Jason Mills apparently if you live outside US, it is still haunting you even in adult phase. Yeah thx hasbro for wallmart exclusive.... Sincerely rest of the world.
Why can't it be like in the old days where they sold Darth Vader action figures and special ones where you can take the helmet off. it's not even good anymore either because I haven't seen a single Clone Trooper figure in Years
@@joseparcenary4706 clones are pretty cool and I've been hunting down the cool mandalorian super comandoes and republic figure packs they sold around the 2005? I belive
kids just don´t play with figurines as much as they used to. They have fortnite. Girls won´t ply with them because they have molded clothing and uninteresting storyline.
*+Geert Matthys* Netflix is hardly a landfill, sir. And the discarded directors can be virtually guaranteed work just by putting 'fired by filthy bitch Kennedy' on their resumes.
I believe the discarded directors just stand up, dust themselves off as they walk off into the distance filled with regret for supporting sjw propaganda films
When they released the force awakens toys, I remember hasbro and Lucasfilm getting trashed for not having enough Rey figures in stores. They argued that action figures of female characters don’t sell, and were called misogynistic, sexist etc. After that, they went overboard in making figures of Rey, Rose Tico, Jin Erso, Holdo etc. and they didn’t sell. Moral of the story, Identity politics = plastic landfill.
Women as action movie leads aren't at all a bad thing, if done right. Look at Ripley, Princess Leia, Sarah Connor, Wonder Woman, and Furiosa. The problem with characters like Captain Marvel and Rey is that they are symbols, not characters. They're flawless, good at everything, and entirely empty. Its as if studios execs said "Okay we need a female lead, but she can't have flaws or a personality because that won't sell toys and might make women look bad." Its the same problem I had with Superman in Man of Steel and BvS. He was just a symbol, a blank slate, an untouchable godlike figure. It wasn't till Justice League that gave him a personality. By that time, it was too little, too late, and in a crappy movie, to boot.
maybe if they made actually interesting characters worth buying figures of... Like, Black Widow and Wonder Woman figures seem to sell just fine. Why? Because they're actually cool characters!
It's not that female action figures aren't marketable it's the fact that with any action figure people need to like thr character first, male or female doesn't matter. Fact is the female starwars characters are boring and annoying. Modern female characters are just all about pushing an agenda while the older ones are pushing a story.
Our Toys r Us are finally closing in Australia now. The hate for Tico is worldwide. There was so much of her left that they had her own section aside from the rest of toys. Nobody wants her.
Hate? I don't hate the character, I'm just disappointed in the storyline as a whole; it makes no sense whatsoever. But then, SJW motivated actions seldom do.
I honestly feel bad for the actress. Imagine how cool it must be when you find out that there's going to be Star Wars toys with your likeness. Then imagine how it must feel when there are literally millions of them that go unsold because nobody liked your character.
Both greedy corporations are showing signs of old age, the greedy become more greedy and believe that they can force their consumers to buy products and ignore consumer critisism. These big greedy corporations have supposed to have died a long time ago.
Scott B Disney has been "like EA" before EA even existed! Just look at the shit they've gotten passed in copyright law, I hated them long before they touched Star Wars. I also hate them for setting up to fail one of my favorite movies ever, Treasure Planet, but that's another topic.
The thing about Disney is their abuse of copyright law. Steamboat Willie belongs in the public domain. Disney argues it'll lose control over Mickey Mouse if it allows this, which is false. That's trademark law, which exists in perpetuity so long as a company is actively using it. Disney has always been ruthless and evil, but it was forgivable because they produced excellent content. (And thanks to the deleted comment that puts mine out of context.)
The "her universe" on the eye shadow sums up Disney starwars. >throw away fans >get all girl feminist fans >realize raging feminists dont actually like starwars. Especially now. >panic
Her Universe is owned by Ashley the girl who voiced Asoka. She wanted a line of clothes for girls to wear their favourite fandoms in a way that was hopefully spunky and nice to the eye. Ashley was standing up for the fandom and has been a big influence on young girls who have been bullied for loving something fictional. I dislike a SJW on the best of days. But, Her Universe was created to give young girls the confidence to wear loud and be proud. It is no way feminist shop in any way.
It’s sad. No one in their right business mind would bank on selling Star Wars merchandise again. The Last Jedi should just officially change its name to The Last Cash Grab.
Mammoth Supremacy 55 I was so young when clone wars was out I never was able to convince my mom to let me get them. Then I watched all of clone wars but Disney took over just as I finished it. So no cool clone trooper figs for me. But I guess black series exists.
Mr. M The extremist reaction is a result of Disney and Kathleen Kennedy's bullshit. I don't know what you expect fans to do if the franchise they love has been soiled and desecrated in the manner that Star Wars has. The best thing is to speak out about it, and to let the franchise die.
Mr. M I was using hyperbole to convey the damage that has happened to the Star Wars franchise (which, oddly enough, has spawned the Jedi and Sith religion along with the fans that live for Star Wars). Everything doesn't have to be literal.
April 2005. You walk into the Star Wars aisle and you see a bunch of the newly released ROTS 3.75" figures: - Collection 1 (figures with action gimmicks): Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, General Grievous, Yoda, Mace Windu, Emperor Palpatine, Darth Vader, Clone Commander, Clone Trooper, Grievous' Bodyguard, Destroyer Droid, Wookiee Warrior, AT-RT Driver... - Collection 2 (figures with more articulation): Count Dooku, Plo Koon, Luminara Unduli, Kit Fisto, Aayla Secura, Shaak Ti, Padmé Amidala, Bail Organa, Clone Pilot, Battle Droid... - Vehicles: Anakin's Jedi Starfighter, Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter, ARC-170 Fighter, Droid Tri-Fighter, Grievous' Wheelbike, BARC Speeder. SW toys peaked at that year. I remember how exciting it was looking at all those cool characters being in the same place at the same time.
