  • ‘What is the charge? Eating a meal? A succulent Chinese meal?’
A moment in Australian history so ingrained into our psyche, the arrest has its own Wikipedia page.
Jack Karlson was falsely arrested outside a Chinese restaurant in Fortitude Valley on October 11, 1991. A new documentary about the incident has now begun production in Queensland.
10 News First will be speaking to Karlson tonight, alongside one of the arresting officers.
