In this video, John Escobar, a professor in the Music Production and Engineering department for Berklee College of Music, instructs you on how to use Facebook Spatial Workstation 5 to showcase ambisonic recordings. Beginning with an overview of Audio 360 plug-ins-Spatialiser, Control, Video Player, Converter, Meter, Stereo Loudness, and Encoder-Escobar demonstrates how to set up your session. He then shows how to make sure your positioning of sound is correct with how the microphone was set up in relation to the camera, and how to lock the sound to picture, enabling it to be headtrackable information. In this instance, he is working with footage of a string quartet at Boston Symphony Hall, and Escobar shows on the screen how to select different players, and assign spatialized and headlocked destinations for those players’ sounds. You’ll also learn how to export a mix, and how to encode a final 360 video.

The FB Spatial Audio Workstation destabilizes every piece of software I’ve tried it with. I don’t think it’s ready for prime time yet.

Can you do this within audition now or is it still pro tools and reaper?

Help question, anyone! Do I need to disable "Decode Binaural" on the control plugin, before printing a mix within pro tools?? I know you have to do it within Reaper, but not sure when it comes to PT! Great video here, very informative

What should the speaker layout be like for second order ambisonic only? If I want to use monitors instead of headphones while doing sound design for VR content, do I need to install a speaker setup similar to Dolby atmos or Auro 3D? In short, is there any ITU or similar speaker arrangement for 1st, 2nd or 3rd order ambisonic sound work?

With ambisonics you can render to whatever speaker setup you already have, regardless of the order. However imo, you do need 16 speakers to get the experience

Hi, Why do you use 9 channels render, if you are using Ambisonics first order (4 ch) ? Thanks for all the data!

Hello, thanks for this tutorial, I work with macos 10.12.6 and with FB360 3.3 on Protools 12.8.3 and when I use Spatialiser pluging, I do not see the option "Directionality" or the audio tracking option. Please, do you know why these options do not appear to me? Thank you!
