  • Keanu Reeves has had ups and downs throughout his career. But at his best, films like 'Bill & Ted,' 'The Matrix' and 'John Wick' far outweigh some of the misfires he's had along the way.

His respect for every filmmaker/crew he has worked with is truly amazing. I remember in one interview Kimmel asked him “which was your least favorite movie to film” and Reeves politely replied “Jimmy I can’t answer that” after stating that he enjoyed working on all the movies he’s been in. I feel like it is near impossible to hate this guy.

that is where you're wrong, he is NOT a human, he is a reptilian shapeshifter. If you have the original movie of the matrix, you can see if for yourself.

Pretty good movie, plenty of action. It's definitely worth a watch. I hope the online copy doesn't spread like wild fire across the internet because a movie this good bombing at the box office due to bootlegs would kill the potential of a sequel.

dude you're so off with the demographics watching your video lulz. im a big Keanu fan and to me his best work aside from My Own Private Idaho is The Devil's Advocate. And there was another film he made with Charlize called Sweet November. And the best non-action rewatchable movie of his is called A Walk in the Clouds.
dude you're making videos for the internet and talking about Keanu Reeves. you gotta do better research ;)

For the most part, I disagree with your characterization of Reeves' choice of film roles. Save for the Dracula film (I think we can all agree on that one), I think he's done pretty well in that area. Have you actually watched Feeling Minnesota? Pretty good, actually.
I've always thought where people perceive a lack of emotion or "acting chops" I've always perceived in those characters an understated stoicism that serves the character well. Again, that lends itself to Reeves' wise choice of film roles.

I think quality Keanu's acting is so varied due to him completely obeying the directors, that's why almost every director he worked with praise him immensely. Many directors are just not good at...well, directing actors. I really don't think he's a bad actor at all. I've seen people saying things like "he's only good in a stoic role", which I think isn't true either. Like, for example, a movie called Gift. Completely a unique role for him. He plays an abusive a-hole with anger issues, and he does a tremendous job, like most of his scenes gave me chills. That's because Sam Raimi is known for instructing actors to a great effect.
There are many other movies where he is fantastic - Scanner Darkly, Parenthood, Permanent Record, and My Own Private Idaho. Most great actors tend to do their own thing in the movies. They read a script, directors provide some instructions, but they mostly deliver great performances because they stick to their own guns. Reese is one of the actors who listens and completely obeys directors, that's why at times that direction can ruin his performance.

In the latest movie he develops the magical power to knife kill people with blood spraying in the air in a crowded public place with people (who don't react at all) walking a few feet away from it. He even gives this power to his enemies. His magic also extends to the bodies left in said public place.
They are so appreciative they let him get up to defeat them after having knives to his throat .... twice in one fight!
He is so magical that he can sincerely accept a contract to kill one of his only true friends who, knowing he would face dire consequences helped him survive.
He can pledge loyalty to the organization he got out of due to the influence of his love for his wife (all while he convinces everybody it's to allow him more time to remember said wife).
Can you believe despite that he even got most critics and the majority of the audience to still think of him as the same noble honorable character.
He also (after being shot point blank a few times with armor piercing rounds) literally falls over 5 stories to a hard ground but now gets "pissed".
He is so generous he mind magics a famously strict and ruthless high table adjucator to just reverse a major decision (sent to the whole assassin world) to let a manager keep his spot after said manager directs the killing of 2 busloads of their most valuable soldiers. Like a Jedi master he waves his hand... "you will call his actions a show of strength and undermine your power immensely".
Doctor Strange should have given him the time stone and learned magic from him. Doc Strange, Yoda and Franklin Richards all could learn something from him. They never were able to use their powers on the audience directly.

Keanu has had stumbles along the way, but he has tended to take some odd chances over the decades. Mine Own Private Idaho was a big risk for him; so was Dracula, especially given that Coppola had miscast him so badly; so were The Matrix and John Wick. 47 Ronin comes between those more successful risks, and that risk really seemed to hurt him for a while. He's also done quite a few of the practically straight-to-DVD sorts of movies that haven't helped him, even recently.
He has kinda been all over the place. It's good to see him at a high-pint again (he deserves it), but Hollywood has never quite known what to do with him. The way he commits to projects, he needs good directors who know how to use him (Van Sant, Strahelski, the Wachowskis, even Ron Howard in Parenthood) most effectively. Halle Berry falls into this, too, as has Ian McShane in the past -- and, indeed, Chris Hemsworth.

They need to stop, I just saw the movie and they should call it “Energizer Bunny”, he just keeps going and going and going. Next thing they will have mid air fight scenes jumping out of a high jacked air plane. It’s getting to the point of Stupidity. First 2 were fun, this is just over kill. Pokémon movie might of been a better choice.
