Explaining that Delicious in Dungeon is a TTRPG corpse run simulation doesn’t make sense unless you’re in that particular scene. The author really understands what makes a good traditional RPG campaign structure.
As much as I want Rocco to get caught up on One Piece I fear for his collection if he does because the One Piece figures go so hard and there are SO many.
I don't know how else to describe it, but I feel like you'd "get" One Piece. Between your love for ROTJ and silliness/fun of Dragon Ball, I think One Piece's appeal will make itself very apparent to you as something that is both silly and deeply emotional.
Always look forward to this video from you every year. Definitely check out Delicious in Dungeon. It's absolutely right up your alley. Good fun characters, and they drip feed lore that has great payoffs as the series goes.
Ultraman Rising is no joke one of the best animated movies I've ever seen. I was a little hesitant about the design but in motion it works so well and it's full of little faithful nods and expressive details. The art and animation of the movie is breathtaking.
I haven’t been to a convention or expo since 2017 I think. Cool to see all this new stuff around, I started reading Dungeon Meishi in 2015 so it’s crazy to see all this!
Always enjoy and appreciate your walk around vids, especially how you actually show displays and figures close up so we can actually see. Dungeon Meshi is great and involves exploring dungeons, learning about the monsters and how one can eat them, mainly easy going with a bigger story unfolding later. The Ultraman movie I enjoyed, the design and style is different but looks great, the visuals are awesome and they have little homages to Ultraman lore. It also hit me in a different way with being a parent.
I love these vids for two reasons. 1, i love seeing conventions empty, i use to help my father at IMTS and would just be wandering the hall some mornings looking at things i didn't understand. And 2, it's a good physical representation of what my former employer (hot topic) thinks of its more popular brand vs its more expensive brand (boxlunch).
I think you would unironically love both Dungeon Meshi and One Piece. There are bumps in the road for OP and it is probably too long but worth it, and the manga solves most of those issues. Dungeon Meshi is a fantasy series about trying to eat shit like a living suit of armor.
One Piece being “too long” isn’t a proper argument honestly; it’s all ABOUT the adventure & journey and truly taking in that world & it’s characters for all that it is.
The new Ultraman movie is a good entry to Tokusatsu for kids I think. But it has almost nothing to do with original Ultraman lore. It was a fun film but I feel like it’s not for us if that makes sense
As a chef for a living and someone who goes out foraging and collecting wild food, Dungeon Meshi scratches a very particular itch for me in that field. But it really IS hugely popular, so there’s gotta be a very general appeal to it as well for most other people. Also, honestly, if you did want to get into One Piece, you might want to consider waiting a bit until the new “reboot”-ish series comes out. It’s supposed to be update the pacing and animation, so it would probably make it much more digestible for newcomers.
Rocco you really should watch or read One Piece. Manga has way better pacing obviously and is overall probably the better piece of art, but the anime, especially recently has been killing it with both visuals, and adaptations of what seemed like 2 panel moments in the manga.
As a One Piece fan of 19 years who loves to see new people getting into it, if it isn't just a bit (which I know is very likely), at this point I'd say to just wait to see what ends up happening with The One Piece, since if it's good it will essentially replace the old bad anime.
One Piece is absolutely worth getting into but imo as someone who has both watched and read, it's much better as a read rather than a watch, the anime can get pretty messy wheras the manga is consistently just amazing aside from like two arcs that are kinda lame. Dungeon Meshi is also really good, both the manga and anime. It's one for the RPG headz out there for sure
not to make you self conscious or anything but one thing americans do that drives me insane is saying: ah'munnah instead of im going to or im gonna. I love you but you do this literally everytime you say the phrase. if youre doing it on purpose though then great job
Love these vids of you walking around convention halls before they open
You'd definetely like Dungeon Meshi, it's got a perfect level of comedy mixed with story.
There might be a worldwide figure shortage if Rocco ever got into One Piece
Spent over 38 min wondering if this was a video.
I always look forward to these videos, they always remind me of the years attending conventions. Thank you Rocco.
Rocco is looking more animated then the figurines
Than*
Thank you for my yearly vicarious AX experience Rocco

These vids have become my favorite part of summer con season.
Lily & Oscar Kazama
27:07 Ripped a good one right there.
Delicious in Dungeon is rad. Studio Trigger doing fantasy is awesome.

I always love these. Very relaxing, and they feel nostalgic to me for some reason.
One of my favorite series'! I'm bout to sleep but I'll keep this on for the sleepy morning vibes

I swear these videos look so good on an OLED.

I recommend Delicious in Dungeon! It's light and fun.
It’s a fact the Fred Wolf Films Dublin, which produced the famous TMNT 87 series also produced the Toxic Crusaders animated series.
God I remember like 11 years ago when I could afford OmoCat's merch
yeah before she made that shitty game & quadrupled the prices of her “touhou but fucked up” t shirts
Watching this on the treadmill at the gym. Feel like I’m walking along side you x
Thanks for the vid! Missed another year but these always make me feel included.

19:29 I giggled and clapped like a drooling idiot
I would be so down with "Model Making with Rocco Botte." Get yourself a kit, film it and if it fails miserably, make it a bit.
That gum you like is back in style
Thanks for the upload, Rocco
This is the first year I can't attend voluntarily since 2010 and I'm kinda bummed. It's cool to see AX.
4:58 Retro Saikou is always my fave booth at a con, always have good imports for fair prices
These vids are awesome! Thank you for always doing these in con season
dude... yes. as someone who had never watched animé, the pandemic opened many doors
Rocco you as a Food Influencer should definitely get into Delicious in Dungeon
thank you for doing this! my favorite part of con season
Only 1100+ episodes of one piece out, should take a breezy week
Hey, it's those Tekken Bishoujo figures from like eight years ago.
Best type of video ngl
So peaceful
I had doubts going into Ultraman Rising but its pretty good
i love that figs are getting rocco into one piece i wanna hear his random takes as he catches up (if he ever does)
The ultraman film is really good! Saw it with the creators
How does Rocco's security entourage stay out of every frame?! Guys are professionals!
If only we got Ignaxio back...
Blue Lock is actually legit I'm not even into soccer.
Still waiting on the Shawn pop up parade figure or taito one of those

Alright!
Thanks for the video Rocco! Wondering if you’re doing Power Morphicon this year?
You know what it iiiiiiiiiiis
Does the 8-9 ready window help mitigate bad crowds? It seemed like last year was bad for that.
Every year I recognize less and less stuff at this convention. I'm falling out of touch and I hate it.
PIZZA DAYYY

Aint that the poop guy?
yesyesyes
early morning anime... could be real..

I think you should watch Dungeon Munchies
these BTS vids are the best
"Digimon fans sure are eating good"
If only you knew how wrong you are
Thank you for carrying me around daddy uwu

Cameo link?
One Piece is great. Definitely worth a watch even though it will take a while. You can skip filler arcs

You should start One Piece at episode 1000.
You can just binge all of one piece in an afternoon
Yes start One Piece!

One Pace is a great fan edit that really makes it easier to watch for anyone that just started it.
Hate these vids of you walking around convention halls before they open
Aw man
We're gonna have to ask you to buzz off, sir.
Please watch One Piece
First
that ending was really explicit pleasw delete this immediately
Woke mainstream media was the final push for anime. People like stories that don't prioritize political ideology.
Crap ideology*
@@Spawn3X5 Really hoping this is Poes Law
@@ChomeDome let me spell it out
C-R-A-P
That better?
i like watching anime with tons of political ideology, religious ideology & philosophical questions. it’s awesome!
@@Slop_Dogg I love art that has meaning and something to say!
