My instructor told me that my closed guard is really good, but my open guard sucks. So he said I can't use closed guard for a month in class. This material is going to help so much! Thank you for posting!
Cool. From other sources usually the Spider Guard is when you have at least one foot in the opponent's biceps. When your Foot is around the oponents arm is usually Lasso Guard. So maybe those techniques could by called sweeps and attack submissions from the Lasso Guard. thanks for teaching and sharing knowledge!
Hi Tigogringo21, I'm actually the one who manages Caio's youtube channel. He does look at the comments, but he doesn't usually have to time to respond. It's best if you visit his website and contact him there with your question. But in regards to your second question about your opponent posting his left leg, the second technique shows the counter to when your opponent does so. Best.
Question: After you get to the point where you´re right leg is beneath the opponent and you run your hip to the left why would you cross his arm on the direction that you are throwing him? Does'nt that give him a possible base to prevent the throw? Also to block this sweep does'nt he just have to throw out his left leg in order to spread his base? Great technique, but I am just starting so if you could clear these points up it would be great.
It's loading his weight forward to make the sweep work. If you maintain the grip on the other side, his balance is not heavy to the sweep side and he's going to stand up or post his foot a lot easier. He cant post his hand if you maintain the grip.
As a brown belt ... almost always a favorite side. Certain moves you end up using both sides, but most moves at higher levels are always done to a favorite side.
can you people (or top fighters in general) do all these advance techniques just as good on both sides, left and right ? or you always have, with each technique, a favourite side ?
dr andrei, yes it is as good on both sides, but each fighter have a favorite side, you must practice both sides , because you dont know which will help you better on fight
its a japanese word meant used by karate judo and ju jutsu practitioers (and now i guess bjj and mma) for a very long time. it is thought to imply respect brotherhood, or be a verbalization of fighting spirit or life energy or something like that.
Hi everyone :) *I have a reasonably long torso, but short legs and short arms.. Can anyone please give me some expert direction about which techniques are best and worst suited to someone of my physique? Thanks in advance*
no cuz everyone has a different style and favorite stuff. i can tell you what i think would work but it might not, just develop your game and work on what you like

Very nice. Is there a good way to adapt these to a standing opponent?
There is a sick knee bar , when he tries to pull away from that armbar. I see lots of knee bars!!!
Can you do example of stretching and rotations for body maintenance... before and after rolling?
