Ken, thank you for all your continued support and sending this link to me. Another great video. We'll talk tomorrow to finalize the order. That Maverick looks so great I wouldn't want to put in the water. LOLs Jimmy
Ken, another topic...what pad for a DA polisher and polish would you recommend for polishing and protecting an aluminum boat trailer for a Ranger 2510? Thanks.
Great Questions. Generally we estimate a life of a coating at 18-24 months in FL with this exact combination. Other less harsh environments will see an extended period. The marine environment as you know is a lot more harsh than say ceramic coating a car. If you want to keep it looking great and lasting, a proper maintenance plan needs to be put in place. I suggest a reapplication of one coat of Thor every 12-18 months will keep it fresh for years to come.
Hello and thanks for a great video. I live in Norway and have for many years tried different coatings (mostly waxes, but also ceramic), but not found the best yet. My experience is that it's not the hull below fender list that is the problem, it's the top housing, flybridge etc. that is exposed for rain, sun, dirt etc. In Norway we get this black stripes that really sits to the gelcoat. All coating seems to do a good job in 4-8 weeks, but then the dirt starts to stick. The best product I have tried so far is Ceramic coating from Aglaze. But that also lost it's effect after 3 months. This year I went back to wax again and tried Fuzzo99. Cheap and gave a good result for 2 months. So, why should I try Starke? How I am gonna know what to use in the jungle of all products out there? Btw, I have 37 foot motor yacht (coupe) from the Swedish brand Nord West. How much product do I need to do the whole boat?
Hi there, not too sure if it was in the video or if I missed it but with regular maintenance how long would you expect this combo to last? Really enjoying learning about these product!
Really depends on the environment it’s kept, how’s it maintained, How old or new the boat is. With all that being said, in FL we like to give an average of 18-24 months. In more Northern states you can safely say longer.
With a multi 6 step super stack process 😲ie...Level R, Elevate(now swithing to Finish R), Ignition, Hyerhold then RepelPro and Liquid Thor. Can you use Ceramic over a Si0s Polymer with of course surface Pro before Ceramic coating? Can it help for longevity to use the polymer then ceramic coat? Starke superfan.
I would say ceramic would be the base layer on a clean prepped surface, due to the fact the hardness and longevity over a sio2 based product. You can always use an sio2 as a 'refresher' if you will over a ceramic to bring back some of the hydrophobic properties and or gloss if need be. Doing ceramic over sio2 would essentially be putting a longer product ( the ceramic ) on top of a less product ( the sio2) so it would last nowhere near as long as mentioned, but vis versa would be good to go if properly bonded to the surface.
If you're contemplating ceramic coating, Hyper Hold Pro is not necessary. Instead, we recommend opting for a SiO2 maintenance product such as Replenish, which should be applied every other month. This routine helps keep the coating fresh and prevents any potential clogging issues.
Curious as to why there was no debadging done as far as FL numbers during application, or maybe the video didn't show it, but also where the boat sits on guides up front? As far as the Starke, what makes it a true ' marine grade coating '? The reason I ask is because, it's nothing for other manufacturers to use a very now standard 9H coating, with some having a higher viscosity and some lower while not being labeled as Marine grade but still having the ' super glue' type viscosity as mentioned for a Marine grade coating. Trying to pick your brain here to sell me on Starke over others such as IGL, etc.
Regarding vinyl decals, it's actually unnecessary to remove them when ceramic coating a boat. In fact, coating over them can help prolong their lifespan. Similarly, we recommend coating over the boat manufacturer emblems for added protection. As for what qualifies a coating as "Marine Grade," I would defer to the chemists at STARKE for a more detailed explanation. As i am not one. LOL! However, what I can share is that our formulations contain precise amounts of Cyclosilanes, Polysilazane, siloxane, and other components designed to effectively bond to gel coat and withstand the harsh marine environment. While there are indeed many reputable manufacturers and brands of coatings available, it's worth noting that STARKE products have been trusted by tens of thousands of marine installers for over six years, consistently delivering outstanding results. This track record speaks volumes about their performance and reliability.

Thank you for the kind words
With these products, how long before the application cures?
24hrs. Give it 36hrs before it goes in the water and 7days before performing a contact wash with a soap.
@ can these products also be used on cars?
Can you use liquid thor on cars
? Or motorcycles
Thank you, I learned a lot today.
Great video. Do you use the same process/products to coat the nonskid? Is coated nonskid slippery? Thanks.
It’s very similar. We recently did a video on coating a non-skid ua-cam.com/video/gYTrRmxPbGI/v-deo.htmlsi=zh70mOrbYcfGW8IJ

I like running the Flitz ball with STARKE Metal polish.
Repel pro flashed almost instantly for me outside . It would also rainbow instead of sweat
@@detailzautodetailing643 Yes, temperature, humidity and wind all play a factor.
I do mobile detailing, dont have a shop. What are you thoughts on doing ceramic coat on a boat in sun, where i live it wont get into crazy 100's.
How long does the protection of ceramic coating last ? I have a brand new boat. What happens at the end of the coating life? RE-coat ?

Have a Lund Aluminum Boat, can i use this type of coating on a Aluminum boat,Thanx.
Yes, but I believe you’ll have better success with STARKE Aluminum coating on that vessel. The application is a bit different too.

Do you prep with triple p?
That’s what we suggest but not required
@@MarineDetailSupply can I skip the ignition polish and use triple p polish instead? The reason I ask is I have a g23 paragon I’m doing next week.
Does apply to fiberglass 5th wheel rvs?
Absolutely
@@MarineDetailSupply thank you very much.