That must have been awesome. Sure the movies weren't as good as the original trilogy, but all the new droids and villains were cool, their lightsabers were cool! And everything cool was made into an toy which were all cool
And all the unsold toysrus inventory is destined for scratch and dent bargain bin chains in the very near future. Star wars toys will occupy the same shelves as off brand and quality check rejected items. How the mighty have fallen.
They are at dollar tree here in Florida lots of stuff but the main figures and vehicles aren't quite yet... everything else like the mugs sticker books coloring books and other knick knacks are in abundance.
My local Walmart put all the solo crap on clearance on the movies second weekend so I guess I should not find it surprising. It's just that I remember those biglots, value city, junk stores as rarely ever having anything name brand and if it did the item was damaged, missing parts, or several years out of production. This is E.T. atari 2600 level.
You have a short memory, clearly. It was exactly the same after the prequel trilogy. The toy manufacturers vastly overestimated demand, the films sucked, and every bargain bin under the sun was overflowing with JarJar Binks and baby Anakin figures almost immediately. It was carnage. If this is your measure of 'how the mighty have fallen' then they already fell nearly 2 decades ago in 1999. The sheer amount of revisionism and denial flying around just because some people didn't enjoy The Last Jedi is laughable.

“The Millennium Falcon is sheer perfection!” “ It will be,when it’s flown by a Woman!” (Sigh!)
That Fart Of Doom meant:- I respect and appreciate women but Disney can’t see the difference between making women equal and making women in charge of everything. There needs to be a balance not just women ruling men. That’s not disneys stile though so now we have the whole SJW millennium falcon stuff.
I genuinely upsets me to see what Star Wars has become, and to know kids won’t experience that amazing world of imagination as they play with cool toys , And it’s no wonder kids don’t like the toys , they are genuinely rubbish
It’s about The metal nah it's mostly due to technology, figures are more aimed at adult collectors now and kids get gimmicky garbage for the short attention spans
I remember when The Clone Wars TV series was brand new and seeing kids playing with clone helmets and Nerf blasters and enjoying how they are living in a prime time to grow up with new Star Wars series. Years later George Lucas sold Star Wars to Disney and I couldn't blame him since he had to endure decades of criticism. Sadly Disney sucked out the spirit of Star Wars and now here we are.
It’s about The metal kids are more into video games than using their imagination. When I lived in Ireland there was a freakin civil war going on. We didn’t have internet so I used “imagination”
Do you think people will search for the concrete bunker in the desert that contains all those Rose Tico figures, like they searched for all the ET cartridges for Atari 2600?
I have accepted that Star Wars will die as a brand. My hope now is that the death becomes a public, economically painful, and belatedly obvious as possible. That way it can at least serve as a lesson and warning signal to the rest of the entertainment industry.
Maybe if they wasn't trying to get rid of the Jedi and Sith like they are trying to do the old fandom, they would probably be able to sell those blade builders.
When i first herd talk that the new movies would be downplaying the jedi and the sith i thought "that's super cool, that means they will bring out some of the badass E.U non force users like Thrawn, Dala and nearly all of rouge squadron. Hell if we are fortunatei can get some movies covering the vong invasion. I could have never predicted the characters they really brought out!
Kyber Cat that sounds nice but the Jedi and the Sith is Star Wars. All those you mention were great characters but the way SW is going, do you really want them to to touch the E.U anymore? Plus Rian "Round head" Johnson said he would be creating a whole new universe.
I think you misunderstand, I said DOWNPLAYING, not removing entirely. its impossible to do star wars without them but story's that are not centered on them and still be some of the best star wars story's. What i would really love is a story centered on some on the minor force users like a grey Jedi or a dathomir witch, but with the way disney is going i'm never going to get anything good and yes now that i have seen the movies i dont want them ruining any of the good post ep 6 characters
I JUST HAD A IDEA ABOUT A POST EP 6 MINOR FORCE USER STORY! keep in mind that this is just a rough outline. If Disney wants a female main character than a witch is perfect, they have to be female! But she would be the polar opposite of Rey. Ray is very bland, plain and unremarkable. Our nightsister would be tall, pale and with dark tasteful makeup. Unlike Rey she would have a good reason to be a combat powerhouse as they are trained in the art of war 24/7 (note that unlike Rey our main character is no mary sue as she is a crap pilot). (17 mins run time) Our story opens on a hunting trip as a group of nightsisters try to hunt down one of one of Dathomir's native Rancors. On this trip the audience is exposed to the nightsisters as dark side users and the reverence all witches have for nature. I will probley give our main character some small cute yet deadly native pet to replace the droid companions in most of star wars. Right before they capture the rancor two forces are seen fighting in the distance and a stun grenade misses and hit our heroine (lets call her Lilith) (13 mins run time) When she wakes up its relieved that the two forces where a group of space pirates (who are here for for the illegal rancor too) and the local imperial remnants orbital garrison. Lilith was captured by the pirates but her sisters are in the hands of the remnant.the space pirate offers her a pace in the crew. She reduces and challenges the captain for leadership. (dark side user) she gets her ass kicked but because of her fighting spirit shes given command over a squad of pirates who will become our other main characters (i will work out there story lines another time.) (40 min run time) Over time she raids many freighters and learns to work with her team in hijacking them. she gets first pick of the loot and keeps gathering components making what looks like a light