They don't just update dictionaries for the revenue stream. Subjective associations between words are valid, even if they seem inappropriate to you. trakkaton is just making a blasé connection between the passage of history and the war crimes of our predecessors. They are literally different words, and despite that they can be used to reach the same meaning.

      If the British gamed this out, 5 years in Belmarsh followed by a time served plea deal would have been a good way of ending the Assange situation without diplomatic war with the US and without the fallout of actually extraditing him to the US, which, by treaty, the UK is bound to do. The whole thing stinks. I hope Julian Assange can now live a happy life.

      Yes, it is. My case is of course much smaller, but my old man, an ex hockey star (Marian Stastny) saw his Canadian land stolen by organized crime from Slovakia in league with local Canadian authorities. I exposed that and continue to do so, so I got beaten by police and imprisoned in Canada. Now I have criminal charges against me, and staying in Canada, knowing I won't get a fair trial is not attractive (if I leave I might end up with a criminal record, a felony, pinned on me by corrupt authorities).

    I'm simultaneously delighted to hear this, for him and his family, and disgusted by the behaviour of the UK Government in this whole case. It's a pity he was pushed into the position of plea bargaining, I guess so the US can claim a precedent to threaten others with, but I wish him and his family well for the future.

    I can't stop crying. It was his wife Stella who spearheaded this last leg of the fight to free him. He was the clearest signal that freedom is in jeopardy for all of us. He is one of history's most courageous heroes. Thank God he's able to be released alive. Please go to him and do another documentary. This is wonderful.
