God puts rest of king David's life in battles to purify him. For His first temple He does not permit David to build His temple but to prepare materials for his son Solomon to accomplish. God will not only save our souls to take us out of eternal death. He offsets our debt (sin) by His blood and gives us His spirit to guide us. Then, He baptises us with fire to purify us till we totally disappear - die to ourselves.