saber. In this act a local remnant patrol ship captain keeps trying to hunt her down. His small fast is a lot more nimble than a star destroyer and makes for some good mid movie space combat. This part climaxes with the main pirate ship fighting another in a dispute over hunting ground. a large boarding action/space battle ensues. when the action is over the captain awards the captured ship to Lilith. (even though its half dead) (15 min) Two of the other space pirates finally kiss after flirting in the other act. Lilith sees this and says "perhaps there is more to life than war" a very NOT dark side thing to do. its reviled by a smuggler that the garrison on Dathomir is preparing transfer some prisoners on a new experimental ship. If she can capture it she can add to her fleet, get the crew to properly use it and rescue her sisters (60 mins) Lilith can't take the cruiser head on but her ship is so heavily damaged that she just powers down and pretends to be a piece of floating junk. This allows her to get close enough to board the outside of the ship. The team then uses a swarm of boring droids to disable the comms and vent the hangar taking a good portion of the crew out into space. The pirate team then proceeds to make its way to the bridge with the stormtroopers proving to be little more than a annoyance. Once on the bridge the remnant officer has assembled a force to stop the invasion including some mk1 dark troopers and heavy equipment. After a long fight it looks like the pirates will win but the remnant officer has the make lover in his sights and blasts his arm clean off with three laser blasts. The rage from seeing her friend is enough for Lilith to unleash her first blast of force lightning reducing him to a charred husk. It's unclear if the male lover will live. Once free her sisters offer her a place in the coven even one older member not on the hunt offering her status as a full witch, not just a trainee. She refuses as her new life is better with no matriarch to rule over her. (5 min) a few days later a new republic cruiser drops out from hyperspace it coms Lilith's new ship. On the screen is a well groomed young man “this is jacen solo jedi knight and apprentice of luke skywalker. To the commander of the imperial ship, this is your one chance to surrender” Lilith responds by saying “Im sorry but this world is no longer under imperial control. I hope you don’t intend to fight us as well because”- instead of world she simply switches on the light-weapon she's been working on most of the movie. Its a long thin light whip weapon glowing a soft red as it dances over the deckplate. EAT THAT DISNEY! You have hordes of writers, i'm just a random chick with a hour to spare!
The Star Wars lego seems to still sell decently. Not as well as in the past. Although, I think all Lego is immune to clearance because people just start buying it for the pieces at a certain point.
The problem with Star Wars Lego sets is everything is the same color gray and the sets are very little different from one another. My son got bored with them (and we have *a lot* of Lego sets). He'd rather get a Harry Potter set or even Jurassic World.
LEGO Star Wars (as with most licensed themes) are also a little bit pricer than standard LEGO sets, and have more repeated models. They still have enough cool features for people to buy them, but kids usually get drawn to the brighter themes like Ninjago and CMF.
@Gankageddon well there is a 700 dollar lego star destroyer with 4700 pieces that just came out and well it looks really good and it is really big and heavy as I have seen from reviews on UA-cam if I had the money I would definitely buy it and it is definitely selling
Rick Berman was the head of Star Trek in 90's and early 2000's. He famous fired a composer for being to good and told his actors playing human parts to be subdued compared to the aliens and presumed to write episodes for ENT even though he wasn't a writer. He is understood by many to be somewhat artistically bankrupt
It's heartless for you to ignore the beautiful legendary Daisy Ridley staring intensify gaping big hyperventilating efficient mouth expression. There is only one person can do this, Jaarhn Booooiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeega.
You bring up a really interesting point. I was honestly shocked to see the sheer amount of rideable land speeders they had back in the warehouse. Like, WHY?!?!?! Did anyone seriously thought they would sell that many units of those things? You are suggesting that manufacturers where kinda pushing retailers to stock x number of units for y number of products in order to be able to "stock" the brand, right? Kinda makes sense, looking at some of the particular items that seem totally ignored by consumers, like these aforementioned rideables, along with the General Sucks and Rose Dick-O figures, which seem omnipresent all over the store. No purchase agent would order for stocking so many items of a product that has a bad sales tracking.
Disney: hey fans, remember the expanded universe? You know the one you love from Dark Horse and individual authors? Yeah that’s nice and all but we’re killing off! Don’t worry! what we got planned is even better! *Here’s Rose Tico.*
Okay, so, out of sheer curiosity - allthough i'm afraid i allready know the answer - just for a moment, let's pretend that Disney takes over Star Wars and keeps the Legends canon intact. What then ? how should they have gone forward ? Make movies about stories, comics and games we allready know ?
@Offworlder1 only that a) they don't retell exactly the same stories and more importantly b) the MCU does not take place in the main marvel earth 616 continuity (i think they designated it Earth-1999 or some more 9s, but don't quote me on that). Now, that works for comics, because multiverses aren't exactly a new thing in comics, especially DC and Marvel. Doesn't work for Star Wars. So Disney had two options after buying the property (just as every other big corporation would have had, this is not disney-specific): Option 1) Rehash the old stories (just to then, most likely, get shit on by shithead "fans" for not telling the stories right or leaving out details or casting the wrong people or Option 2) scrap it and tell something new. So far, so apples and oranges. Now, completely disregarding whether you like the new stuff or don't, scraping the old EU was the right thing from a creator's point of view. More freedom, less constrictions and limitations.
