Hey Stuart great job on you UA-cam channel, just wanted to ask what the cost of this flight(4 people plane with fuel and landing ect)? I want to get my PPL but need to weigh up the cost of getting one and then the cost of putting it to some use. Keep up the good work!
Hey Josh - excited you are thinking of getting the PPL! I rent aircraft from the flying school I learned at (Tayside Aviation) and it's a flat rate of £160 per hour including fuel and landing at the home airfield. The number of passengers you take up has no influence on cost. It may sound like a lot but the fact it is a flat rate which includes everything from the rental to fuel and insurance I think it's pretty good value. I only fly once every 4-5 weeks which helps keep costs down. To maintain your PPL you need to fly a minimum of 12 hours a year so it works out about £1000 a year to maintain your licence. Hope this gives you a clearer picture and any other questions just let me know. Stuart
This is why you should get your PPL ! Who were your first passengers??
Nice work Stuart
Thanks mate. Enjoyed your video Dundee to Oban - looking forward to that one in the summer
