Of course he needed to, he wanted to make sure that no evidence of the Separatists were left in order to end the Clone Wars. This explains why he had Anakin kill the Trade Federation, separatist leaders and Dooku
To me it always seemed and still does seem like sidious, while he believed Anakin would win in a battle between him and dooku, left the result up to both of his potential apprentices. He setup the board in such a way that he would win no matter what. If dooku beat anakin, he would have gone with the plan that had dooku kill grievous. And had grievous killed the survivor between dooku and anakin somehow, it seems likely to me that Dooku would have given him a prominent position in the empire as the hero that killed the Evil jedi. Grievous would have been an okay asset during order 66 too. It would have proved to him that both dooku and anakin would have been shitty apprentices if they weren't even able to kill grievous at this stage. No matter what would have happened. Even if grievous got a lucky win in. Sidious would have his empire and someone to eradicate the jedi by his side.
Man, Palpatine was doing some serious 4D Chess lol I love how General Grievous was going to get out of hand, he'd eventually turn on them too. All I could think was Broly, lol😅
As always the answer depends on when? At what time? Could lil ani from tatuine take him even though this is before grievous was made cyborg pfff not a chance. But later on around the time of revenge of the sith? Then he could possibly.
Palpatine does like to underestimate Obi Wan Kenobi. Thinking he couldnt possibly beat Greivous, thinking he couldnt possibly beat Anakin. If only we had got to see him underestimate Obi Wan one more time in a duel between Obi Wan and the Dark Lord of the Sith himself.
I feel Palpatine's pain a final fight between Anakin and General Grievous would be so cool dam Anakin's compassion for Obi-Wan on the Invincible Hand will cost him an arm and two legs enjoy your suit young fool.
I do like that, but there is one more thing that stands in Anakin's way of the dark side. Padme. I think Palaptine would have send Padme off on a critical peace keeping mission, had obi-wan been killed by grievous, then grievous would have been told of her location and told to kill her instantly on sight. That would have driven Anakin into a rage unlike any other. allowing him to kill the general.
Or even worse if Anakins child(ren) were also killed if his child(ren) survived even with Padme And Obi Wan dead I think they would have enough light in them to snap Anakin out of it if Grievous killed his child(ren), Padme, And Obi Wan though there would be no one to pull him back to the light left except maybe Ahsoka if Anakin could get over the fact she left the order when he felt he still needed her so yeah.

So if Anakin had proven to Palps that he could beat Dooku, he thought Anakin was finally ready to take on Grievous because he beat Dooku and therefore he could beat Grievous because he beat Dooku so he was ready to fight Grievous
Ohhhh! I thought him telling anakin to tell the council, that he Palpatine, who he knew they distrusted, to send ANAKIN to fight Grievous...was a reverse psychology trick to get obiwan sent away with anakin kept on courascent.
I love how Palps repeatedly think Kenobi some.sort of pussy.1at KENOBI cuts Maul in half and thought dead. Then takes out Grevious on Uttaphu And there takes Vaders limbs and just for shits and gigglea vurns him.to within an inch of his life
Yoda said it, Sidious' faith in Anakin was misplaced, as was his faith in the dark side being more powerful than the light side. Yoda was correct, Kenobi was the one who took out Grievous and defeated Anakin, proving that he both overestimated Anakin and underestimated Kenobi, who one could argue is the Jedi's Jedi. In the end, Vader turned back into light side Anakin, which proved the Emperor's undoing.
Its not about which side the force user is on but depends on there midichlorian count, mastery, experience, knowledge, education, study, variety, etc yeah.
I believe Maul was gonna get bumped off at the end of the Clone Wars. Maybe match him against Jedi till one finally got him . But anyways it goes I think Maul was never gonna see Sheeve reign
In Canon had Maul not failed on Naboo he would be in the position Dooku had in the original Canon timeline with Dooku serving in a more Tarkin Esque role on steroids yeah.
Why couldn't the Jedi or the Sith artificially increase their midichlorian count with bioengineering techniques? Or create for sensitives from non force sensitives?