@Offworlder1 yes, i have allready considered that in my previous comment."adapt" aka nothing new plus the burden of thousand fanbois (or, of you please, another word starting with f and ending with bois) not getting the adaptations the way they want them or not the stories they want adapted. There's just no winning with you guys, it's loose-loose. And fyi, that's one of the reasons Lucas stopped making SW and sold it to Disney in the first place. Because so called 'fans' were impossible to satisfy.
walkingdeadman19, I honestly half agree, half disagree with you. Getting rid of some of the EU (I.e, the dumb Operation Shadow Hand business and everything after 42 ABY, we’ll say) seems like a good idea. Promoted more freedom and all that type of stuff. But taking away stuff such as the Old Republic, Mara Jade, etc? It seems...wrong in a certain regard. You say that everything’s already been told in comics, but then I point to you stuff like the Great Hyperspace War and the Mandalorian Wars, which were only briefly mentioned in the KOTOR. At least to my knowledge. Also, don’t generalize fans like that. Come on, man.
I've been reading financial articles on why Toys R Us went bankrupt, but this video explains it way better. All this crap about high levels of debt preventing investments, delays with vendors, online competitors with same-day and two-day deliveries, bad timing for declaring bankruptcy. NO! THIS IS THE REAL REASON. The purchasing manager at Toys R Us should have been fired a long time ago.
The irony in the fact that Star Wars, the franchise that literally started modern merchandising trends (Where even promissory notes for out-of-stock figures after the stores couldn't keep up with the stock of A New Hope merch can be sold to collectors for THOUSANDS of dollars), not being able to sell any merchandise, is almost sickening to me. You couldn't find a Luke Skywalker figure or a Lightsaber after A New Hope came out they were so popular, the stores were giving promissory notes to customers entitling them to first pick of the next shipment. Nowadays? You'd have to force yourself to waste money on the worthless merch sitting unsold on shelves related to the Disney Star Wars movies. Only the worst writing, plot, and characters could have turned the origin of modern movie merchandising into an utter failure as far as selling merchandise goes.
This reminds of that movie Jingle All the Way, where all kids wanted that one cool superhero character from the TV show as a toy while all the sidekick characters didn't sell for shit.
I suspect it something Disney has already thought about as they are the king of the straight to video market, so keep watching at your local store as it's coming soon!
Vicos im actually a huge fan of Elevator music:) these videos are really relaxing. Elevator music is designed to b calming and soothing while ur crammbed in a small death trap with other complete strangers. Hence it's purpose.
It’s really sad for me. I had so many great memories of SW as a kid and was always on the hunt for the POTF2 figures in the 90’s as well as prequel figures. Now to see it become a joke and a failure is tragic. Hold on the positive memories of Star Wars and enjoy the real saga, 1-6.
I know. My dad took me to see RoTJ when I was three and it was all over from there. Loved my SW toys books and games. I didn't have any major gripes with the prequels. It was a "warts and all" thing for me. TLJ just killed a 35 year obsession.
You're right. No more generations of SW kids like us. The morality play is 1-6 that raised us to look towards the sunset and dream of traveling the stars, saving the Princess, and retiring on Yavin IV. Toys-R-Us is bankrupt and gone along with any interest in the franchise. Idiots bought it and made it idiocy. I am at least glad that Mr. Lucas made a killing off of the sale. I know he gave most if not all to charity, but he got paid for changing the universe forever. The greatest movie that was ever made, or that ever will be made. Thank you, George. May The Force Be With You, Always.
Ikr, I can remember everyone scrambling for SW toys, going from store to store only to see empty shelves where everything had sold out. Well, at least we'll always have the original Star Wars. I choose to believe TLJ is just a horrible nightmare Luke had.
I mean, The Force Awakens was a decent movie. It's just a shame that the last two movies and the response on social media has made us look upon the once hated prequel trilogy more fondly, and look upon the once criticized Lucas more fondly.
I grew up when the prequels were being released and I love them, still do. Shamelessly owning the toys, especially stuff from around the clone wars movie and series. With that kinda stuff being so huge in my childhood it's tragic to see that this is the state of things now.
Elliot Bishop I grew up with prequels but couldn’t watch them as my town was under control of communist forces. And the move theater was under control of British soldiers this was during the Troubles in Northern Ireland
I grew up when the original toys from Episodes 4-6 were released and were so darn awesome! Now that's when Star Wars was like gold. There were certain characters that you couldn't find. I wondered if they actually existed. The good ole days.....
the title was a bit misleading as i was actually expecting to see a landfill but i loved the part where you snuck into the back to show the wall of stupid ass landspeeders. also i live in turkey and your morning streams are perfect for me! please keep doing them!
What's really sad is despite how the prequels were received their toys still sold. And they were pretty darn cool. As kid I got the Droids *(ROGER>ROJOR)*, Darth Maul, Darth Vader (again), Obi wan (Best damn thing to come out of the Prequels!) and more. Probably the best toys for a boy came out during the Prequels. I'm so god damn sad for the kids now... I am now 33 years old and as a kid I grew-up in a world of magic. Started with the ATARI and it Ended with the first Xbox (with Halo) What a journey that was. And the Toys that were inspired by Greatness in between then and there... just as good. I have a Niece and each time I see her I can't help but feel an overwhelming sadness. The Magic is gone. The best I can do is try to replicate it for her when she comes of age... but its not the same.
I would beg my parents to buy me b1s, b2s and all kinds of stuff for phantom menace. My brother would buy the gungans and jedi, we would have make believe star wars battles. Its sad its not going to be the same for future generations.
So who thinks Lucasfilm are going down the route that the jedi read the prophecy wrong,Anakin was not the one to bring balance, but the virgin force birth was Rey,and she was the one to bring balance, making the first 6 films redudent, and the whole Skywalker storyline nil & void.
Mark Wells I swear to God if they bring Anakin into Soy Wars... I'll cut them into pieces Vader R1 style. It's not enough that they killed Luke and his character, we must destroy every male Skywalker!!!! !
