That looks great.
Looks good great job.
Is it softer under foot than the slab, and how well would equipment with small wheels more around on the surface?
what color tiles are those?
does it hold the weight of a 6.6L 2023 Sierra Heavy Duty?
These look nice, but they're not practical for a regular garage. I can't imagine spilling oil or anything not water based on those. Would be such a hassle removing tiles to clean the floor underneath, let alone getting oil off those tiles.
we’ll that’s the entire idea. it would push the oil and other substances out the front of the garage. then you can just wash your driveway.
I’ve have a garage floor that is not level and water drains and pools to one side of the garage and then to the opposite side as well. What are your thoughts on putting down this type of tile? Also pulling in a car does the tile move? What about tire marks? Thank you,
I park my car in the garage every day. There are no tire marks & there is no discoloring from the tiles. I’m really happy with this product. My floor has a small spot water pools but the openings in the tile still allows the water to evaporate. So it’s no different than letting it sit on the floor now
Have you dragged any heavy items into the garage? I'm thinking of doing this but I drag stuff in/out all the time and am afraid that I'll end up lifting and tearing the tile.
Been checking this out on the Race Deck site. What's your take on it now that you've had it down for 2 months? Did you consider the accupark tile that they offer? Yours looks fantastic.
Hi Steel, we still love the flooring & would definitely recommend it. I did not look at accupark. Thanks!
I am trying to decide between this product and epoxy. The only thing i am concerned about is dirt and water accumulation from snow underneath. i live in Colorado and in winter time, it gets pretty messy. Also, have you noticed any damage or discoloration from hot tires in summer time? Thanks!
I’ve had a few epoxy floors done. They get slippery as shit and you always have to keep applying clear coat with anti slip sand in it and in a few months it’s wears off again. But I use my garage a lot for work.
I hope you did not buy this junk. Sure it kind of looks cool but with snow and slash it would be terrible in the Northeast
Did you use the Freeflow XLC or just the regular Freeflow tiles? Looks like they are the bigger ones. Trying to do the math for how much you paid per square foot, just not sure which one you used
I just used the regular tiles. I thought XLC would look too big in my garage
Looks awesome! Did you go with the free flow 12x12 or the free flow XLC (commercial version)?
Looks great! What brand tile cutter did you use?
When I moved into my house 5 years ago, the previous owner allowed his leaking car to accumulate a pool of oil on the concrete floor. He put an absorbent mat to soak up the oil but never cleaned it. The concrete was eaten away to a depth of 1 inch. My concern with the type of flooring is that oil would drop through the tiles and accumulate in a similar way. What do you think? Does the company offer solid tiles for under the car?
@@thatteslacouple The project is on my list. Probably next year if no surprises pop up
Now, a year later. How did these tiles hold up over a year? Did you park your car on them regularity, daily? Do you get snow in your area? Did the tiles slip or buckle from wear?
Hi Paul, after a year the tiles held up & still look new. I’m in Tx so we rarely get snow. We did this year though & it didn’t cause any issues. I park my car in the garage every day. There is no discoloration or buckling
Is the tile solid enough to prevent paint dripping through or is it vented?
This one is vented so paint would drip through. They have designs that are solid though
Nice
Thank you for the video. Very helpful. I just received my shipment from racedeck today. Have not opened up any of the boxes but I have noticed that all the boxes and numbers are the same. I do not see the trim pieces that I ordered on the boxes. How were your trim pieces packed? I called Racedeck but the person I talked today could not answer the question. It is Saturday. I hope they are there on Monday when we plan to begin installation. I bout a cutter from Amazon for about $120.
Hi Joe, the trim pieces were in a box similar to the race deck tiles. I’d recommend opening all of them & taking a look inside. Hopefully they included them in your shipment
if you drive your car on iand then turn your wheels does it move the product
98% time it does not. If you come in & the tire hits a tile at the right angle it will push part of the floor up. Just backing up & re entering the garage will fix it though
Can you rent the tile cutter. Also how does it look today?
Is this water proof, or does it prevent water to seep underneath?
@@tracyf9233 I think technically yes but I wonder if it would slide without having walls on each side keeping it in place.
How is the durability of the tiles as of today ?
Really good! They look just like they did the day I installed them. No chips or cracks on any of them
You can rent those tile cutters for the day from Home Depot or Lowe’s.
That is a good option too. Didn’t think about that. That tile cutter is just sitting in the attic now lol
@@thatteslacouple haha I wasted a day trying to cut vinyl tiles with an exacto knife before figuring this out. Didn’t want to spend $200 on a tile cutter to install $200 worth of tiles in a pantry room in my basement but after many curse words I got smart and found out they rented what I needed 👍
What size are the tiles you are installing?
