+Maria Ines I've seen Lisboa, Sintra, Estoril, Cascais, Setubal, Lagos, Faro, Albufeira, Coimbra, Aveiro the Alcobaca Monastery and some small countries, Portugal is beautiful, a wonderful country but Porto has been for me, the biggest surprise. I spent 5 days with my gf in this marvellous city and for me it's impossible to explain how amazing is. We felt very sad at the time to leave Porto and come back home. It's natural that you're proud to live in one of the beautiful place in Europe.
Opinião de um Alfacinha (na verdade sou dos subúrbios de Lisboa, mas prefiro considerar-me um verdadeiro Lisboeta): Visitei o Porto há poucos meses e adorei. Achei a cidade lindíssima, cheia de belos edifícios ornamentados, os eléctricos, a história... Sinceramente, saí daquela cidade com uma ideia totalmente diferente, com mais orgulho no meu país e no meu povo. Acho que não devemos comparar Lisboa com o Porto, nem o Porto com Lisboa, são cidades diferentes, ambas com muito carácter e beleza, devemos apenas sentir orgulho por pertencermos a um país com tanta riqueza e diversidade. Porém, já que temos sempre a tendência de comparar as duas cidades, vou dar-vos a minha opinião. O Porto, apesar de ter muito edifícios em ruínas, está muito bem "arranjado", ou seja, as ruas, os passeios, etc, estão muito limpas e nota-se bem que foram renovadas recentemente. Em Lisboa o mesmo não acontece, visto que a cidade é muito maior é mais difícil cuidar destes pormenores, que fazem toda a diferença. O Porto tem mais lojas (mercearias principalmente) antigas. Lisboa tem mais lugares para visitar, mas o Porto também tem uma grande variedade de espaços magníficos. A Arquitectura da zona central do Porto é mais rica (mais menos colorida) do que em Lisboa (comparativamente com a baixa Lisboeta). Os edifícios do Porto são mais ornamentados. Não há muito mais a dizer, é uma perca de tempo alimentarmos guerrinhas entre o Porto e Lisboa. Do meu ponto de vista, as duas cidades são fantásticas.

I've been watching a lot of frenetic tourist-oriented, promotional videos for different european cities. They are almost all shot on brilliantly sunny days, with throngs of happy tourists and with loud, energetic, jaunty backing tracks. Those videos have their own charm but it's incredibly nice to come across this beautiful, slow-paced vignette of Porto. I read in the description that the film-maker didn't plan to film the city in a thick sea of mist. To me the mist fits perfectly with the pace and audio of the piece. I love how the backing track is allowed to run out at the end and we get to hear some of the city sounds. The whole thing was really beautiful mesmerising : )

I have just came back from a trip to Faro-Albuferia-Lisbon-Cascais and Porto. I absolutely in love with Porto. it is an incredible city and it is a mixture of old & good together. The small streets reminds me a bit of Fes in Marocco. Porto is a romantic place and i can be compared to places like Venice.
Can someone from Porto please adopt me and take me to live with you over there? I want to go there so bad! It's so rich in culture and I like how it's a mix of the ancient and the modern world. I love Porto, I love Portugal!
my favorite weather is a heavy mist. it turns the city so mysterious and exciting, you dont know whats 50m in front of you, you feel that there is only 100m radius of city around you. (my favorite weather is actually a sunny day, but a heavy mist day occasionally just makes me so excited!)

Eu vivo no porto, em portugal, e sempre vivi, foi nesta bela cidade em que nasci e que irei morrer. Só fui uma vez a Lisboa, e não pude ver e admirar a cidade muito bem porque só fui lá para ver o jardim zoológico no 4 ano (agora vou para o 8) ! Mas na minha opinião, acho o porto muito mais lindo do que Lisboa. Mas não estou a dizer nada de mal de Lisboa, pode também ser uma cidade linda e tudo isso, mas o porto é a minha cidade e é sempre um sentimento diferente. Para mim o porto é uma cidade única, linda, incrível e muito boa para os turistas passarem férias! É simplesmente a melhor cidade do mundo!

Quanto a Lisboa, já a visitei várias vezes e, embora com um charme diferente, é sem duvida uma bela cidade... Já visitei a maior parte do nosso país e digo-te que não existe cidade como a nossa... mas existem algumas que se aproximam... nutro um carinho muito especial por Coimbra, Gruimarães e Aveiro... cada uma é especial à sua maneira... sejamos bairristas, pois temos motivos para o ser, mas não excluamos o restante do nosso lindo país.

There are plaques above the conductors heads that tell the date the trolleys were built. Many from USA. Some are 100 years old! I was raised when trolleys were popular, before buses.
Well-chosen images. I've been to Lisbon but missed Porto. I'll for sure visit it next time I travel to Portugal. By the way, several images reminded me of places in Brazil.

@eurodestination Actually it is not. Only Jerónimos and Belém tower are. Don't get me wrong though, your video is pretty amazing. Very well filmed, great colours and it gives a very beautiful image about the city. I just think there would be other stuff worth of being included. Just an example, becauste is the most obvious, Clérigos Tower is missing.

i'm from porto and i would like more of this video if it showed other things. we have of course the magical douro but there are a lots of different places to visit. Porto is not just Douro, it has other places in the interior and next to the sea. All is magical. I'm sorry that people actually think mostly about Douro... THere's so much more!
Porto is my City. Born there in 1972 . Don't have words to describe how amazing it is. Hey, mallorcaman 33 the best way to get out of the airport directely to various main city points(including) the city Center, is the transtram (metro do Porto). And it's much cheapear than any other transport. I'm living in England now , but my city is my city, miss a lot:(
@eurodestination Definitely Coimbra would be on my top 10, its really a beautiful city and their University architecture its one of the wonders of the world. As you like Coimbra, I would recommend you as well Aveiro, it's about 1 hour from Coimbra and is known as the Venice of Portugal.

There are plaques above the conductors heads that tell the date the trolleys were built. Many from USA. Some are 100 years old! I was raised when trolleys were popular, before buses.

Well-chosen images. I've been to Lisbon but missed Porto. I'll for sure visit it next time I travel to Portugal. By the way, several images reminded me of places in Brazil.

Great video. Nice steady tripod shots, beautiful choices to shoot & great picture quality. And as for the comments of what was not in the video, you get what you get- 1 hour of filming or 5 days. Nobody can get everything, & that should not be the goal.

@eurodestination Actually it is not. Only Jerónimos and Belém tower are. Don't get me wrong though, your video is pretty amazing. Very well filmed, great colours and it gives a very beautiful image about the city. I just think there would be other stuff worth of being included. Just an example, becauste is the most obvious, Clérigos Tower is missing.

i'm from porto and i would like more of this video if it showed other things. we have of course the magical douro but there are a lots of different places to visit. Porto is not just Douro, it has other places in the interior and next to the sea. All is magical. I'm sorry that people actually think mostly about Douro... THere's so much more!

Porto is my City. Born there in 1972 . Don't have words to describe how amazing it is. Hey, mallorcaman 33 the best way to get out of the airport directely to various main city points(including) the city Center, is the transtram (metro do Porto). And it's much cheapear than any other transport. I'm living in England now , but my city is my city, miss a lot:(

@eurodestination Definitely Coimbra would be on my top 10, its really a beautiful city and their University architecture its one of the wonders of the world.
As you like Coimbra, I would recommend you as well Aveiro, it's about 1 hour from Coimbra and is known as the Venice of Portugal.
