If you can get your hands on a Stealth plus 2 hybrid, I would LOVE to see a review. Just ordered mine but sadly us commoners can't get it til April. Love your show. ✌🏽
For me, the Cobra LS sounds better and the peacoat blue and red version available in the US suits my eye better than Stealth. I finally tested stealth+, ltdx LS, and Rogue St Max LS for myself and performance was generally similar with slight edge to Cobra in distance/dispersion. The Cobra also had a better sound/feel for me and better look behind the ball. At $50-100 difference to the others I took the Cobra. I only wish they’d go back to the old cobra logo like on the F9 that would be perfect 👌🏼
Agreed on the logo. I have an F9 driver and 3 wood refitted to my specs and happy with both, no need to change. I even perused the web and found a new “old “ Cobra hat because of the logo. Got it in blue, looks good.
I'm keeping my F9 for another year at least. Low spinning, easy to hit, and goes just as far as anything else out there, plus or minus 5 yards, with the advantage that it allows me to hit almost 75% of the fairways I use it on.
I will say the peacoat blue version genuinely looks better in my opinion unless you are a black crown only golfer and it’s the best looking driver of the year by miles
@@Brooks_Cupcake I routinely hit over 65%. Some days all fairways. I don't drive 300 yards, of course, but 230-240 is typical with runout. Hard to believe. I'd rather be in the short grass 20 to 70 yards behind the guy in the weeds, because I can probably get on the green before he does. Age and experience beats youth and enthusiasm just about every time. I play to a 4 handicap on 6500 yards while being a not stellar putter. So there's that.
Here's the real answer to the question - if your current drive is less than 5 years old, none of these are likely to make any difference whatsoever. Not sure about anyone else but for a game that prides itself on honesty and integrity, the manufacturing marketeers really are bringing the game into disrepute! Fancy colours now! Keep your money in your pocket would be my advice.
TaylorMade all day....Santa gave me a new set...right before the Stealth drivers and irons released, love the drivers, testing one would be fun, pass on the irons, enjoying these P-790's and the Sim2 Max..
I've been fitted for the stealth plus... got to wait 6 to 8 weeks as I had to pimp it out with a change of colours.. so not so stealth now.. Have to say 10 yard average carry increase for me... won't put that solely down to club... although did feel very stable.. but a lighter shaft and set at 9 degrees gave me 2900 spin... so pro cranked me down to 7 degrees and that dropped spin to 2000 give or take... and I have an attack angle of average 8 degrees up... so no problem launching ball Rad speed is current gamer set at 9, with hzrdus blue smoke xs... Best carry was 267 yards.. average 258 yards Stealth plus set at 7 degrees with 60g hzrdus black... Best carry was 289.. average 269 yards This recipe worked wonders for me... definitely worth checking all of this years line up but just get a proper fitting...
I would go for the Cobra, the TM looks.....obnoxious however both are a pass. Decided to go for PXG 0811 X this season, loved my Cobra SZ but wasn't fitted, expecting the PXG to be an absolute bomb machine!!!
I want to find a range like that. Wish we had one around where I live. Maybe I need to open one. LOL. Maybe if I win the lottery. Can’t wait till February 4. My stealth will hopefully be on its way to me.
Had both drivers. Had the Stealth Plus first @ 8. Man that thing was a beast, very long and I hit more fairways with than any other driver. Currently play Cobra irons and fairway woods, so too match I sold it and got the LTDX LS @ 9. The LTDX LS did not perform as good as the Stealth plus even on shots struck out the middle. Could barely find a fairway with the Cobra and ball speed was higher with the Stealth. So I sent the Cobra back to Global golf and re-purchased the Stealth plus. Like I am averaging 285-300 yards and the perfect ones go about 320-330 yards. I will stick with Taylormade drivers personally. I hit some shots on the heel and toe with the Stealth and it still finds the fairway and is still long.
TM all day, just simply cause its got the red face, I am a magpie I buy clubs cause I like the look of them, The SIM 2 looked better but need to keep innovating the game, pushing the boundaries
Watched all the pro’s have a long drive shoot off with the Stealth & they all pretty much sprayed their Stealth Drivers all over the park. So for a novice, the Cobra LTD Ls or the Ping G425 Max would be far more forgiving & reliable for the Average Joe on the course giving them more chance to hit the fairways regularly & at a far cheaper price range than the Stealth.
The LTDx LS is the low spin version not the forgiving version. It’s the LTDx that’s more like for like with the g425 max. That said it’s a decent whack longer then the ping.
I own the stealth due to my cobra f9 breaking this year. Using the stealth my handicap increased five strokes due to not hitting enough fairways in league rounds. I’m selling it as we speak and I’ll be trying out another cobra or the Ping. The contact of the stealth feels very dull and uses very hard to control and hit the sweet spot.
I've used a Cobra driver for 25+ years but I'd buy the one that worked best during a proper fitting. I'd be just a little upset if the Stealth won the day though because of it's higher price.
Haven't tried the cobra yet But tried both the new callaway and the stealth And the callaway is so much better. The difference in distans is so little it doesn't matter. Callaway is more forgiving Callaway looks better by a mile Callaway sounds soo much better Callaway feels so much better And it was a lot easier to feel where on the head I did hit the ball. Couldn't tell as easy on the stealth.
These comparisons are never exact apples to apples without dialed in specs on both clubheads and shafts. If you aren't using dgoitally lofted heads in their neutral positions and exact shafts with the same measured CPM's, the results can and will vary. Put a different Cobra and Taylomade head on the same shafts and get different results. Still a fun comparison, just have to keep in mind that the results are specific to these two clubs.
You need to try that new Maxfli legally Straighter Flight ball with the new Stealth. If you can break 310yd and have a tight dispersion than I deserve you sending me your old Taylormade SIM Driver :)
In the process of a fitting and noticed that the fitter is only fitting 2 drivers, the stealth and the rogue... was hoping this fitter would not care about price but about what works for me. Would hope to try a few different clubs and brands
If you do try using the Callaway, try the Max LS before the triple diamond LS, we are getting about 600 rpms less backspin with guys with your shot shape and swing speed. Also a true comparison is only if both have the exact same shafts in them. But stock to stock this year so far the Cobra has been winning over customers at the store.
Soon as the rep took it out the bag I said yes please (mid December). Just hit one in the simulator about 2 weeks ago,.... OUTSTANDING. You won't be disappointed. 😃😃😃😃
Just went from a M5 to the Stealth. Did pretty involved fitting with the TaylorMade rep. Tried various heads and shafts as well as different shaft lengths. Ended up gaining 20mph of ball speed and 40 yards of distance
Great video. I currently have a F9 and am looking for a new driver. I do not like the red face of the TM and right now I am more interested in the Callaway than these 2. But between these 2 I would have to go with the Cobra.
I choose Cobra all day. Looking forward to testing the new Cobra drivers. Stealth doesn't do it for me I already can't stand the red face ! You certainly didn't swing the Cobra as well as the Stealth.
Played a sim round on Wednesday, one of the guys tested a Stealth driver & it sounded awful, almost sounded like the head had broken every time he hit it, he does get it up around 120 so it wouldn't sound like that if I hit it I guess.
Only cobra drivers I’ve hit are the F8 and F9 they both sounded very muted gave it a soft feel to me. I liked them but they didn’t beat the ping g400 for me
2 yards more to the TM but 100 pounds more 50 pounds per yard ? I'm not sure however, the face where it meets the face has what appeared to be the paint has been compromised. I have had a number of Taylor made clubs over the years and the paint finish has never been durable
Currently gaming the F9 but looking to upgrade to the LTDx and its better dispersion; also the LTDx head is much lighter than the Stealth which should produce more headspeed without swinging harder.
I don’t like the look of the Taylor made so it’s easy for me but it seems you have chosen one lol good luck with the stealth driver but it did look as if you were definitely a stealth advocate so not really a good comparison but I love your content please keep them coming thanks
I know that both drivers were playing at 9 deg James, but would a standard 9 deg Cobra head have helped with a more consistent strike. Just a thought that is all
Looks like the Stealth had a 9 degree loft and the cobra had a 10.5 degree loft? I'm guessing you adjusted to same loft. What do the spin rates look like? Has the carbon face affected the club head speed at all?
The Stealth without a shadow of a doubt. Love the design , had a a basket of balls at range to try it. Was a delight to hit up the range. Price a big factor though
Taylor made a little longer. Cobra felt and sounded better. THE ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM IS HOW LONG WILL A $500 PLUS DRIVER HOLD UP TO THE CONSTANT POUNDING. carbon fiber drivers have a history of short lives. As for me the Rogue sounds like the better high end driver.
Not sure how valid the comparison is, based on your obvious preference for the TalorMade. I don't blame you for that, because you clearly get better center face contact on the Stealth driver because you have adapted your swing to that driver. Your "stock" Stealth swing isn't working on the other driver though. Having said all that, except for the first swat with the Cobra, mishits with it didn't result ion a huge loss of performance. Not sure you can say that about the Stealth driver; from what I've seen, off center strikes with the TaylorMade club are punishing.
Both drivers are playing 9.0 loft. Before anyone else wastes time commenting. Enjoy the video