This is exactly what I thought after seeing TFA. Disney is cheaply scrapping the true SW movies in favor or making Rey the new super feminist heroine. Anakin is the chosen one & nobody else.
And that's where the anger comes from, lucasfilm &Ruan Johnson taking a huge dump on previous set lore they were alienating the fans, that's what we are fans of,then they going out of there way to attack us brought things to a new level, they want to burn it all down and go another way then good luck to them,I hope for there sake they have a fan base strong enough,I like many others are being turned off,we will hold on to George's film's in our hearts but also our cash in our pockets.
I stopped at the local Toys R Us last week. They have SW merchandise marked down 60%, and the aisle was filled to capacity. No one is buying the products.
When I was a kid it didn't matter how terrible the prequels where, as long as they had toys of cool robots and aliens like the battle droids, Darth Maul, the Geonosians and so on. What do kids have these days from the sequel trilogy? Porgs? Silver Stormtrooper lady? Sour cream milk dispenser alien?
The Prequels are not and never have been terrible. They're not perfect but the haters hugely exaggerated their flaws and that's part of the reason why we're getting far worse Star Wars products from Disney. If the haters hadn't spent over a decade bullying George Lucas, Star Wars might not be in such a bad place.
I think the prequels are pretty "alright" but the negative aspect comes from comparing them towards the original star wars movies rather than just movies in general. The bar of expectation was set for the prequels which hurt them a lot.
And yet; Disney still doesn't want our money. Seeing as they keep insulting us. In the Netherlands we've had 'Sinterklaas'(last december, 5th), Christmass, and in my case the birthday of both my daughters. 4 days wherein a lot of gifts were bought by me and my wife, and family. NONE were Disney. (all 4 days in total were good for hundreds and hundreds of euro's) We will not buy anything from this manufacturer anymore.
I'm so ambivalent to Hasbro's situation at this point I feel nothing for them, they just need to gather up all those unsold Star Wars toys and melt them down into something more useful like spatulas or vinyl hot pants for night club chicks.
My aunt bought a female SW figurine for her 4-year old grandson who loves SW, thinking he'd just put it in his collection - he outright refused to accept it, saying "it's a girl doll!" He will play with male figures, space ship toys and robots. No amount of coaxing would make him accept that toy, so much so that she's now just kept it for herself in the hope it might gain some value as a collectable. It's clear that Disney-LucasFilm's social programming is not working on "younglings"
The Sledge that’s how kids work. They don’t give a fuck about politics or feminist „equal rights“, they just want a cool looking figure or a pretty doll
Brainbot Jezebel exactly why the starwars toys aren't selling the kids don't find them cool because they aren't made to be cool , they want to push an agenda
That is so crazy. The two things that I used to love as a child going to Toys “R” Us and playing with my Star Wars action figures. This weird society were growing up in. It’s devoid of creativity and fun.
Holy crap this is depressing. Back when I was a kid it was hard for me to get toys for RotS because they sold so well, I only ever managed to get Darth Vader, Obi-Wan, Grievous, R2, Sidious, Tion Medon, and some Clone Troopers, but I could never get so many of the others. Now who do they have? Rose, Rey, Kylo Ren, Finn, Poe, and Luke In Name Only. And all those landspeeders... dear god you could probably make a building out of those as well as the unsold and unwanted blade builders. So sad. Disney can't keep ignoring this, Star Wars is bleeding from the throat right now due to incompetent leadership and bad stories and if they don't do something, they're gonna get royally fucked in the end.
Remember the time when you were proud of your collection of star wars figures? These days i am proud of never having owned a rose figure :D They have to kill her in the first minute of episode nine to get a minimum of credit for the movie...
I'm old and I actually remember being 6 years old and seeing Star Wars - the original mind you, in the theaters. It literally was in the theater for almost A YEAR. At the time it was just that popular and nobody on the merchandising end was ready for it. I actually remember it being difficult to find action figures and things and these were in *demand*. You had the standard line up of plastic characters, an X-wing, Tie fighter, Death star and Millenium falcon playsets and a blaster that D batteries. I think they had a land speeder later. All the extra crap like nerf guns and other nonsense didn't come out until Return of the Jedi. Can you imagine actual bare shelves where Star Wars stuff should be? I remember making my mother buy Wonder Bread (which I hated but ate anyway) because they put a loose Star Wars trading card in the bread bag. You could see it through the white lattice design on the plastic bread bag. That was my first Star Wars merch... Now? Can we please kill this already? If we sacrifice Return of the Jedi can all the other movies and merchandise save for the original and Empire strikes back please go away?
I'm old too. About the same age as you. My parents had to order the original line up of SW figures. By mail. I think they finally arrived 4 or 5 weeks later. I remember day after day running off of the school bus and up our long drive way just to see my Mom shaking her head signaling yet another day without Star Wars figures. Imagine that. When they did arrive my heart almost stopped. I think I went to bed clutching the vinyl case they came in. Fast forward 30 plus years and my kids could take it or leave it. Side note. I remember the Wonder Bread cards. Do you remember the painted glasses that Burger King sold with their "meals". Ahh memories.
I was a little too young for the first and even second movie, (even though I do recall plenty of toys from that time) but oh MAN when Episode III came along? the star wars hype felt like it lasted all the way to 2007!
I remember when action figures first came out for Star Wars, you could not keep them on the shelves and those that were on the shelves were the ones that everyone already had the jawas, the guards, the ewoks you know what I'm talking about you couldn't keep these things on the Shelf now with the sjw you can't keep them OFF the Shelf. That should send a message unfortunately but good or messages if no one can read or hear?
