Observe the eclipse. The ancients looked at people born during the eclipse (the black sun on that guys drum) as having powers of turning into their spirit animals, and giving life to the dead. She was born during the eclipse, and merges with her spirit animal in another eclipse.

Unfortunately, the "black sun" is a symbol first designed by the Nazis in Germany. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Sun_(symbol)
But it's not the symbol used in this video.

@@Astro-Markus false the nazis appropriated many ancient Nordic/Germanic symbols and altered them , there are sun wheels that look very similar to the nazi black sun. And no the symbol on the pregnant woman looks like a Aeghisjalmar variation.

Ah yes, Heilung. They don't do concerts, they hold rituals. Their shows are always special.

Hi: The lyrics for this piece are mainly taken from bracteates: golden, circular coins or amulets found in Northern Europe that date from the 4th to 7th centuries CE. They are often fitted with a decorated rim and loop, which indicates that they were meant to be worn and perhaps provide protection, fulfil wishes or for divination.
The bracteates feature a very significant iconography influenced by Roman coinage. They were predominantly made from Roman gold, which was given to the North Germanic peoples as peace money.
In Anoana, the listener has the chance to delve into a collection of likely encoded spells from the Migration Period and get a touch of magic from the Dark Ages.
The intention of the piece is to playfully reconnect to an incantational language of a period where the North was richer in gold than any other region. Our forefathers presumably enjoyed a time of great prosperity and it may make us rethink how dark these ages real
Above the sign on the womb of the giving birth mother is probably a painted version of Ægirs Hjelm/Aegishjalmur/Ægishjálmr ("Ægir's Helmet"), which is a symbol described in the Poetic Edda as a symbol of ultimate protection, physical, mental and spiritual referred to as protection against all kinds of fear "Ægir/Ægi" means "Sea" in both dialects of Old Norse and is also the name of the personification of the sea. "Ægir's Gate", describes the eddies that drag ships to the bottom of the sea. Ægir / Ægi has often been described as an old man with a long white beard, and to see him standing still in the water was a bad omen, as he surfaced to drag people and ships to the bottom of the ocean. Ægirs Hjelm is described in the Poetic Edda in a stanza with a shape-shifting dragon, Fafner, whose blood is poisonous. The dragon guards a treasure and, with the help of Ægirs Hjelm's spell, is invincible. In The Galdrabók, the symbol is also described as something "you wear on your forehead, between your eyebrows"). In any case, this must be taken with tweezers since it may be wrong.
About the solar eclipse perhaps these images would be connected with the symbol of the black sun. For the ancients, the sun was the source of life, as it provided them with heat and energy. The lack of him was just the opposite. For the ancient peoples, it seems that the periodicity and continuity of day and night made us think not only of the existence of 1 sun, but of two suns, one bright and luminous and the other black. One represented life and the other death. This could be translated as the balance between light and dark and its connection to the world of the dead and the living. In it, the dawn of the day was interpreted as the rebirth of life and its renewal. That is why eclipses were so important for all primitive and ancient cultures: When the sun disappeared in broad daylight, they predicted that eclipses would bring about great changes, or that even in the worst case, the world could come to an end.
As for the drum that Christopher Juul handles and the symbol that is drawn on it, it bears a certain resemblance to the kolovrat and the black sun, but I have not been able to find any that really come close, so the question is whether this symbol, what Have the members of the group created it as something aesthetic for the video, or if that symbol really exists in the Nordic culture, but I am not able to find anything about it at the moment. The answer certainly lies with the members of the musical group Heilung or some archaeologist specialized in Nordic culture.

Can I just add some points that are important in seeing this? The most important being that the child is born under an eclipse (seen in background several times). After the birth you see a circular path of darkness which is one of the possible destinies for the child, and it scares the mother. According to previking believes they (those born under eclipses) had very special gifts: hamnskifte (= the ability to change appearance), age shift, talking to animals, healing (of the bird) etc The previking time and it's religion in nordic countries is much more female oriented than the religion in the later years (with viking gods like Tor and Oden... ). Also healing of the bird. They sing in a reconstructed version of the previking proto norse language.... The bracteates are the starting point for this tale, because they are one of the few "written" recordings of this language. But Sweden and Norway are also full of drawings (hällristningar = rock carvings) as memory of them. Example en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_Carvings_in_Tanum
Caveat: I did publish similar comments to other reactor earlier, but I do think this is important in order to appreciate it

Nail on the head with all your off the cuff observations. Their "costumes" are home made, with materials that would have existed during the bronze, iron, and early middle ages Northern Europe, with some personal touches that help them feel grounded and remind them of home. So yes, very special...and they perform wearing the same attire, every show.

since most everything on the topic of the video itself has been said so far, ill just state that their previous album was about the male spirit, within a village that was forced to war (with presumably the romans) and the warrior. this album is focused on the mother, the lifegiver and the female strength. theyre very deliberate with their topics and themes so this is a great representation of their newest projects soul.

in the Edda there is a text that tells what you see in the video here. According to this, it is the oldest love song of mankind, a love song to the women, revered as life bringers and irrepressible force of nature and Heilung interprets this text very well.
With the Germanic/Nordic "uncivilized" peoples, the women had a higher reputation than comparatively with the "civilized" Romans or Greeks and today women have forgotten to be women and men forget to be men.

    Everything Heilung does is incredible!
Their new song Tenet is taken from a very old magical square and they figured it out and used the formula to create a song that is exactly the same forwards and backwards. !!! Genius 💥

Faun is a German group that combines medieval and ancient instruments with modern influences. Wolf Totem by The hu(Mongolian) is also a great choice. O'Valhalla by Skáld(Norwegian) is epic
I also love your kpop videos... actually why I found and followed you 👉👈

OK, going to take you up on a few suggestions with a shaman type vibe (but not as much as Heilung....but amazing. Aurora is an amazing singer, suggest The Murder Song (5,4,3,2,1)...suggest her live performance at the 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Concert. Also strongly suggest Diana Ankudinova, in my opinion the most fascinating vocalist today, suggest starting with her cover of Wicked Game, or her amazing performance of the Russian Folk song "Rechenka"....both at a very young age (use masks/filters to avoid the copyright cops). You might have to go to her UA-cam channel, as the Russian Govt has blocked a lot of their state run tv content lately. Also is her mind blowing performance of the Elvis Classic "Cant Help Falling in Love"

I interpret it as the male voice emanating all that is wild, dark, fearsome, but she gives life, it’s both sides, and in the end, life must surrender to death, so approach it with vigor.

I find it absolutely hilarious that your name is Pagan and you find it... creepy!!! Hahahaha. Anyway, props to Adam for suggesting this piece.
Maria Franz does such a fabulous job of harnessing the beauty of Chest voice as a Nordic folk singer.
I myself am a Wagnerian Heldentenor (yes, I know that's redundant, bahaha), but even my voice teacher expresses the importance of using Chest voice in the female voice in our rep! Very rarely is it used in pop music, but when it is, think Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Beyonce, and Lady Gaga. It's pretty magical!
Ok... I'd this creeped You out and you want to go further into the rabbit hole, check out the following from Heilung (translates to healing).
    Afhomon
    Galgadr
    Tenet
If you're looking a spiritual journey, meditate on In Maidjan, Othan (Odin), and finish with Hamrer Hippyer. Believe me when I say... you're not going to know how you went through life without this.
Alrighta now to check out more of your content because this is my first time!!!
