I think is the way you program the door handle unlock feature. In my case, all four doors unlock when I touch the handle with the key fob in my pocket.
We have a 2017 advance. Really great car. I like having the v6 and corresponding torque. Good honest review here. One comment mpg of other cars, last summer my wife and daughter and I went to California for a week a twice the almost new Nissan Rogue overheated in the mountains twice, so be careful with smaller engines just to get extra gas mileage
Prices have finally dropped on used 2017-2018 RDX around here. You see them selling for same or less than a 2017 CRV! But they always seem to sell before I can get there for a test drive.
I own a 2017 RDX, the part about unlocking back doors with unlock on the door is incorrect. In options you can have all doors unlock or just the front door. Also the center seat belt does unbuckle and tucks away in roof.
Some things I've found wrong with the video... I'm almost 100% sure that all models come with a power liftgate. Also if you go into your vehicle or system settings through the screen. You can change when you unlock the car with your hand to ALL doors unlock. That's the case with my 2015 tlx.
C Toby for the power lift gate, that is what I was told by the salesperson. Maybe it became standard in 2018 model, this is 2017. I'll definitely check the lock feature, that will make me very happy if that can be changed.
I have same suv and same year, but extra side. Molding. The only thing navigation give long destinations routes, won’t give alternate routes. Like one route, I didn’t want to take the ferry, but it keep routing back to ferry as move further away.
Hi! I noticed you have the double screens? Which might be a sign for me that you have the tech package. I’m looking for an RDX in a Santa Monica area and I noticed that the vehicles with no tech package seem to have the Automatic breaking and the lane departure system that label off on the sides near the buttons to the left of the steering wheel, does your RDX come with the Automatic breaking and lane departure system? If so, where can you control or turn it off, because I’m starting to wonder why the higher models with a package don’t have those type of buttons. Is yours equipped with those features?
Hello, I have the tech package but don't have those features you asked about. I believe those came with the Acura Watch Plus package. Don't know if they have that in 2020
Hi, do you still have this car? Any updates? I am looking at this car today (as a certified used car), with about 32K miles and a cost of $28K...thank you!
Hi, I do have the vehicle. I was actually planning an update video so that might be coming soon. Otherwise, I have 27k on the vehicle and have had no issues. 3 services have been done to change oil/filter and check everything. Gas mileage is about 23 combined with about 29 on highway and 20 on City streets, premium gas only. Good luck!
I never commented on road noise but I always thought it was loud. Again, goes to my comment about craftsmanship. If you listen carefully when opening and closing doors, you can tell they are hollow.
Hi, thanks for the comment. I would rate the car average at this point. No problems other than tires need replacing. Have 34k miles on it now. Still not my choice for the new price point, but used it may be worth the money.
@@bdkane721 Thanks for responding. I am considering the purchase of a used one. I know that Honda has a great reputation and I like the looks of this vehicle. Best wishes.
@@bdkane721 I almost bought a used 2017 rdx yesterday. Why do you rate it just average. I have to buy another car b/c my 2008 honda accord coupe which GREAT, I have to give it to my niece who got hit and her car is now totallled. I want to keep my car for a VERY long time, just like my 12 yr old honda. I don't like the look of any of the honda suvs
@@renedutruch4237 Hello, thanks for the comment. My taste in vehicles may be different than yours but I feel that this vehicle doesn't rate high on overall feel and comfort. Still a very good vehicle, but when you buy this one new, it's not worth the money because a vehicle like the CRV is just as nice and $10,000 less. If you find a good used one, that's the way to go.
How's your mileage in the city? I am seriously considering buying an RDX, but it would actually be a 2018. I'd really appreciate you mentioning mileage or anything in particular you don't care for regarding the RDX. Do you use premium / high octane fuel? Thanks!
Ellie's Fur Momma I just bought a 2018 RDX and do far I'm purposely driving it carefully and get about as expected 19/28. I'm using plus gas (89) which is about 30 cents more than regular but I'm thinking it will access more HP. More important to use Top Tier gas. Love the power and smooth transmission of this car.
One trick I love my RDX is the rear view mirror can tilt down when you slide the toggle to either side so you can see the curb. One thing I don't like is the middle armrest is kind of lower and height dimension feels too short.
I have a 2016 RDX Advance with all available options. Love the vehicle. Note: The is NO DIFFERENCE between a 2016 to 2018 RDX except maybe color options. I also have a black on black but of course have the Advanced rims and also fog lights.
I am considering 2018 RDX but worried about long drive seat comfort. I am currently driving 2014 Nissan Rogue, and having seat discomfort on long drive related to lumbar area fatigue and the pressure on thighs, creating leg numbness on long drives... Basically my Rogue's bottom cushion is short and tilted upwards, which creates fatigue... Any thoughts?
Yes, I still have it. About 37,000 miles. No issues. Very reliable. Still don’t feel it’s high quality as they sold me on. The newer ones seem better to me
Regarding the seat belt for middle you brought up; it should be as simple as unbuckling it and tucking it in the space provided for it in the roof. Same as my 2017 Honda CR-V EX-L. I hate to say this too, but after watching other reviews on the RDX, including yours, I'm relieved I got my CR-V. Much less money for more modern looks and integrated, simpler, more functional tech. The CR-V did away with the second screen beginning with the 2017 model. I can't believe it was held onto in the RDX. If they did away with it, there would be much more functionality and options for the center stack. Just my opinion though. Great video review on your beautiful RDX though. Happy 2018!
The rear's CENTER seat belt comes down from the headliner. Once buckled, it is locked in. The way to unlock it is to use a key or the male end of one of the side seat belts. You need to depress a button on the middle seat belt buckle--but that button is recessed behind a notch. Place the key/buckle into the notch, press, and that will release the buckle. You can the connect the middle seat belt to the headliner assembly, so it's out of the way.
You can turn off automatic HDD recording from CDs. It's in Audio settings.
Just bought one this week! So happy!!!
I think is the way you program the door handle unlock feature. In my case, all four doors unlock when I touch the handle with the key fob in my pocket.
I have a 17 Grey Tech AWD. Got it for $16,250! I really like the black.
That’s a good deal. How many miles?

Wes Bromberg , please real mpg-RDX... city (max.)..???
It doesn't have apple car play, did that bother you?
If it’s anything like my Honda Accord, you can program the doors to unlock for all 4 to open.

I have a 2017 RDX & U can program once u open ur front door, the back doors will unlock with just a pull of the handle 🤷🏻♀️ mine does it.
you can program to open ALL doors with key fob and also with hand opening
Chris Brignola same as my 2017 CR-V EX-L.
I need an honest comparison between the 2nd & 3rd gen RDX. I have a 2018 w the V6. Love it. But curious about the 4 banger vs V6.

Premium gas. I would buy the CRV, add all the options and probably still walk away with saving money.
@@bdkane721 How come?! RDX just takes regular gas.
@@waynezhang3969 It does but not recommended by manufacturer

Hey Saul! Hope all is going well sir. Great review of the RDX. Enjoyed seeing it and it seems to have cool features.
You can set the option to open all the doors at the same time when you open t he drivers door - there is an option in the setting to set that.
