I loved this. I work in Kaunas for a month every year. It is a beautiful place with the most amazing coffee and spurgine. If you're there, consider visiting the Cirloionis museum.

You are absolutely right - half of the castle collapsed into the river when the bank was washed down by the stream in 17th century and was never rebuilt.
