Being from the States, I have been enjoying many of the videos you have posted of your lovely Holiday Homes! They are not unlike the permanent housing we have available, set up in dedicated parks, such as your own - but not nearly as lovely for the views! - but more for primary permanent housing in most cases.
Although in our own vacation and retirement spots around the country, such as the Southwest in Arizona, New Mexico and Nevada, as well as down in Florida in the southeast, they are also used for seasonal vacation homes, and for retired folk who relocate there for their later years.
I have been especially admiring the units with integrated appliances, particularly your front loading washing machines.
One unit I saw in another video (I don't recall whose it was right now) actually included a small utility room with a utility type sink at one side and the washing machine installed across from it. Of course the whole room wasn't much wider than the machine itself, but still, it was nice to have the dedicated space for just the laundry.
And I have a question about them. I know your appliances are constructed to different standards and features than our own in some respects. Front loading washers have really become quite popular here in the last, say 15 years or so (I'm guessing, because I still have a top loading machine) but, all they do is wash and rinse and spin dry the clothes, ready to be transferred to the clothes dryer, another separate machine altogether, or to be hung outside on the clotheslines, which are not too popular anymore, mostly for lack of time and space. Do your washers function as heated clothes dryers as well? I haven't seen any separate appliance that provides that function, so I'm thinking they must, but thought I would ask anyway.
Your fridges, even standard residential units that I have seen, are also very much smaller than ours tend to be in most cases. Is this because of more of a tendency to shop more frequently than we do, which is weekly at the least, and biweekly for many, because of biweekly payroll cycles. Or strictly because of their space saving features, and lower utility usage? My refrigerator freezer stands taller than my head, with the freezer on top, and the whole thing is about 21 cubic feet inside. We can easily store at least two weeks worth of most things, and a week's worth of more perishable and quicker used but bulky items, like gallon jugs of milk, and so forth. How do your shopping patterns adapt to your smaller appliances?
Thanks so much for reading this all the way through - I know it's long and a good bit detailed, but I wanted to include a bit of background information so you'd have some idea of my perspective on the subject. Cheers!
