Excellent explanation again. You should be teaching classes on the side professionally. But, I know you and your daughter must be in high demand! Thank you for sharing your know-how so freely.

Very informative, I too like to put on the basic white when the skull is wet , I think it penetrates better, great job

AIR BRUSH! BRILIANT. I have a dead head too that I have put 3 coats of developer on and it still has a light yellow patches here and there.

Yep, works like a charm with those pesky skulls that there is just no way to whiten thoroughly! Just use your super hide white lacquer airbrush paint and it blends right in. 👍

@KCTaxidermy I was wondering about color and type. Thank you so very much. My dead heads are locked antlers that are at least 12 years old. Dogs chewed the noses off and such. Great project for first euro right!

Your videos are great and you do good work! I know you are able to fix the burr discoloration afterwards with stain, but I think if you took a quick minute to tape those up you will end up with a better quality mount. The reason is because you would keeping more of the natural/original color of the burr of the antler!

I spent lots of time at first trying different techniques to protect the base or the Antler and found that wrapping, taping, etc, was a lot of work for nothing. (My personal experience) Water or the solution always still managed to creep in and make the issue just as bad and further up the antler than the method I have decided to go with. It's all preference, though. I personally don't believe there is a right or wrong way to do anything, it's about finding what works best for you. 👍
