Yeah been running it like that a long time, tried magnets and other cummerbund mounts but had more issues. This is a Blackhawk “weapons catch”, they still make them.
@beck5492 they sell their own that are designed to cover your entire side or you can buy a velcro side plate pocket to stick to the inside of the cumberbund in whatever side plate size you want as long as you dont go with something huge. Ferros fit the plate carrier best though and these guys all mentioned how comfortable they are because they really hug your sides.
I upgraded from the Slickster to the FCPC V5. Very happy that I purchased one. The FCPC is super comfortable. I don't think the FCPC gets the attention it deserves.
It's neat to see a breacher using something other than a serbu as their shotgun selction. Having an almost full sized shotgun means you could effectively use it if your rifle goes down, and it gives the ammo versatility of the 12 gauge
Overall it’s a cool carrier. Love the side armor taking the weight off the shoulders. Where I’m at we have to run hard plates on the side though. Wish there was a way to have both.
Another option if you are running hard side plates are the spiritus options. They have a pocket that takes a solid plates and soft 3a behind it that wraps around similarly to Ferro.
Hello guys, a question for you ( the answer could help many others buying over internet) : How did you go about figuring out what size to order for your cummerbunds, seeing that you all have different waist sizes and you all have to take into account the usage of soft body armor (also maybe hard armor) but also inner radio pouches....and that those elements need to be taken into consideration before ordering a (needed) given cummerbund size?
I stuck mine between the back of the plate carrier and the flap that holds the plate in place. It works great. But my biggest concern is Velcro that holds in the insert in place.
A little late so I hope you see this! Just an initial guess, Do you think the side plate system would be compatible with my current spiritus lv119? I can’t justify a new plate carrier over what I have but the slide plate system is just what I’ve been looking for from a coverage standpoint.
@@oriontraininggroupllc2782the crye avs cummerbund has Velcro loop on the inside and it is compatible with the lv119 if you are interested on running it on one.

Yeah. Didn’t think of that. My skedco has cobra buckles. It’s great when it’s clean. You can get a casualty in there quick but after training for a day or just sitting in the back of a truck those buckles are fucked…
The Spiritus LV-119 and Ferro FCPV5 are nearly identical in price, between the two, which one is more suited to the hot and humid environment of Louisiana?
Identical in price, V5 light years ahead in modularity and function in my opinion (having used both). I abhor the shoulder straps on the LV119. As far as hot and humid weather, that’s more to do with base layer and keeping the plates off your body a bit (like pontoons or the way the soft armor panels on the V5 allow a space to breathe). I wouldn’t say one or the other is necessarily better for that reason alone, unless you’re running some kind of spacer on either one.
Yeah that would be a great addition. My Units SOP requires side plates. I currently run my Crye JPC w/ the issued side plates and pouches. It definitely sag’s a good bit…
@@oriontraininggroupllc2782 it would be greatly appreciated. Their site mentions the level 3+s which is the same size as all the rest so should be fine but the person running their IG replied and said there might not be full Velcro engagement. I’m a believer as well, this replaced my AVS and I haven’t looked back. Been running it a year w the hydration and banger back panels. Perfection.
Does it hold weight as well as the avs

How'd you rig up the Shockwave like that? The single bungee running from the shoulder strap I mean.
Only thing I don’t like about the rear bag is the lack of Velcro to hold the Roll1 in place
Yeah. One of the first things we addressed with them. Hopefully can they can lengthen the Velcro strip while maintaining elasticity of the bag

It interfaces directly to the 3AC with corresponding hook and loop panels, so if the LV119 cbund you have allows for that, then perhaps.
No problems getting a new cummerbund if it’s needed to support the side armor. Thanks!
