Just got back from a short trip to FL did a couple of drift dives from a boat and a shore dive from the beach with very light current. I'm not super experienced with drift diving but by taking a conservative approach learning and building confidence slowly I feel more comfortable with those dives.

Glad to hear that you had a great time Kevin Davison. A lot of divers don't really have the realization of how much current there is, espcially if they train in a lake or quarry. Then when they make their first few ocean dives its a shocker for them. Drift diving can be very relaxing most of the time, as it simply pushes you through your dive with minimal effort.

At the beginning of the video here I am thinking "wow Lake Hickory sure has grown!" Great video as always and I would like to take the Waves, Tides and Currents course myself if for nothing else just the general knowledge and understanding. Experience however is another matter.

Thanks dixee6. We teach it quite often in Cave Country. A great place to do it is in the Santa Fe River at Ginnie Springs.

Living and diving in Puget Sound in Washington state has me interested. There are lots of places I'd like to dive but they are very tidal dependant. Does your course teach about diving the tides?

Hello John Montgomery, the SSI Waves, Tides, and Current course we teach does.