HUGH JAZZ I get what you're saying but kids don't understand or care about any of that sjw shit. I think kids just aren't as interested in traditional toys anymore. It's all about video games and phones now.
I remember our Mom ordered the collectible diorama stand, the early bird certificate package I think it is called now, and characters from sears' catalog. We received the backdrop and just a couple of the first run of figures and a letter from Kenner apologizing. They couldnt keep up with demand and we would receive the rest as soon as they could get them out. Star Wars in no longer new or shiny, and disney doesnt seem interested in maintaining it at all. They just want to use it to pick up chicks as they drive it into the ground. I hope a day comes where they put someone in charge that wants to fix it up and restore its luster.
That last part: "There's never gonna be another generation of Star Wars kids." That honestly broke my heart, like wow, I'm a gen Z and I liked Star Wars before Disney bought it, and was so sad that there wasen't gonna be another good Star Wars...
Holy shit that Green Power Ranger looked old. I had those when I was a kid in the early-mid 90's. Oh, also I was one of those completionist kids who even went so far as to get toys of the Yellow and Pink Rangers. Also there was a Batman underneath all those Rose Tico toys. You should have helped Bats out and put his toy at the top so he wasn't being hidden under an inferior character.
Adan Lopez yep, mine too. I counted roughly 40 of the land speeders, now priced at $100, opposed to the standard $599. Still not selling. The boxes are tagged in a serial fashion denoting it's number in the production run. There's probably a way to use that with the remaining stock to figure out the total actual sales.
30 years from now, they'll do a documentary where they're digging through a landfill and finding all this worthless, unwanted junk. Just like in that E.T. video game documentary.
Everything's Rey, Jyn, and Rose. What happened to Darth Maul, General Grievous, and all the actual cool characters that people wanted because they were actually awesome. Everything's much less interesting than it was last decade.
Anti Deon yeah, good point! Where are the cool alien and cyborg characters? Things that actually looked cool, not just normal looking people in slightly odd clothing!?
I'm actually not a huge star wars fan. I haven't watched any of the movies with the exception of the original six and Episode 7. As for the death threats and racist remarks, I really don't care what happens to anyone in Hollywood.
I used to work for a store with a home decor section and one thing I will always remember is that Disney sales reps HATED any Disney wallpaper/wall accents being put on clearance. Disney has always had a rule that none of their merch should *ever* be discounted at any stores, so this must really stick in their craw.
The Expanded Universe died for this.
Never Trust An Elf and that fact alone is fucking depressing.
I know and it pains me daily.
Terrible...
A little piece of f me is dead now because of Disney murdering the EU.
The EU had it's faults but Palpatine starting the Empire because he knew some crazy shit was coming is my favorite bit of SW lore.

I remember reading that trash in a Scholastic magazine in 5th grade
@@Dragonrider1227

It's not that female action figures aren't marketable it's the fact that with any action figure people need to like thr character first, male or female doesn't matter. Fact is the female starwars characters are boring and annoying. Modern female characters are just all about pushing an agenda while the older ones are pushing a story.

If your job depends on Disney knowing what it's doing......

Mr. M How do you do, le radical centrist?
It needs a new, stronger word, like sathetic, or pad.
How is it extremist for a fan base to respond negatively when stereotyped and betrayed?

I genuinely upsets me to see what Star Wars has become, and to know kids won’t experience that amazing world of imagination as they play with cool toys ,
And it’s no wonder kids don’t like the toys , they are genuinely rubbish

Kyber Cat I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. I totally agree about the minor force users as well.
Unlike Rey she would have a good reason to be a combat powerhouse as they are trained in the art of war 24/7
(note that unlike Rey our main character is no mary sue as she is a crap pilot).
Right before they capture the rancor two forces are seen fighting in the distance and a stun grenade misses and hit our heroine (lets call her Lilith)
(13 mins run time) When she wakes up its relieved that the two forces where a group of space pirates (who are here for for the illegal rancor too) and the local imperial remnants orbital garrison. Lilith was captured by the pirates but her sisters are in the hands of the remnant.the space pirate offers her a pace in the crew. She reduces and challenges the captain for leadership. (dark side user) she gets her ass kicked but because of her fighting spirit shes given command over a squad of pirates who will become our other main characters (i will work out there story lines another time.)
(40 min run time) Over time she raids many freighters and learns to work with her team in hijacking them. she gets first pick of the loot and keeps gathering components making what looks like a light saber. (even though its half dead)
(15 min) Two of the other space pirates finally kiss after flirting in the other act. Lilith sees this and says "perhaps there is more to life than war" a very NOT dark side thing to do. its reviled by a smuggler that the garrison on Dathomir is preparing transfer some prisoners on a new experimental ship. If she can capture it she can add to her fleet, get the crew to properly use it and rescue her sisters
(60 mins) Lilith can't take the cruiser head on but her ship is so heavily damaged that she just powers down and pretends to be a piece of floating junk.
To the commander of the imperial ship, this is your one chance to surrender”
Lilith responds by saying “Im sorry but this world is no longer under imperial control. I hope you don’t intend to fight us as well because”- instead of world she simply switches on the light-weapon she's been working on most of the movie. Its a long thin light whip weapon glowing a soft red as it dances over the deckplate.

The Star Wars lego seems to still sell decently. Not as well as in the past. Although, I think all Lego is immune to clearance because people just start buying it for the pieces at a certain point.
“The boxes say ages 6-14. It’s just a suggestion. They have to put that there”
The problem with Star Wars Lego sets is everything is the same color gray and the sets are very little different from one another.
