He reminds me of former Leaf Leo Komarov! Leo was a fun-loving Russian kid with a great personality and was very good defensively and even showed a mean streak now and then. If Grebenkin becomes even half the player and person that Komarov was, then I want to sign up to enjoy the thrill ride. I can't wait until his first goal!
25:00 dude, he has to get the red line, he doesnt care if his head is down on this play and he is playing for contact. you think he didnt know he was going to get hit? of course he did, he was making a play to get the puck in regardless of if he gets hit or not, thats hockey. When did we start forgetting this? Sometimes you have to get smashed to make a play, he just has to pick his battles a little better maybe if you are concerned about that but dumping the puck in at the redline is a place to get hit and make a play.
From physicality to size to actual skill and confidence, throw in some personality how do you take him out of the lineup? Is any combination of Robertson or Reeves or Holmberg a better option than him right now?
35:17 you lost the puck and changed your speed, so the impact point changed ever so slightly on the approach and thats what makes it your head and not shoulder.
Actually ... and I say this expecting others to barf all over this ... but AI and Machine Learning may present a tool to get some consistency in how these hits are evaluated. Its a tool that can compare hits based on assessment/attributes and develop a set of comparables that could be used to promote equal treatment. Agree that it would have to be done within current time constraints and that this may not be available quite yet. But I think the idea has merit in its pathway to consistency, repeatability, and explainability.
I'm not dumb enough to argue with O-Dog and Struddy on the legality of this hit - they played the game, I never did. But I did play football, a sport where you light people up. If I want to light someone up, of course my elbow is going to come in and my feet will be on the ground; so that on impact, I can explode into a point a foot behind them where my elbow flies up and I leave my feet to maximize the pain. And when my legs take me up, I'm not targetting the chest ... of course I'm planning to hit that chin. I'm not anti contact, anti fighting, and I don't want to take physicality out of the game. But Whitecloud's intention was to maximize the damage of that hit, likely to settle the score on Grebenkin's hit. Just sayin', boys ... the hit may be legal, but if you want lethal head hits out of the game, you have to rethink those rules.
If you watch the replay reaves was going fotr the puck. He swiped at it and nurse hit reaves withbhis head into reaves shoulder. Nhl player safety is like the liberal catch and release system if your not a leaf. You never know what your going to get. At least if you're a leaf you know you with get the book if you even have bad breath.
What about a 5 minute major for hitting a player already engaged with another player like that? Hit was clean, but the situation reeked of dirtiness and intent to injure by Vegas. Maybe if the first hit from behind is called he wouldn't have tried to unalive Knies. Who knows.
Both the Leafs Goalies are well above .920 in sv pct while leage average is .902. Given the average number of shots faced a night that's like starting up 1/2 a goal every night. That covers up a lot of issues
The team are all play bigger because the team is bigger!!!
Thanks Brad....
10:27 O-Dog’s face and reaction to Hayes saying how Duggie said “ STAY LOUD AND STAY PROUD.” 😂😂😂😂😂😂
This kid needs to stay in the lineup til he gives the team a reason to take him out.

He needs more time in the AHL.
@@salianni16 Uncle Leo was a Finn!

Why is the audio so bad you recoding this with a bucket from Home Depot?????
Part of the injury problems facing NHL players today is the size/height of the players.
Clean hit!
O Dog sheds a tear and his wife says what's up? He points at the TV and says "grown ass men"
Forecheck, backcheck, paycheque is Season 1 Letterkenny. That’s where it got big recently
That is what I was coming here to say. :)
No Berube said it was ruled clean. There's nothing he could say about it.
33:45 the leafs had multiple personalities, Jekyll and Hyde in the regular season and playoffs.
There's an echo with the boys wearing mics
Great lineup,tml,young,Marlies,

Wow, Daniel Jones was guaranteed $81,000,000 at signing.

20:33 hits don't get much cleaner
If Cutlets gets hurt, then Locke will finally get to play

This grinning toothless Russian plays just the way Berube demands from his team.
