    Is this a great adventure bike alternative for A2 holders? Do you you can get the same experience? Let us know in the comments.

    Just ride one,and then judge,i have one,and love it.The build quality is very good!and fast enough for me in and around the city..
    In the pass i got bikes that having good comments,and i hated the bike..otherwise some bike with bad comments,can be very good..
    95% of the people that gives comments,never sit on the bike they "know so good"

      Dunt need it, 250’s fine, tops 80 with all my camping gear on motorway without feeling too stressed and returns 90mpg with a genuine 300 mile tank range, if it was a 400 you might get a little more mph and acceleration but it’s no slouch as it is and you’d be sacrificing some of those positives that make this such a great bike 👍🏻

    You must have got a bad un’ I have one of these and it’s a great little tourer, even after riding much larger bikes I don’t find this underpowered and there’s hardly any vibes through the bars and pegs at any speed, one of the smoothest engines I’ve had in fact, will sit all day on the motorway fully loaded with me and my camping gear at 70 to 80mph in total comfort, riding position for me is perfect, i get 90mpg and a massive tank range of around 300 miles, don’t listen to the bike snobs, this ones a winner 👍🏻

      I just bought one Euro 4 pre reg ,as downsizing from Bandit .The bike had more than adequate real world performance ,take no notice of elitists who think adventuring or touring is speeding down motorways loaded up 3 tin boxes & staying at posh hotels or glam camping .They ride these bikes over all terrains & rainy seasons in south & Central America even over the Andes .They exceed the U.K.National speed limit of 70 mph by about 15mph & do up to about 90 to the gallon ,have loads of tie down lugs & a solid rear carrier ,comfy seat ,smooth engine ,great dash board & mirrors you can use ,screen just needs a clip on deflector for taller riders ,tyres & chains can be swopped out for others as they wear ,I passed my test decades ago & have ridden all size machines from 50 cc upwards ,you buy & ride the bike that suits your application & needs ,not what the elitist U.K. motorcycling press hypes up .You don’t hear car drivers saying a Vauxhall Corsa is learners car & you have to buy a Vayron just because you passed your car test .This 250 V strom could turn out to be the only motorcycle any real world rider needs .when I go for a ride I go for a ride not a race or to score points at the local bikers pub or cafe one upmanship stakes .

    All depends what you want to do doesn't it? If you're on a budget, not too concerned about image or cruising much above 70mph this could be a really good option for the solo tourer who might also want to do a bit of off road. The rider in the video doesn't look at all cramped standing up to me despite what she says. There's a huge amount of snobbery in biking thesedays. Being slightly more mature myself now (54 & also only 5'7" on a good day in the morning) I've gone from an ST1100 Pan (weighing in at a portly 300kg) to Triumph Tiger Sport (250kg) and currently on a V-Strom 650 (215kg) which is a cracking bike...

    Suzuki V-Strom 250 : PROS: Fuel Consumption, Cool Dash / CONS: 17inch wheels (limited potentional for off-road) , really small engine (25HP) and heavy weight at 188kg .
    BMW G310GS: PROS: 19inch(alloy) front wheel, Good Quality , Cool Dash , Great Looks (imo) plus Upside Down Suspension / CONS: Small 313cc SINGLE Cylinder 34HP engine, not great for highway use.
    Honda CB500X : PROS: Big 471cc 47HP Parrarel Twin engine (Still ok for a2 license), Reliable, Good Looking (2016+), Tall Windscreen , Adjustable Suspension and generally feels like a "middle weight bike" instead of small ADV. / CONS: Price (more engine=more money) , 17inch wheels(limited potentional for off-road), ~4.0L/100km fuel consumption, No Gear Indicator , Ugly Yellow Dash. (Some people complain about the breaks, i find them average.) , 196KG .
    Kawasaki Versys 300 : PROS: Twin Cylinder ,40HP engine, 19inch WIRE-SPOKED front wheel, Average Dash, Reliable Engine / CONS : High Revving Engine from ninja 300 (that means not much torque) but really no cons.. i dont like the looks at all , but thats personal. (also the ABS is not switchable but none of these bikes have switchable ABS so..)
    Really the Kawasaki is the winner here, CB500X is great but more expensive and with less off-road character, the BMW seems Good but i hate the fact that is a single cylinder, and Suzuki is seriously underpowered with small 17inch wheels.
    Yamaha's turn to make the Tracer 300 with the r3 engine, and KTM to make 390 ADV with the 390duke engine.
    I know the problem with the KTM, its a single cylinder, but i think it would be great offroad.
    And i know the problem with Yamaha, ADV bikes not their strong spot, it would be a more road based bike like the Honda CB500X, or like the other Tracers (700/900) .

    • @ripmax333
      @ripmax333 6 років тому

      for the CB500X, you can always invest in the Rally Raid products to transform the 500x into a very capable middle weight adventure machine. the big Con is that it will eventually increase the seat height. the CCM GP450 is to me the great deal, with a multiple seat height options starting from 31inches and a wet weight of about 145kg and with an engine of about 40hp, but unfortunately they are very expensive and they are not available in my country.

    • @RealOrbit-Australia
      @RealOrbit-Australia 6 років тому

      MakTheSank KTM problem is a single cylinder? Have you noticed who has been dominating in the Dakar Rally all these years...all singles, all KTMs

    • @MakTheSank
      @MakTheSank 6 років тому

      if we are talking about ADV bike we are talking about highway use, and a single in the highway is a bit of a problem if you like comfort and no vibrations. I am sure offroad will be amazing with all that torque.

    250 cc is enough for most UK biking commutes. Just don't expect it to be overtaking traffic, racing from the lights or putting a smile on your face.

    • @ripmax333
      @ripmax333 6 років тому

      fully agree with EinkOLED ...BUT.. the big problem is that it's too heavy for a 250cc. i would prefer if they raised the price with a aluminium frame making it lighter and spoke wheels while retaining the same seat height. i would buy it because it would be enough even for me.

  • @DirceuCorsetti

    Bit too heavy for a mini adventurer. Good review as usual!

  • @ripmax333
    @ripmax333 3 роки тому +1

    Well if one puts into perspective the RE Himalayan that weights 10kg more , same Hp and 10Nm more of torque it’s not that bad. Plus many people like the Himalayan and also aren’t bothered that much by the lack of power, maybe it’s that extra torque that does the magic.
    I wonder what Suzuki were thinking when they got this 250 up to 188kg wet. But I’m still tempted to try one, as a small adventure bike, I really like it.

  • @AleksiJoensuu
    @AleksiJoensuu 6 років тому

    Good job on the review! Thorough and clear. :) Too bad the V-strom seems a bit lazy: If one wanted to use the bike for proper touring, the ability to comfortably handle some highway riding would be important. Perhaps the bike could have been 500cc and boast something closer to 45 horsepower? The price would have been higher, obviously, but even as it is, a used DL650, which can handle any legal speeds and more, sounds too tempting in comparison to this.

    handlebars can be adjusted y`know, also many test bikes are thrashed from new which is something a proud new owner would never do,n this careful running in will give a smoother engine. I think this bike has no direct comparison machine, it is what it is, and I get it. The only thing stopping me immediately buying one is I have four bikes already, and must sell one at least first or I will feel like a spoilt kid!