Bogdanoff's Servant It'd sell better if they made better battlepacks.

ModernPrometheus nail on the head
Pretty sure a bad deal with Disney had a lot to do with it as well. That's 20+ landspeeders in the back room.
I saw about 25 pallets of Star Wars crap, sitting for weeks in the rain, behind my local Walmart!
Take photos! Take photos!
I call BS.
I believe it... I mean, who would even bother stealing them...clearly noone wants them.
Aaron Greenfield - Pics or it didn't happen!
Why didn’t you took it??
This reminds of that movie Jingle All the Way, where all kids wanted that one cool superhero character from the TV show as a toy while all the sidekick characters didn't sell for shit.
I predict in the not so distant future when Star Wars movie will go straight to DVD. Great video!
I suspect it something Disney has already thought about as they are the king of the straight to video market, so keep watching at your local store as it's coming soon!
Grumpy Old Man That would be sad yet hilarious at the same time. 😂😂😂
Straight to VHS! (Oh wait! They don't make those anymore...)
It's sad, but it shows what happens when you let the message trump the story.
Future Star Wars movies will be the death of the DVD, it'll be straight to Disney-Flix.
You want to know where the SJW Star Wars toy landfill is? Just check out Uncle Ethan's trash. 😂
thats enough ticos to make a new clone army lol
That could be the plot for episode 9 :p
Two thumbs up for the great elevator muzak.
Vicos im actually a huge fan of Elevator music:) these videos are really relaxing. Elevator music is designed to b calming and soothing while ur crammbed in a small death trap with other complete strangers. Hence it's purpose.
I am a fan of Muzak as a health professional ,it saves a lot of money on drugs!Wish he had checked out the Marvel toys to see if they were selling!
Vicos *toe-thumbs
Time to say goodbye, isn't it?? >sigh
It is literally garbage. They've made milliins of these toys and no one bought them. The toys have no value at all
EVS "TELL ME WHERE THE TICO'S ARE AT!!! TELL MEEEEEE"!!!
Dav Free The Van Sciver Home for Discarded Ticos.
Buy ten Tico's plus a bb8 and tada! You have an official Star Wars bowling set.
I grew up when the prequels were being released and I love them, still do. Shamelessly owning the toys, especially stuff from around the clone wars movie and series. With that kinda stuff being so huge in my childhood it's tragic to see that this is the state of things now.
Elliot Bishop same. I love the droids and lots of the characters fron the prequels and loved collecting CIS droids and tanks
Same here. The clone wars and droids were pretty cool.
Clone troopers were and looked badass too!
The good ole days.....
when ppl would rather buy the used trash can, than buy SW, you know your franchise is dead.
assassinwarrior: But you’ll need the Rose Rico’s to throw in the trash can.
50 bucks is a good deal for that kind of can. It's also a great display case for all your Rose Tico action figures.
dee bedwell If you throw the Rose Tico's in the trash, then you're devaluing the trash can.
dee bedwell
Why throw them into the trash when you can throw them into a furnace?
the very sight of Rey makes me puke. You should have bought that C3PO bought the only thing worth anything there.
When are they going to realize that ever since those SP 38's came out, those landspeeders just aren't in demand?
the title was a bit misleading as i was actually expecting to see a landfill but i loved the part where you snuck into the back to show the wall of stupid ass landspeeders.
also i live in turkey and your morning streams are perfect for me! please keep doing them!
I think at this point we all kinda expected a football field sized landfill somewhere.
Buy one, get one free? And no-one is buying? Once they become outright free, JUST TAKE THEM, and nobody does...
You'll see that landfill.
The Comussar Show Please do another Turkish Star Wars! It'd be better than modern Disney!
Turns out people don't want to buy toys for propaganda films. Who would've thought?
K22 N34_Dingowarrior The new JW toyline by Mattel is one of the best in years.
I had almost all of the prequel toys, my first star wars film was revenge of the sith.
almost assuredly
You are probably right, but in reality the cant cause lukas said its about Anakin. And they can do whatever the want, i will follow lukas vision.
"They charge by the screen time, so Admiral Holdo should be free."
Then, what about Admiral Ackbar?
He should've had more screen time, change my mind.
He died like a background character. That was the greatest injustice done to him.
What about captain phasma
I stopped at the local Toys R Us last week. They have SW merchandise marked down 60%, and the aisle was filled to capacity. No one is buying the products.
Is it me or is that just the saddest thing, when you look back at how cool it once was. I wouldn't touch the stuff myself even at penny pricing.
Same in my town. Even the TMNT & WWE toys (typically not big sellers atleast in our area) are nearly sold out, but SW is still at full capacity.
youtubasoarus It’s very sad.
Disney sold one land speeder to Ethan. Probably the only that will ever be sold.
I never imagined that Star Wars would ever lose it's popularity. Sad times indeed.
Tickleson kylo's insane lightsaber, I guess.
Tickleson The OT is overrated as hell and the expectations for the PT were ridiculously high and unrealistic.
RotS is awesome you fools
And yet; Disney still doesn't want our money. Seeing as they keep insulting us.
In the Netherlands we've had 'Sinterklaas'(last december, 5th), Christmass, and in my case the birthday of both my daughters.
4 days wherein a lot of gifts were bought by me and my wife, and family. NONE were Disney. (all 4 days in total were good for hundreds and hundreds of euro's) We will not buy anything from this manufacturer anymore.
You know that Disney isn't manufacturing any toys themselves, right ?
