A 6 footer shutting down a 7 footer on the glass. Incredible. The raps finished all their defensive stops with a board in this run. Board man gets paid. Just outworked the bucks. Like u said pure heart, effort, will to win and I'd say skill too. Rebounding takes fundamentals that aren't necessarily easy but vital to winning and overlooked a lot and separates winning teams/players from losing ones. Just look at 0:45 Vanvleet moves his feet, gets low so lopez can only try to go over the back, and uses his butt to box out (instead of just shoving). And Kawhi wasn't already in great position on his man so he immediately locates him and faces guards him to stay in front instead of ball watching. I love it
That is because Lopez is soft and lazy. Lots of guys do work against VanVleet on rebounds. Raptors lost a few games last year late cause VanVleet couldn't keep his man off the glass.

just saw this clip on my recommended list and watched it... still giving me goosebumps and its 2024! lol
The chemistry was great.
5:23 Raptors take the lead. I thought kaehi was getting up to celebrate but nope str8 face and sits back down🤣🤣
When you look at the history of champions in the NBA, you can see there are teams that win consecutively and then there are random teams to win here and there like the 2004 Pistons, 2011 Mavs, and 2019 Raptors.
They are usually teams with no crazy duos or trios, no superteams, not much drama. Just a group of players who mesh together so well they beat the odds.
