- In this video I give a full in depth tour of a 2008 Kia Rondo LX V6. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
As a KIA tech, I would never own a Rondo based purely on the aesthetics of it, but holy crap if its not one of the most practical small car designs. Doesnt look as good as a Mazda5 (not really much to look at there either) but it offers a V6 which the 5 lacks.
Hey, I know it's 9 years later, but was there anything mechanically that stood out on the rondo?

I've driven one of these and I really liked it. It was the V6 model as well.
The interior looks really upscale for being a Kia
Kia/Hyundai has been doing a great job of designing amazing looking cars with amazing interiors even on the econoboxes.
This 2008 Kia Rondo LX is so cute i wouldn't mind driving it
i enjoyed the tour, as well as them all, these really help when looking for a new car thats for sure.
My dad had a Kia Carens (Name for the Rondo in non USA markets im pretty sure) And he loved its reliability and practicality
I love how people bash this car just because it's a KIA. I'm sure if it had Chevrolet badges, people would say it's good. I thought that in 2010, people were more open minded but yet they still seem to live by stereotypes.
We have an '07 one. We love it! Bring it back to the states!
I've owned the same vehicle from new, except for the colour. I occasionally tow a trailer and have had few problems over the 16 years I've owned it. Only the A/C condenser has had to be replaced and, of course, the timing belt

Remember when the Kia Cee'd was new in Europe it surpriced everyone feeling more expensive than more expensive cars in its class like the Toyota Corolla.
They also have 7 year warrenty, much better than 3 which is the norm, some stick out with 2 or 5.

@saabkyle04 You're right... People don't thunk when they bash a car. I really don't think Kia's the best car out there, but it's a good buy if you're just looking to get from point A to point B and back. If you want that much extra, go buy a current generation BMW 760Li.

here in europe it's called Carens. nothing special but it is quiet practical. it's only available with 1.6 or 2.0L engines...
In Malaysia it's called naza Rondo

@staceylcash This Rondo is not equipped with 3rd row seats. Otherwise It wouldn't have had that extra cargo space under those flaps in the back.
PS Thank you for the video. I pick up my 2009 LX next week. Had I known about the spare place, I very likely would have passed on purchase.

These are my favorite Kia's, cause they look good, and cause they're a wagon. The newer ones witht the bigger rims look better.

Here in Holland the Rondo is called 'Carens' and isn't availeble with an v6..
I have one of these as the family car. The V6 makes it easy to deal with the soccer mom aesthetic though the steering rack is a bit slow.

I partially agree, but you are really overstating that. Its not a stereotype, people dislike the brand because it is not known for doing anything good - yet. If there was no Mustang, F150, etc., people wouldn't know Ford. Kia needs to prove themselves with better advertisements, i.e. Hyundai.

I agree. I am just now buying my 1st Kia (I'm a TRUCK-lovin' lady but need smaller at my age. And yes, it wastes soooo much space.
He spent more time on the RADIO than any of the other IMPORTANT features! I was starting to really like this car UNTIL I saw that the spare tire is mounted UNDERNEATH the car! Who the hell wants to crawl under a car in the pouring rain or SNOW to get at the tire?!! Poorly thought out design there.
You don't have to. There's a nut in the back's first bottom container. Twist that, and the wheel comes down.
Did he tell you, there is a 6 or so inch deep under floor tray in rear with 5 compartments for in car storage. That is something you will use on weekly basis vs spare tire that you will only use once or twice over its life time.

@WoZIMoo The only reason I would ever bash this car is because it is ugly :). I just recently bought my 3rd Kia (2012 Optima). Kia's are great cars, and it's nice that Kia is finally starting to get better in the design/style department!

Grandmother has a 2005 Kia Rondo and I don't like it because it does have anything good in it, and it is not luxury, which makes sad because my grandfather had a 2005 Chrysler Concorde and THAT was a nice car.
kia started making rondos in 2007... unless you live out of north america

we owned a kia sepia that my wife bought new, what a peice of junk, it was only had 50k on it when we sold it because everything was going out.
I have a 1997 Kia sephia and I had it since new and it’s still running strong till this day
No chevy is garbage too