Grievous: You fool I have been trained in your Jedi arts by Count Dooku! **prepares to draw lightsabers** Anakin: You do realize that I *killed* Count Dooku right? **ignites lightsaber** Grievous: O_O
I wonder if Grievous was as OP as he was in The Clone wars 2003 and in the end of revenge of the Sith Grievous and Sidious would duel to see who would control the Empire. And if he was as OP as he was in the Clone wars 2003. Well, probably Obi-Wan, Ahsoka and so many more knights and Masters would've fallen. Also your probably wondering why I left out Anakin, well thats because Sidious would not want Anakin facing off against Grievous until he was at his max potential. so he could see who would be his better apprentice. Honestly this would be really cool. As his nerf in everything proceeding the 2003 clone wars could possibly to drawn back to Mace Windu crushing Grievous's chest plate. But if General Grievous was as powerful as he was in the 2003 Clone Wars series, Sidious if he ever dueled Grievous to see who would become the Leader of the Empire I still believe Palpetine would win. Unless he forced Grievous and Anakin into a position where they dueled against each other to see who would become Sidious's apprentice.
Agreed, either way the Jedi fell right into any number of ways Palpatine’s plan had to come to reality. Unfortunately Anakin’s down fall was his own self control. He let Obi wan bait him. I am a bit disappointed that Obi wan didn’t put any effort in trying to bring Anakin out of the dark. Rather he fed his anger even more (for a Jedi that preaches so much about the Jedi way this was un Jedi) as if Anakin was a lost cause. I know he slay the younglings and that’s DARK but there has been so much destruction done by other Jedi/rebels that if you dig deep enough you’ll fined how nasty things get in times of war. But back to Palpatine he had force vision which allowed him to see any number of future possibilities he could plan for any outcome hence being prepared for anything the Jedi council could throw at him. I’m
Sidious makes no since, he could use Grevious as a body Gaurd, he could capture him and make him forger about the clone wars. Just my opinion, it would be a waste
i believe it was the hope of palpatine that anakin and obi wan would both succeed in subduing Grievous and in doing so he would declare anakin a hero that ended the confederacy an push for him to become a nominee for the jedi council which would still have ended the same way probably as he knew anakin was frustrated by the council's methods. further more he could use padme as a bargaining chip an convince the naive senator to flee somewhere an set up a trap an or exploit the jedi playing out exactly how he wanted things to. however palpatine underestimated Grievous' zeal to live an his nihilistic nature an this proved to be a threat to his plans so when anakin and obi wan failed to fell him on the invisible hand he knew he had to change tactics which where we get that scene in revenge of the sith where he calls upon Grievous in a private transmission and instructs him to take the seperatists leaders to mustafar where he is to wait for his new apprentice "vader" to arrive, as presumably palpatine planned for likely outcomes to occur one with which he was imprisoned an unable to take action or one in which he was killed (although this was accounted for too as he had a secret cloning facility designed solely for his own purpose in which a perfect clone of himself would replace the older decrypted version of himself) in which a dark side turned anakin would turn on the jedi an be crowned the new chancellor/emperor an thus carry out palpatine's plans for the galaxy and all likely hood Anakin himself is likely to have gotten rid of Grievous on his own volition with the argument that he would no longer be requiring his service that or he would look into possibly improving upon the general's cybernetics an rebuilding him as an indestructible force capable of dealing with the force itself lol
All a predator would need to deal with the general would be timing. And who would have gone after greivous? Likley a team of bounty hunters so I'd give it to an elite hunter
"Throw clones at him until he dies" That was the lan i kid you not, it did not need to be anything flashy or well thought-out just throw as many clones at him until he falls.
I’m a little confused how Palpatine’s plans were for Anakin and Obi-Wan to duel Grievous together when Palpatine stated to Dooku he needed Kenobi dead to push Anakin to the dark side.
We know that there were 9 times anakin saved Obi-Wan. But what if these were not just random encounters. Was Darth sideous secretly trying to assinate, Obiwan.
