Ah, yes, not saying they're not dangerous. Do you know how many times one of those motherf*ckers has smacked off something? Still, it's funny to fight Ghaul in D2 and see him actually look normal whereas Consul is old and actually fat.
This also helps to explain why the boss was actually anxious about his being Chosen by Caiatl before the smackdown. Not only is the enemy champion the guy who almost singlehanded destroyed your legion, but they’re coming with two of their buddies specifically to vaporize your space rhino hide into thin air in a duel both you and your empress know you’re not gonna win but that you have to fight anyway, because the high brass thought that they could win against humanity and refused to ally as equals
I remember some higher level players took me to Mars before I had it unlocked and when I first saw the cabal I was like WHAT ARE THESE THINGS THEY'RE HUGE
Instantly recognized this song when it played in proving grounds. Bungie is still killing it with the music man! Still remember my kinderguardian days going up against the cabal underleveled in D1 for the first time.
Yes to the first, no to the 2nd. Bungie created a beautiful world and story and then Activision stepped in and butchered it which is why the final storyline was so iffy. I read the original Destiny storyline from an article and DAMN was it sooo good! The Traveller was Actually EVIL, and a being that tricked civilisations by promising advancing technology and then used said technology summon the Vex to conquer entire universes. The Darkness are actually the survivors of alien civilisations i.e. Fallen and Cabal that were previously destroyed by the Traveler and are now out for revenge against it. Also the only reason humanity didn't get a Vex invasion was because Rasputin the Warmind detected something shifty about the Traveler and fired a crap ton of missiles at it to stop it from creating a portal to summon the Vex. This is why humanity doesn't trust Rasputin because they thought it went rogue, and why Rasputin doesn't trust Guardians, since they're a product of the Traveler. In it's last act before going dormant, the Traveler made Ghosts and gave them the false mission of finding humans to "fight for humanity and awake the Traveler for a new Golden Age" but really it just needed convenient meat-shields to protect and buy it time while it strengthened itself enough to summon the Vex again.
Everything about the Cabal was so cool in D1. Wish they kept some of their themes in D2 instead of everything being Red Legion-ified. Edit; I should specify I wasn't just talking about music, I also meant design themes and aesthetics of the Cabal, but I appreciate the irony that I said this just one day before this exact song was re-released as a remix in D2.
lol funny how you said that one day before they remixed this song as metal, but i get you, for some reason every cabal in D2 is red legion, i really miss the Sand Eaters, Dust Giants, Siege Dancers and what not. Same for the fallen houses.
