I had a good/great day but you made me a smile on top of it! (I should be careful...) Now.. I just posted this in the other thread. But I can share with you as well... just to be prepared for the unknowns: The Japanese proverb 人間万事塞翁が馬 (ningen banji saiou ga uma) is a rich and insightful expression about the unpredictable nature of life and the importance of not getting too caught up in short-term gains or losses. It's often translated as "misfortune may be a blessing in disguise" or "good and bad fortune are intertwined. The story behind the proverb is crucial to understanding its meaning:
An old man (Saiou) lived near the border. One day, his horse ran away. His neighbors felt sorry for him, but he simply said, "Maybe this is a good thing."
A few months later, the horse returned, bringing with it several wild horses. Now, the old man was rich. His neighbors congratulated him, but he replied, "Maybe this is a bad thing."
His son, who loved riding, tried to tame one of the wild horses and fell, breaking his leg. The neighbors again commiserated, but the old man said, "Maybe this is a good thing."
A year later, a war broke out, and all the able-bodied men in the region were conscripted. The old man's son was spared because of his broken leg.
      Meaning and Interpretation:
      The proverb teaches us that:
Life is unpredictable: Fortunes can change quickly and unexpectedly. What seems like a misfortune today might turn out to be a blessing tomorrow, and vice versa.
Don't be attached to immediate outcomes: We shouldn't get too elated by good fortune or too despondent by bad fortune. Things are rarely as simple as they seem in the moment.
A broader perspective is important: We need to look at the bigger picture and consider the long-term consequences of events.
Acceptance and equanimity: The proverb encourages acceptance of whatever comes our way. By not clinging to outcomes, we can cultivate a sense of peace and equanimity in the face of life's ups and downs.
So, 人間万事塞翁が馬 reminds us to maintain a balanced perspective, to be resilient in the face of adversity, and to recognize that good and bad fortune are often two sides of the same coin. It encourages us to see the interconnectedness of events and to trust in the unfolding of life, even when we don't understand it.

If or when you find it.. I don't think you can express it. (although I thought of St. Exuperi: “And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.”