I see rose tico in my nightmares
I'm so ambivalent to Hasbro's situation at this point I feel nothing for them, they just need to gather up all those unsold Star Wars toys and melt them down into something more useful like spatulas or vinyl hot pants for night club chicks.
My aunt bought a female SW figurine for her 4-year old grandson who loves SW, thinking he'd just put it in his collection - he outright refused to accept it, saying "it's a girl doll!"
He will play with male figures, space ship toys and robots.
In Jan of 2019 they still have rows of Rose and Jin Erso figures. Selling for 3 bucks Canadian and they still can't rid of them.
This is Atari's E.T. all over again.
Yeah, i thought the same
Times a million. It's insanity.
At least it was acknowledged that E.T was a failure
We should have a commercial where a wookie looks over the piles upon piles of Tico figures and a tear slowly falls from his eye.
At least my dad can say his SW collection has never been tainted by Disney SW
That is so crazy. The two things that I used to love as a child going to Toys “R” Us and playing with my Star Wars action figures. This weird society were growing up in. It’s devoid of creativity and fun.
7:53 Jeff comes across a green Power Ranger and it's the one and only time in this video that his interest peaks haha
Drew Hughes I bought that
Nice!
I would too honestly
his thoughs must of been this dose not deserve to be near trash
Welcome to Tico Town, a.k.a the clearence aisle
Who's gonna boycot Ep.9? Thumbs up!
YUP
Meanwhile I've been enjoying EU material CANON!
We all must take a stand and draw a line in the sand...no more!
I don't even care enough about it to thumbs up your comment!
A real fan wouldn't
A real fan does not have to be braindead and swallow every piece of trash disney serves. You can't dislike a movie when you're braindead.
Remember the time when you were proud of your collection of star wars figures?
These days i am proud of never having owned a rose figure :D
They have to kill her in the first minute of episode nine to get a minimum of credit for the movie...
You’d better be careful about going places you’re not supposed to. They might ban you from Toys ‘R’ Us for life! 😉
A new Star Wars will rise from the ashes of the mouse empire.
Sacrifice Return of the Jedi? No thanks, I like that movie.
They "weren't ready for it" because that movie is what INVENTED film tie-in merchandising.
Who the hell ever decided to produce so much rose tico crap and expect it to sell?
I hope you were joking about getting soy milk
Popo idk soyboy
Popo, I hope that comment was sarcasm.
Nothing wrong with soy milk every now & then. 😂
Popo
It's a meme.
IT DECREASES TESTOSTERONE IMBICILES
I remember when action figures first came out for Star Wars, you could not keep them on the shelves and those that were on the shelves were the ones that everyone already had the jawas, the guards, the ewoks you know what I'm talking about you couldn't keep these things on the Shelf now with the sjw you can't keep them OFF the Shelf. That should send a message unfortunately but good or messages if no one can read or hear?
HUGH JAZZ I get what you're saying but kids don't understand or care about any of that sjw shit. I think kids just aren't as interested in traditional toys anymore. It's all about video games and phones now.
in 1981 I had a star wars Christmas, EVERYTHING I had was star wars. Pity nobody cares anymore, :(
I remember our Mom ordered the collectible diorama stand, the early bird certificate package I think it is called now, and characters from sears' catalog.
Pudding Pop that's just excuses comparable to "the Star Wars fatigue" if the movies were good then obviously the shelves would still be cleared
That last part: "There's never gonna be another generation of Star Wars kids." That honestly broke my heart, like wow, I'm a gen Z and I liked Star Wars before Disney bought it, and was so sad that there wasen't gonna be another good Star Wars...
Begun the Tico war has.
Exactly it's deserving of land fill
Holy shit that Green Power Ranger looked old. I had those when I was a kid in the early-mid 90's. Oh, also I was one of those completionist kids who even went so far as to get toys of the Yellow and Pink Rangers.
Also there was a Batman underneath all those Rose Tico toys. You should have helped Bats out and put his toy at the top so he wasn't being hidden under an inferior character.
Lord Proteus well as we know, it's racist not to.
I had that Green Power Ranger too... and I feel old again.
The Green Ranger toy was part of the Power Rangers Legacy toy line. Which came out fairly recently.
Kurt2012007 I had the Black Ranger as he was my favorite
I had the Power Rangers SPD action figures and the phone thing they used to turn into the rangers. R.I.P Toys R Us.
I counted 36 rose toys I’m pretty sure I’m wrong because there so many of them and so unloved that nobody buys them
I hate rose character
When there's no more toys in hell, the dead will play with Nerf.
Does that mean Han Solo is in hell rather than The Force Heaven? After all, he is a 'nerf herder'...
I'd rather buy a Nerf gun than anything SW related.
557deadpool But the reason those nerf guns are being mentioned is specifically because they're Star Wars related.
My toys r us still has a large stock of star wars toys, despite them being 70% off. lol
Those Luke’s landspeeder are pretty cool for little kids, just need to scrape off the Disney label.
Luficer Morningstar, Yup. and many more characters from the new movies
I've seen SW toys in dollar stores beginning a few years ago and they always seem to be there. It's the weirdest thing.
"Not because I had permission, but because I snuck in when no one was looking."
We will crush the Resistance!
Christ I needed a drink after that video.
Fulgrim2 this video made me happy i live in a state where pot is legal
Fulgrim2 I was 12 shots down befor I even clicked.
Is toilet water ok?
A drink of green milk?
Fulgrim2 I have the “RICO Teal.” and the “Wine of death”
So glad I grew up in the 70s-80s. When Star Wars actually was STAR WARS.
TBH, Jyn was a good character for her part.
True, Maul gets no love these days
Maybe actors/actresses will think twice now about signing onto a star wars film.
