I think that the heat sink is present because keeping the battery cool under load greatly improves the charge/discharge capacity. At least it’s something I’ve read about how Tesla approach it..

you measured the balance wires incorrectly, they are in the connector in a weird way and you were measuring multiple series. they are a 17s so the voltage was around 1.2v per pack. if your playing with these you should work it before posting a video as you will inspire people to take theirs apart and attempt a repair. if charged incorrectly they WILL cause damage and potential fire. I have repaired a number of these now (50+) and I am still cautious with each one.

i just bought a second hand battery like this one. all the sells are on 4v so there good. i cut the normal + and - conector and solderd a anderson on there. this should not affect the balancing right? i also charge with a difrent charger. a anderson 4a 69.7v charger. i should be good to go right?

Hello battery doctor, I have a NIU 60v26ah battery when it is at 100% it measures 70.5v. The link of the original charger has 5 terminals, 2 are + and - the other 3 do you know what they are for? Do you know something about the BMS @The Battery Doctor ? I am trying to read the % of charge via BMS. To make a circuit with socket and raspberry Pi to keep it at 50% but also being able to charge it only to 80% or 90% to increase battery life but also not having to look every day for correct charging. Such a automatic device will be cool.

no. The customer did not want a repair but i assume NIU seller have accesses to smart functions. But if you want smart functions you might want a smart BMS. You can have 2 parallell BMS systems in most cases.

The batter was verry low and I am trying to jack it up, the battery now gives around 58volts, but after the bms i measure 29,6 and it is not enough for the charger to take over and I can't get it any higher. Do you know what might be the problem? Is the bms failing?

With smart BMS like this they usually STOp working when voltage is to LOW and usually you need to connect it to a PC and have the right software to reset it.