You could of saved everyones time by saying it in the video how about the shafts?
I believe you have a fake account telling people they won a free driver. Unless I really did. 🤣🤣
James, do you have anything to do with WhatsApp?
Looks bogus to me. Could hurt your brand.
Just bought the cobra ltdx max tonight. Absolutely love the sound and feel of it when i connect with the ball.

COBRA - They have consistently had the best drivers for years. While others might make a solid one every few years, Cobra continues to lead the way.
Agreed. I am looking at a new LTDx/LS driver and a new LTDx 4w @16.5°. I also just a RADSpeed Big Tour 3w for use out of the Teebox and long par 5’s.

I agree with you James on the way the Cobra looks behind the ball have the Cobra Rad Speed
Been playing the Cobra SpeedZone for 2 years now and I love it. That being said I’m going with the Stealth. Love the look and sound
I prefer the Taylormade Stealth driver it looks really cool and performs brilliantly! Love your Videos!
Thought about the new LTDx but decided to get Radspeed XB for $300 and save the extra $200 for new wedges

Smart move
No brainer when you put it like that.
After getting my XB the bottom cracked on my 2nd drive so I ended up exchanging for the Sim2 for $400
I would go for the Cobra. A couple of yards isn't worth the extra money the Stealth costs. If Taylormade was cheaper I would consider it for sure.

In my opinion the callaway rogue st is the most stable driver of them all in the testing ive done!!

Yes
Stealth, bought one a few weeks ago and love it, great ball flight and good distance.

Different faces: 9 + 10.5, were they adjusted to the same so it was fair?
New Cobra driver for me this year. Although I do like the looks of the new Callaway Rogue Drivers.
