The solution to this code is often simple and inexpensive. The ZF transmission will not let you leave "park" unless there's enough transmission fluid. Check for leaks and refill. That will at least get you out of park and to the shop. Failed shifters & valve body are rare and solutions of last resort.

And also the other problem I am having with my shift or not going into gear initially was initially was because of the seals and mechatronic syllablis mechatronic syllonoids in the transmission I ordered my pen filter and seals I'm saving up for the Illinois I'm going to do the job myself I need also the transmission fluid I got the pump to put the fluid in that's all you need it's not an impossible job Between the crank shot position sensor and the seals and syllonoids in the transmission those should all fix the issue altogether I have a 2008 528 eye it is very similar The 2008 X5
I have bmw e70 2008 when car cold transmission works perfect after 2 mild shifter lock in park , when I change selector to D or R it’s lock in P again also if when i stop and press gas on high rpm P be flashing and i get transmission in dash and fan works higher speed and P gone must stop and start engine back P again
I think it is the crank shaft position sensor located under the starter I just changed my starter and I'm having the same exact problem I bought the crankshaft position sensor for $10 on eBay and it comes in a week I will let you know for sure but I looked up other videos on this and the faulty crank shot position sensor will keep it in 2nd gear only while driving
I recently changed my 2OO8 535xi trans fluid, seals, sleeves, solenoids. I did this as preventative, not because I had any problems. I was very careful and precise, however now I am getting this CF2F error only, but no driving issues I notice? Shitting fine. Can’t seem to clear this. Is it possibly it’s the parking rod activates by park solenoid? Initially it would not start and had a trans error. Now fine, just CF2F code remains?
