This album and these songs on this album! 😢 This was recorded between March, 1989 and November, 1990. It was released February, 1991 and we lost Freddie November, 1991. Queen and Freddie with the lyrics are hitting on some hard topics that was exactly what Freddie was facing. Even songs that were not written about what he was facing turned into exactly what he was facing. And it is beautiful and tough and meaningful. Freddie was very ill and yet some of his best ever singing comes from the songs on this album. In my opinion. Which is saying a whole lot cause he has beautiful vocals throughout his career. And the band stuck with him, Freddie wanted to work for as long as possible and they all made that happen. I admire that about them, because that is not easy to do. They are all four so special….musicians, people, supportive friends, band mates, rock stars. The Freakin AIDS Crisis…..it was such a tough time, years and years of losing people you knew, losing people famous that you loved. RIP Freddie Mercury….you are loved. And Queen’s music is still relevant as it travels down the generations. As I suspect you knew it would be.

This song is too elaborate to be done live plus Freddie was not well already when this was recorded. This video won the award for the most creative and original video the year it came out. I love this song, the changes and the creativity of the songwriting. I consider this as part of the trilogy of songs that define Freddie's career as a songwriter and one seems to lead to the next as you hear seeds of what is to come in each of them. In order they are March Of The Black Queen, Bohemian Rhapsody and Innuendo. Steve Howe (Yes Band) joins Brian to play the Spanish guitar section of this song. He thought Queen was nuts to let him play on the title track of this album and when he heard what he would need to be playing he wasn't sure he could pull it of but as you will hear, he smashes it without a hitch. This song was written by Freddie and Roger. Thank you for your reaction.
Who Wants to Live Forever, live in Budapest is a magnificent song. It will draw you deeper into the Queen Rabbit Hole.

Yes! Very powerful song indeed. Though Freddie's health was failing very rapidly, his voice remained so powerful. You really need to check out Who wants to Live Forever live at Budapest in 1986. It is such a moving and powerful performance.

I love that you appreciate both the song and the video, both are so meaningful and thought-provoking. Queen never shied away from tackling deep and meaningful social issues in their songs. The lyrics are as powerful as Freddie's voice, which never faltered until the last few weeks of his precious life. He insisted that Roger, Brian and John should keep him working for as long as possible, giving him anything they wrote for him to sing, which they could continue working with after he'd gone. I totally LOVED your reaction to this masterpiece... yes, this award-winning video is absolutely superb in artistry and technicality, so amazing. The similar three-part adventure like BoRhap was not overlooked by many a critic, but in this journey they solicited the help of Steve Howe of YES fame to play the Spanish flamenco section with the iconic claymation animation, just phenomenal... another amazing video you may enjoy is "The Miracle", have you seen it?? Or maybe "The Invisible Man", both featuring children... so entertaining... Thanks again for this video... blessings.

Queen’s homage to Led Zeppelin’s KASHMIR. According to an interview with Brian May in Oct. 1994’s Guitar Magazine, the song was pieced together “like a jig-saw puzzle”. The recurring theme started off as a jam session with Brian, John, & Roger. Freddie then added the melody & some of the lyric, which were then completed by Roger! 🏆
Freddie was really sick when he wrote/sang this! But his voice was always strong🤍

This was the first Queen song to debut at #1. Feels like a return to their prog rock roots. Steve Howe from 'Yes' plays the flamenco guitar in the middle. From BoRhap in '75 to Innuendo in '91, they not only wrote and performed brilliantly, they also knew how to present it all visually. Truely a multi media band. 👑

Perfect way to start the day with the greatest singer, showman ever! Really makes my morning. And on a sad note my news feed is saying the p.c. police are now trying to cancel Freddie! And to honor them since all queen fans here know how much Freddie cared what anyone thought of him after I watch this perfection again I will head over and watch fat bottom girls a couple times😂😂😂. Can't cancel Freddie, ever! He'd love it. Anyway, ranting again, I so love this one too, thank you good sir, you are rocking this UA-cam thing!

I never heard this one. After reading the comments below I learned a lot and it's so sad that he did this when ill. I get a Led Zeppelin vibe from it. The song is really powerful, video super cool!
Great reaction. This is a very deep song. A song about questions. Why do we live the way we do. Why do we keep making the same mistakes. What is life all about. What is our place in this World. The last verse is what gets to me the most....... It almost comes across as a challenge to God. What are the answers to "the questions we feel bound to ask?". And why do you (God) not reveal yourself to us in a more direct way?... "Show your face .Remove your Mask".... Why all the mystery?....... About 12 years ago , this song came to my mind in a very personal way...... I was just diagnosed with Lymphoma...... I was in the Hospital and it was the night I was told....... I was by myself....in the dark, and my mind was racing...... I remembered this song immediately.... I faced my own mortality that night, all alone, by myself......... I was asking the same questions. I always was a man of Faith...... But damn.... why make it all so hard...... ha ha. Anyway I was treated and survived. But...... I still haven't found the answers to the questions I feel bound to ask............