I used the Free Flow tile that covers 1 sq ft. per tile. They also sell a larger one, Free Flow XLC that covers 2.25 per sq ft. Hope this helps
How forgiving is it on uneven concrete floor
I didn’t level mine & you wouldn’t be able to tell. No issues during install either
I appreciate your insight! I am actually about to install this floor come spring time. Picking colors right now. What color was that? Black? I sub you and will check out the rest of your vids real soon!
Thanks for subscribing & watching the video. No, it’s not black. My floor is actually the Graphite. I love this floor. I’m still in love with it
@@thatteslacouple ok cool! That was my second guess. Thank you! Tace care!
I watched your video till the end but, you never showed how the garage turned out. It would of been nice to see the end result especially the side edges. Still the video was nice .
You didn’t show the finished product? Before / After pics?
The thumbnail is the finished product. That’s my garage it’s not a stock photo
@@thatteslacouple cool but seeing it in a video is better. Would like to have seen a close up on the male and female ends. I sat this because I just built a 24x36 garage and I got a quote for epoxy @ 8000 and my guess is I can do race deck for 3-4K . Was just tossing the ideas around. Anyways looks good nice work.
@@J297WFD that makes sense. I may do a follow up video to include some of the questions I’ve received. I will make sure to include this
The funny thing is, the tiles hes installing look like there's 16 by 16 the tiles hes cutting. Look like they're 12 by 12. Something's not right here.
How can you be lost? You are cutting a much smaller tile than your putting down
$2,000 for a lego set!! wow
They say their pieces are 1sqft but yours look like 24in × 24in
I actually measured them today just to double check. They are 12x12 inches
All of these tiles come from China and are made exactly the same. Save money and go with a more affordable tile. Should be around $2.43 to 2.69 a sqft. Free shipping also.
I wish Canadian prices were as reasonable as what you paid. We're extorted up here.
Wow that’s not cheap 😅 I really want some but 1500
They last forever, unlike epoxy which is a permanent and still a costly option
You could also just Rent a tile cutter from Home depot
$1,900 for a plastic floor God dam what's this world coming to. 😳
You're right, spend $3,000 for epoxy that will chip off in a few years...🙄
Am I missing something? This looks like it would be a huge dirt filter and very difficult to clean. Educate me.
No, it’s really not. I use a shop vac & it vacuums between the space in the tiles. I vacuum the garage once a week since I workout in there
This isnt the correct tiles for garage. These are made of Polypropylene, so they are quite hard and easy to break in case of any tool will fall on the floor. Also, the gab on the tiles makes the substrate exposed to oil (permanent damage of the substrate), dirt, water and so on. These tiles are great in indoor for garages only in case there is significant humidity coming up from the substrate and it's necessary to have ventilation between the floor and the substrate
I disagree. These aren’t easy to break. I workout on this floor & haven’t had any break. Using a basic shop vac & you are able to get most dirt from underneath the tiles. I recommend this product
These tiles are rated at 80,000 lbs of load capacity so how is dropping a tool going to damage one? This tile is specifically designed to allow water and other liquids to flow through them. If you don't want liquids to pas through get a solid surface tile.
LOL - dude - do you actually own these tiles?? - I have 4 garages filled with RaceDeck, one even with a 4 post lift on TOP of these tiles. The only issue I've ever had with them is someone leaving a hot soldering iron on one - which was easily replaced.
@@revivingretro i work in this industry, and I can't tell you that according the reclamation I've seen, you have been quite lucky
@@dariopalumbo5860 I guess I have been uber lucky with my real-world experience having 4 massive garages with lifts sitting on two different manufacturer tiles (I collect show cars). RaceDeck just happens to be my personal favorite, and never once experiencing the issue you describe in the 8+ years I've been using their tiles.
Not practical at all. Dirt, water, oil or anything else in it. Unbelievable!
Had one for 3 years in WI. Garage floor had a drain. Dismantled in 4 panel wide sections and dragged out into the driveway. Vacuumed the sand and dirt off the floor and reinstalled in 2 hours every spring. Worked great!
Don't follow this gut instruction.. go to racetrack and watch that video
im trying to get past a sweaty wet garage floor, will this sweat?
I haven’t experienced that with or without the tiles. Since the tile is elevated my guess would be no, they would not get wet on the top surface
Congratulations it’s looks beautiful can you please load up the finish product of your garage floor with all the trim’s all around , everything installed . Thanks excellent job .
