This track was not on the original album though. Only the remastered cd edition from 2005 as a bonus track. It wasn't even on the cd version I had(before 2005).
Ottimo singolo mai comparso su album in studio Solamente in una raccolta antologica intitolata 68/71 E più recentemente inserito sulle ristampe CD di The least se can do Is wave to each Other
It was also on the Charisma VDGG compilation Repeat Performance (my introduction to the band) that also has a rare version of W that I can never find on UA-cam.
Ottimo pezzo ma tengo a precisare che il brano non fa parte dell'album originale cioè The Least we Can Do Is wave to each other ma è presente in una raccolta antologica VDGG 68/71
There is another wonderful piece, by David Tibet's Current 93, inspired by the same theme: it's The Dissolution Of 'The Boat Millions Of Years' (included in the album Black Ships Ate the Sky). I often wonder whether Current 93 took notice of this song, even because of David Tibet's appreciation of early progressive bands (like Comus). And vice versa wheter Peter Hammill has ever be informed about the song by Current 93.
Nor on mine (UK release).....all those years ago. Perhaps it should have been?! I've no idea where this track appeared - maybe on a single with "Theme One" Perhaps it should have been?!
Brilliant album. Love all the songs on this record..

Oh. So much for my memory then.. Its still a great album. Also 68 to 71 is another great record.

Gorgeous, especially the outro.
I saw VDGG at the Lyceum on the Strand London about 1969/70? The support band were new comers by the name of Genesis.
Support band?!! Now, that I like!! Have a great Night!
It's amazing how goth these guys sounded for 1970. Peter Hammill's vocals could fit right in Bauhaus.
Reminds me of Bowie
mike profo - Exactly! Bowie’s “The Man Who Sold the World” era... seems to echo what VDGG were doing around the same time.
Trying to work out which is my favourite track from this album. But they are all too damn good.

great!
@vicpur yes, I remember the charisma tours with van der graaf genesis and bell and arc. wasnt that keen on genesis even then

Oh, #Egypt oh, #Kemet, remember who you are.
There was not this song in my old vinyl THE LEAST WE....

It came from the same recording sessions but didn't make it on the LP. Pretty sure it was the B side to Refugees single.
It was included on the 69-72 Album , a collection of single versions and tracks from The Least We Can Do.... and H to He .....
@@epilobia1 Thanks :)