It's hard to say but I believe he would have been more than well equipped to take down Grievous because if he was able to kill most of the Jedi during order 66 not just Masters but younglings I'm pretty sure he would have more than been able to kill Grievous
Anakin beat dooku because dooku was not trying to kill him. Just training and angering him to switch to the dark side. Anakin would have lost against grievous and dooku if they were aloud to kill him.
Grievous was powerful but he was no force user and in fact had to escape capture/death so many times in the series it's almost comical. When Obi finally cornered him without all his droids he defeated him easily.
What would happen to Darth Vader's force potential if he never got burned on Mustafar? How would the people of the Galaxy view Darth Vader knowing that he was once the great Jedi Anakin Skywalker?
Answers: Anakin would be at least twice as powerful ad Palpatine and would have ruled the Galaxy with an iron fist. Once Vader’s identity as Anakin was revealed he went on to become one of the most ill remembered people in galactic history and his memory would be later used against Leia to step down from leading the new republic by her opponents after they leaked their connection
It depends on how the story gets out. To the history books, and most people, he'd never even be known as Vader. He'd be one of the few good Jedi, who helped end their treachery.
hearing this I now feel like we were robbed of a 2003 style General Grievous vs Darth Vader battle and I am now disappointed, Clone wars Grievous wouldn't put up to much of a fight it'd be him trying to escape while Vader walks towards him like a horror movie killer
Brilliant plan! However I think handing the Empire over to his apprentice would not have worked. Vader is a strategic butcher not a politician. But that’s just my opinion
No, he doesn't. Prime Vader would rip Grievous appart with the force if his lightsaber alone is not enough. He defeated an enemy similar to Grievous when fought and killed Karbin.
If grievous doesn’t have a force shield. How come a powerful Jedi couldn’t just crush his metal rib cage? We’ve seen yoda lift pillars, how come something similar couldn’t work?
But say a master like Windu or someone powerful like anakin (I know they both never faced grevious) but if they did could they have the composure to do so? It seems like a much easier feat
Honestly if it was just pure lightsaber combat, I think Anakin would lose even in Episode III. Anakin crafted his version of Djem So solely to defeat Dooku's mastery of Makashi and in essence tire him out. He is all offense with very little defense which was perfect for countering Dooku's style. Grevious however? Is just as strong physically as Anakin and can attack through multiple angles which he'd struggle against. The very reason why Obi-wan triumphed over Grevious was also the same reason why he beat Darth Vader on Mustafar, his mastery of Soresu gave him the means to either tire out the enemy or have them make a mistake and capitalize on it via a wall of plasma known as the lightsaber blade.
Djem So is very well-balanced in terms of offense vs defense. It was inspired & forged by Soresu masters who felt that the form was an incomplete dueling style, as it was 100% defensively based. The underlying goal of Djem So is to have a tight, efficient defense which you'd immediately follow up with strength-based offensive counters.
@@Tyrosine0910 Anakin's variant, not Djem So itself. Anakin's was nearly pure offense which was perfect for dealing with Makashi users but it left him vulnerable to people who could meet his offense blow for blow. We even saw Anakin's flaw as a lightsaber duelist is his overly aggressive and purely offensive style, sacrificing defense for offense way back when he was a Padawan.
I think this video exemplifies exactly why Anakin lost against Obi-Wan, so horribly. Yes Anakin was powerful and capable but he had spent years having the game rigged in his favor causing to him to have success after success after success it build up his confidence 211 that was a liability and then when he became a sith on top of that the overconfidence was doubled. That is why Anakin lost his arms and his legs and got roasted. The failure evader against Obi-Wan was just as much the emperor's. He worked so hard to create a image of the Jedi Golden boy that he like a moron started to believe it himself.

ki fighting and struggling for his life in that instance and mace becoming fully aware that grievous had adapted himself to his saber technique an therefore a big enough threat that he had to blast him with the force to get away from him.
so nerf isn't the right word i would use but rather i'd say it was his limiter being that he was strorng enough to combat jedi masters of council rank in saber combat but not in ways of the force.
