- Le projet Ulysse : un Land Rover Defender unique. En dehors d'une motorisation inédite en France, un V8 LS3 GM de 500cv avec boite auto 6 vitesses, ce 130 Crew Cab, pick-up à l'origine a été re-carrossé en Station Wagon avec chambre de toit relevable, et confortablement aménagé avec les équipements RR Concept. Des roues 37 pouces et une suspension adaptée complètent l'équipement de ce magnifique joujou... Ulysse : mieux que la version 110 "spectre" du film James Bond ?
La deuxième partie de la vidéo est tournée au Maroc où ce Defender est allé se confronter au pistes et aux dunes du désert. Ce 4X4 est ensuite parti affronter en 2018 les pistes torturée de l'Islande. - Авто та транспорт

What is the point? I Guess there is ashcroft transmission? Cos if its no... it will fail very soon ) What about fuel? How much this motor need petrol?
I guess they just used GM transmission, most likely 4l65 and kept LT230 transfer case - they are pretty tough and adapters are readily available. People have been putting GM V8 in Land Rovers for decades. And the point it obvious: more power! 2.4 diesel out of Ford Transit is OK for what it is if you use Defender just for it's utility. But if you drive it for fun, even Rover V8 is IMHO way better option.
Its not built for those that care about fuel lol. Id honestly rather a stock defender that i built myself but lot of people dont have the time and skill to build their own.
