband is pretty useless and after watching your tutorial I’m going to fix it myself. Thank you 🙏🏻
Mine turned 87 times ffs 😂 super useful! I’ll be back to say if it’s worked and how long it took 👊🏻
OMG thank you so much, my bedroom has literally been like a sauna for a few months now, thanks to this video I was able to turn of the radiator!
Nice one, had exactly this problem. Replacing the TRV valve, would you replace the other end at the same time (since the system is already drained, etc.)? Thanks!
Thank you. I have a large hall radiator and couldn't work out how to turn it off as it didn't have a thermostat valve. Hopefully that is it off now.
Thank you for this video! I watched a few of your other videos too my pin thing seems to be stuck down but my radiator is blazing hot still, so in that case will I need to replace the whole valve?
@@dereton33 ah no worries thanks for the reply! Do you have a video on how to do it?
If I don't turn it fully clockwise, will it still warm up the room but not as much as before? My room gets way too hot. 😬
So sorry if this has been asked before - I have an older turn valve radiator, not a thermostatic. The turn valve is on the right end, the lockshield valve is on the left end. The turn valve is completely stuck. Will turning off the lockshield valve work on these kinds of radiators?
Hi if possible could you explain how to release the stacked valve that is all the way down and I cannot reach and it’s not coming up with banging either. We gave Drayton system
Thank you
Prise the cap off with a screwdriver, or if it has a screw in it remove that first.
You're a lifesaver mate, been having insomnia for a few weeks now because of my room being piping hot and now I've never been so happy to have a cool room again
Great Ben.
Hahahana this is why I can’t sleep
