Also depends on what the lake rules are regarding frozen or shelf life baits. I'm with you though Leon, shelf life are bang on IMHO.
Great tip with adding lake water!

I've changed over to good quality shelf life for my trips to France. Just as good as frozen in my opinion, and easier. I still do dry them out a bit and refresh them with whatever liquid I fancy when at the lake.
Great stuff as always Leon. :-)
+Mark Farmer good advice Mark and glad you liking the vids
i havent been fishing for a fair few years now and looking to got back into it but on a bit of a tight budget whats the most important things imma need to get cheers fellas
Hi Leon , I am not into air drying if I am honest, I have taken dry bait mixed with my pellets then sealed in a bag - bucket. The pellets help keep the bait dry by soaking up any moisture. Defo add lake water to baits when I get there once opened 12 hours before you use them
another great option to add pellets Graham, thanks for sharing
It's usually red hot when I go so I freeze everything even the shelf life ones as I can take a little bit of English milk and it will keep for a few days extra in one of the ice cold buckets plus I can grab a frozen bucket and give it a cuddle when the sun gets unbearable
+Danny Gleed like your thinking Danny
I even use shelf life in this country👍
great advice there leon im off to france next march for a week at les b ill be on the ssp but my question is how much bait to take and would you take a mixture of pellets and crumb to stodge up your spod mix and would you try solid bags the partical i can get from the owners
+matthew randall inisually take around 20kilo and some pellet and particlew
LEON BARTROPP CARPER thank you leon
How soon should I prepare my freebies before going to France I’m going in July and would like the boiled to be well soaked, also do you have recommended glugs or liquids that are good during the summer times thanks 🐟🎣
Prepare the week before, for warmer times like summer I’d use a mix of salmon oil and something like feedstim XP from CCMoore
Going to Sumbar-Croatia and Bled-Slovenia in september, and i prefer to take all of my bait frozen....
+Giedrius Kiseliunas Bled is a lake I would like to visit
I'd air dry soon as ya can cuz there might be cray fish in there ya never know 👍🎣🎣🎣
I would air dry as much as i could, then maybe add some lake water to a few kg, and add some liquid attractant's to a few kg, also i would ask the fishery if they sell any pellet's or particle's, there always handy as a bulk out bait or an attractant.
+william murray good advice William Thxs for sharing.
1kg of good quality rock salt to 5kg of frozen boilies work's a treet
+Allan Palmer good advice also
