I've been binging your videos recently, and I'm a big fan of them. It may sound simple, as you cover usually more in-depth topics, but I'd love to see a video where you rank all the NuWho Dalek episodes! It would be interesting to see your takes on the stories themselves and how well they represent your favourite bad guys.
I've been meaning to do a ranking video like that for a while now, since it looks like we won't be getting any New Who Dalek stories anytime soon I may as well rank the Dalek stories of 2005-2022
Colourful was fine in the cinema in 1966. I loved it. Especially since all TV was B & W in those days. Colourful Daleks were a novelty. Then I saw the Power Rangers Daleks aka New Paradigm. Aargh! 😮 Tone it down a shade or two, and choose matt paint
would really like to see more Dalek ranks in Doctor Who. Its one of the things I like about my fan Dalek Crusader Empire. I made sure to add a clear ranking system to the Daleks using inspiration of Dalek ranking systems of the past.
hiya dalek bumps you may have done a video on this already that I haven’t seen but was there ever an explanation as to why there were so many dalek variants on skaro in the magicians apprentice/witches familiar ?
I haven't done a video on that yet, primarily because there hasn't been an official lore explanation for why there were so many different types of Dalek in that story - we can only speculate as to why this is the case. I could do a video listing the most prominent theories though, as there are some pretty interesting ones out there, such as the idea that the Dalek timeline is slowly unravelling, the idea that Daleks from across time and space came to pay respects to Davros before he died, or the idea that because Skaro is so far from the 'front line' of the Daleks' war against the rest of the universe, the Daleks who live there don't all feel the need to upgrade to warrior-class casings
@ now that’s interesting surprised we haven’t got an official explanation but a video on the different theories would be great to see keep up the good work
The IRL explanation, of course, is cost, they had these models available and didn't want to spend money on extra props or CGI. Problem number 1 is that the New Paradigm Daleks exterminated the "old style" drones on sight in "Victory", deeming them "inferior", yet are seen in subservient roles in "Asylum". They then disappear from Skaro. They stated their intention to rebuild the Dalek race in the New Paradigm. What happened? They could take out the entire Parliament easily, so why were they not in evidence in "Magician's Apprentice"? Timey wimey?
@@neilgodwin6531 just a slight correction, the BBC didn't have the classic props to hand, they had to source them from fans and/or promotional events like the Doctor Who Experience. Moffat wanted the episode to feature more Dalek props than ever before, but deliberately chose not to use the New Paradigm props because the Dalek operators absolutely hated working with them. Apparently the Paradigm props were very uncomfortable to operate, which is the main reason why they were retired. In-universe, the Paradigm fulfilled their purpose in re-establishing the Dalek Empire, and were subsequently wiped out by the Eleventh Doctor, according Big Finish's 'Victory of the Doctor'. Since the Paradigm Daleks had served their purpose, the Daleks saw no reason to make new ones. It's a common misconception that the Paradigm Daleks consider bronze Daleks to be inferior - they don't, in fact the bronze Daleks seen in the Parliament are of the same genetic stock as the Paradigm. The reason why the Paradigm Daleks destroyed the three bronze Daleks in Victory of the Daleks was because they were grown from Davros, an impure mutated Kaled, meaning they were not of the same genetic stock as the Daleks made from the progenitor. The Ironsides also recognised this, which is why they allowed themselves to be destroyed

The gold Dalek Emperor is awesome
There is something about hearing halo music when learning about daleks that is incredibly cursed.
If you could make your own Dalek hierarchy, what would it be like?
not sure but the gold daleks and the paradyme eternal both have black sensor globes so maybe the eternal was based on the gold daleks?
are they custom dalek figures in the thumnail
Yep, I painted them based on designs from the comics
What do daleks do when they don’t exterminate or try to take over the universe
Dalek gold spirdon. Why only one appearance ?
dalek cooks have built in salt and pepper shakers
