Motocross Action Magazine tests the 2023 Kawasaki KX450SR at Glen Helen Raceway. What makes this bike different than a large majority of the factory editions available in 2023? This bike has a lot more done under the hood than bolt-on products. A 4-horsepower gain in power and a higher level of suspension are just two of the upgrades available with the SR. I just bought a 23 about a month ago, I was just wanting to buy a 250 but I bought 23 450SR for what I could buy just a KX250 so kinda a no brainer. The 450 SR had been sitting on the showroom floor for a year. Im 64 years old my last dirt bike was a TM125 almost 50years ago.....prolly aint got no buisness with it but love riding it
That opening sequence up to 1:20 is as rad as ANYTHING I've ever seen on film. Makes me want to shove my laptop off my desk and load the bike up for a rip!!!

It seems worth it. If I were to buy all those parts separately and port and polish the head then it would be way more that $3000. Seems like a good deal to me.

The head is modded on new '23 Honda CR250RFE. Not a Honda guy but thats just a fact Josh missed. It's either this bike or KTM 450SXF factory edition for me . -Michigan
Just picked mine up on 7-25 took it out Sunday @ Cahuilla very impressive and tons of power now its on to tuning the suspension.

Does it have a mellower map setting? I like the add ons but im a heavier guy around 220. I like the stiffer suspension but like riding the mellower mapping on a 450

I'm between this & KTM 450SXF factory edition. Both are incredible. Maybe wait for the '24s. Wouldn't get a stock KX450F . These are both hard to find. -Ohio

Prices of bikes is getting insane, back in 2009-2010 a new 250 could be bought for $5k-6k. Even 250 2 strokes were around 7k not long ago. Wish 2 strokes would come back from all manufacturers and make them competitive like they do the 4 strokes.

always thought those wear marks on the radius of the rear wheel was from tire changing till my son grew to A class speed or there abouts. hes like, Dad wtf

Maxima Pro Plus full synthetic engine oil all the way. Mobil1 4T racing 10w40 is my 2nd choice.

No difference just the suspension changed
Grind 10mm off the top of each brake pad. You now have a 240mm rotor, well, not really but close enough. :-)

What's the hp and torque on this one? Maybe Kawasaki can make a KX 350 2-stroke.
Only thing that I don’t like about the video is the bike has the dam front brake line infront of the number plate the new kawis have a place to hide it behind the number plate now. Seeing the cable shoot up above the number plate every time the forks compress just looked bad u couldn’t keep my eyes off it once I saw it

Just the quality of the Metal and plastics and everything they use just seems cheap. If you really look at a Honda vs Kawi next to each other after 10 hours of ride time.. Kawi's are just cheaply made IMO

Put about 150hrs on my 2022... was still fine when I bought a new one. Yes buying new is cheaper than an engine rebuild.
This is 100% correct Kawi's are crap and the parts do wear out much faster than other brands . Thats why they look worn in and old after minimal use compared to other brands.
@@kawasakizrx1164 The cheap thin foot Pegs, the cheap easily breakable levers, the nuts and bolts that all round off after a few times of tearing the bike down.. I can keep going..I've been working on all manufactures of dirtbikes for about 20 years

What a beauty! 😍 But, they messed it up by doing away with the KYB suspension…Also, it sucks that Team Kawie don’t have two really good riders, otherwise, this bike would be at (or near) the front in our SX/MX championship! 👍🏻🇺🇸

Every bike with KYB I’ve ridden have been more plush than any Showa unit. Even after revalving. 🤷♂️