In the end his plan was to kill everybody lol
Just like the Joker in the bank heist at the beginning of the Dark Knight.
Of course he needed to, he wanted to make sure that no evidence of the Separatists were left in order to end the Clone Wars. This explains why he had Anakin kill the Trade Federation, separatist leaders and Dooku
This definitely made sense, he would never issue order 66 with grievous alive
Sheev's mistake wasnt having too much fail in Anakin, it was having too low an opinion of Obi-Wan.
Me after Stupendous Wave releases another great video: *ANOTHER FINE ADDITION TO ADD TO MY COLLECTION!*
Would love to play Star wars d&d with this guy
Man, Palpatine was doing some serious 4D Chess lol
I love how General Grievous was going to get out of hand, he'd eventually turn on them too. All I could think was Broly, lol😅
As always the answer depends on when? At what time? Could lil ani from tatuine take him even though this is before grievous was made cyborg pfff not a chance. But later on around the time of revenge of the sith? Then he could possibly.
As always Obi Wan is underestimated. Always showing that wisdom out matches brute strength.
A battle between anakin and grievous, where anakin kills him, would be freakin epic
Anakin's popularity in the eyes of the public would have soared if he put down Griveous
Thank you for the video . Lord Vqrder would destroy grievous has no chance against Darth Vader Revenge of the Sith grievous would have a chance a slim chance but Lord Varder after Mustfar Anakin Skywalker Master of the Force crush .This is what happen lord Varder would grab him with the force .the rip off his legs and arms and then use Force Lighting that has never been seen before .Lord Varder easy win .
Darth Vader with Grievous technology instead of the 1970's robot tech. Oh, the possibilities.
Get the plans and I do believe Anakin would have made spare parts of grevious
I think he could but it would likly come to anakin using force ablities
THAT was a good video
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I believe Maul was gonna get bumped off at the end of the Clone Wars. Maybe match him against Jedi till one finally got him . But anyways it goes I think Maul was never gonna see Sheeve reign
In Canon had Maul not failed on Naboo he would be in the position Dooku had in the original Canon timeline with Dooku serving in a more Tarkin Esque role on steroids yeah.
I think palpatine proved he could have taken out grievous, himself.
Damn I kinda want to see how the galaxy would have been if Palpatines plan went his way
Why couldn't the Jedi or the Sith artificially increase their midichlorian count with bioengineering techniques? Or create for sensitives from non force sensitives?
Might as well do a "What if..." scenerio of General Grievous being able to use the force and/or his brainwaching wearing off.
They were all pawns. Every last one of them. *Wow.*
Grievous: You fool I have been trained in your Jedi arts by Count Dooku! **prepares to draw lightsabers**
Anakin: You do realize that I *killed* Count Dooku right? **ignites lightsaber**
Grievous: O_O
"Shocking!"
Except the 2003 series exaggerated all the main characters abilities.
✨Stupendous video👍
What’s the “invisible hand” that he’s speaking of?
that is the name of the ship Sidious was "captured" on, at the start of ROTS ... Grevious's ship
Why not make more than 1 general greivous? He is my favorite
He did come back in Legends.
Sidious makes no since, he could use Grevious as a body Gaurd, he could capture him and make him forger about the clone wars.
Just my opinion, it would be a waste
I mean worst case scenario, Palpatine could have stomped Grievous easy
He had to have the general killed so he could terminate the Jedi. If grievous was around he would want the sabers
Also, he could have taken Grevious out himself using force lightning if he had to.
i believe it was the hope of palpatine that anakin and obi wan would both succeed in subduing Grievous and in doing so he would declare anakin a hero that ended the confederacy an push for him to become a nominee for the jedi council which would still have ended the same way probably as he knew anakin was frustrated by the council's methods. further more he could use padme as a bargaining chip an convince the naive senator to flee somewhere an set up a trap an or exploit the jedi playing out exactly how he wanted things to.
