    These Bosch’s are definitely still better than the newest ones made.

      It seems to be as the years go on, materials get cheaper and cheaper. Designs get cheaper and cheaper. More and more technology is introduced.
      The only thing on the minds of the manufacturers is "money". They refuse to fix the old ones(that are made to be fixed) because it requires effort, and they lobby people to go the "efficient capitalist" route and by a crap new one thats made out of thin cheap crap, has a lot of needless tech in it, and is possibly not made to be reparable according to one very long comment on The Laundry Center's "A response to Whichwasher2007's video. Hotpoint 9530 review. Is it fair? A more honest look." which says that the spiders are RIVETED to the drums on washing machines instead of bolted.
      Talk about corporate businessman greed right there. And also talk about people's laziness too, always taking the "easy capitalist route" out which will only end in difficulty in the long term.

    Eventually, i like bosch. But your videos make my day because my bosch (it died) jumped in the walls so maybe i actually hate it and like it.
    But i own a brilliant washer which adds extra water to it! So now my washer live is pretty okay.

    • @bootsowen

      I don't like them, From what I have seen of these 10-20 year old machines the spiders break and the motors die. I like the older ones, 1990s, that's why I have them to use everyday! I like WFF.

      @@bootsowen Yeah same, although their performance is quite good on the older Bosches which look like the ones in the Video. But like every other brand they reduce the build quality and washing performance and make fancy designed products. It's really a shame, the old Bosches you use are perfect in every way and worth keeping.

Because I can't shoot videos privately in which washing machines destroy themselves!! Maybe you can give me some tips on where to get the washing machines and the stones?? I would be very happy about it, and I love your videos!!

    Entertaining as it might be Owen, I just don’t get it. Why do you put the time and effort collecting and repairing those machines if you’re going to trash them in the end, or are those just the ones you couldn’t fix?

    • @bootsowen
      @bootsowen  3 роки тому +6

      Whenever I get something I try to repair it. Sometimes I will repair something that isn't worth it if I might learns something from it. But I am not willing to throw money away on something like this. So all 3 of these machines had damaged spiders and 2 had broken motors. this is what these machines tend to fail on. The cost of a new drum and spider, the cost of a new motor? I have tried to sell these machines, maybe £30 is all I would get. I had a fourth similar machine that I did fix, I made loads of videos of working on the motor to get it going. My friends have that in their house, It was advertised or months on the internet for sale for a small amount of money and nobody wanted it! So I gave it away to someone I knew. What appears on the channel is only a small shot of life.
      Now, look at it another way, I made a video of a washing machine on a trampoline, almost 5million people have watched it on my channel. Many more elsewhere. I suspect that video makes people laugh and wonder. Is it worth it to sacrifice one machine to make something entertaining?
      That machine maybe could have been fixed, but still nobody will buy an old machine where I live, in a big city. Even the poorest people in the UK can get credit, at extortionate rates, on appliances and other things. It seems to me that most people prefer debt. Sure there are some folks, like me who like to keep an older thing going and to use a recycled or repurposed thing, but I know I am in the minority. There are more broken appliances than people who want to buy or even take a working used machine! This is society!
      Also, I don't have a TV, so I have to entertain myself somehow!

      Did you see the video I posted yesterday about repairing a bicycle? I wonder if UA-cam promotes my repair videos, because they don't get many views, whereas washing machine destruction videos always get loads of views.

    • @VinceDonkovWorks
      @VinceDonkovWorks 3 роки тому +1

      @@bootsowen I did. Though have to admit I skipped through as I have done repairs like this when I was 10 and building me a bike from old parts my dad replaced on his bike. Needless to say I then found the hard way what's the crackling noise coming out the wheels... ah and not to do jumps with my bike lol. Honestly, nowadays I struggle to find the mental energy to even start watching a video longer than 10-15 minutes. Maybe you can put a short one with a compilation of sorts to show only the key tricks and tips and announcement to the full video with a link. A teaser for the actual video if you want...
