Sestri Levante is a charming town located in the Metropolitan City of Genoa, Liguria, Italy. Positioned on a promontory along the Mediterranean Sea, it lies about 40 km southeast of Genoa. This picturesque locale is known for its two beautiful bays: Baia delle Favole (Bay of the Fables) and Baia del Silenzio (Bay of Silence). The former is named in honor of the Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen, who briefly resided in Sestri Levante in 1833. The town has a rich history, dating back to Roman times when it was known as Segesta Tigullorum. Over time, Sestri Levante has evolved from a tranquil fishing village into a beloved tourist destination, appreciated for its stunning views and serene atmosphere.