however palpatine underestimated Grievous' zeal to live an his nihilistic nature an this proved to be a threat to his plans so when anakin and obi wan failed to fell him on the invisible hand he knew he had to change tactics which where we get that scene in revenge of the sith where he calls upon Grievous in a private transmission and instructs him to take the seperatists leaders to mustafar where he is to wait for his new apprentice "vader" to arrive, as presumably palpatine planned for likely outcomes to occur one with which he was imprisoned an unable to take action or one in which he was killed (although this was accounted for too as he had a secret cloning facility designed solely for his own purpose in which a perfect clone of himself would replace the older decrypted version of himself) in which a dark side turned anakin would turn on the jedi an be crowned the new chancellor/emperor an thus carry out palpatine's plans for the galaxy
and all likely hood Anakin himself is likely to have gotten rid of Grievous on his own volition with the argument that he would no longer be requiring his service that or he would look into possibly improving upon the general's cybernetics an rebuilding him as an indestructible force capable of dealing with the force itself lol
IMO, Grievous had a few of the best Droids alongside him.
A4-D, TV-94, and TV-94B.
Sidious could just lift grievous up in the air and crumple him like an empty soda can
Very interesting
Grievous couldn't be outdone... Not in any simple manner, mark my words!
could palpatine not have just force crushed him?
What I find funny. Is that if Palpatine had kept dooku as his apprentice and killed anakin. He may have never actually lost
In my opinion, Sidious underestimated Obi-Won's skill over power.
All a predator would need to deal with the general would be timing. And who would have gone after greivous? Likley a team of bounty hunters so I'd give it to an elite hunter
I thought Palpatine tried to clone Grievous after his death.
Makes sense.
"Throw clones at him until he dies"
That was the lan i kid you not, it did not need to be anything flashy or well thought-out just throw as many clones at him until he falls.
Makes me wonder what if Anakin was sent to Utapau?
I don’t believe whether or not he’s was going to betray grievous or he still has further use for him.
I’m a little confused how Palpatine’s plans were for Anakin and Obi-Wan to duel Grievous together when Palpatine stated to Dooku he needed Kenobi dead to push Anakin to the dark side.
GG cant be stopped 🦾🦾🤖
Couldn’t Force Crush end it all in 5 seconds? Like Luke in The Mandalorian…
Anime Grevious was TERRIFYING!
We know that there were 9 times anakin saved Obi-Wan. But what if these were not just random encounters. Was Darth sideous secretly trying to assinate, Obiwan.
A sound plan, Anakin and Obi-wan were a powerful combo. Anakin was becoming the hero of the republic.
I always would like too se what if anakin got a greavious suit/body i feel like he would be unstopable
The Legendary Obi Wan Kenobi
2003 gerivous would easily kill the emperor of with a huge army of droid's even without droid's he still be able to kill the emperor and Anakin
Dooku was toying with Anakin, as requested by Palpatine. so saying that Anakin defeating Dooku was proof that he could defeat Grievous is not correct.
It's hard to say but I believe he would have been more than well equipped to take down Grievous because if he was able to kill most of the Jedi during order 66 not just Masters but younglings I'm pretty sure he would have more than been able to kill Grievous
just crush his metal body with the force not hard to kill fo a dark side user like palpatine or even dooku
"Holy Hannah!" 😍
Anakin beat dooku because dooku was not trying to kill him. Just training and angering him to switch to the dark side. Anakin would have lost against grievous and dooku if they were aloud to kill him.
The jedi only regards the jedi the sith the dathonirians[in a neutral way) and one other people as tribes that can touch the force
Grievous did have a chance against Vader!
No, he doesn't. Prime Vader would rip Grievous appart with the force if his lightsaber alone is not enough. He defeated an enemy similar to Grievous when fought and killed Karbin.
Lol yea “ferocious demon” he literally gets his ass kicked everytime
If grievous doesn’t have a force shield. How come a powerful Jedi couldn’t just crush his metal rib cage?
We’ve seen yoda lift pillars, how come something similar couldn’t work?
Grievous basically breaks the Jedi's composure before they can do anything.
Or in other words: He's an unstoppable force and overwhelms his opponents
What would happen if Anakin dueled General Grievous?
Man how you know all this? You talked to George?
