I can't change that mostly because it's a result of working solid for 50 years. But will avoid all other taxes as far as I can, buy a classic car and bike so I don't pay road tax or the annual MOT here in the UK. I will distribute my savings to my kids to open Isa's so I don't get taxed on the interest. I will actively seek to reduce whatever taxes I can, avoid congestion zones, parking charges, road tolls etc etc. Let some other fucker pay tax so that I can get paid my state and works pension. While more and more fat, lazy fucks and immigrants take an ever bigger bike of welfare payments.

It seems like every year there's a new batch of 'certs' to pay to get and of course, you have to re-validate those same 'certs' regularly. Men that apprenticed for a year and have been working full-price since, who have continually grandfathered themselves out of needing any further "training" will never understand the problem.
Agreed. I work factory, I technically qualify for a tradesmen journeyman test, that I'll never take because then the list of certs begin all so hr can have an easier job sorting out applicants.
This credentialism is really what is gatekeeping many men from even trying. Laundry lists placed by HR karens make it very difficult to gauge what cert or program to enact on. This is even worsen in industries like tech.

I think the credentialism is yet another example of old men seeing young men (even their own sons) as competition rather than heirs. "I got mine, now YOU won't get yours" and all that. Its pretty sickening. Then add on women in HR using certs as basically a floating "shit test", and you have a recipe for a living nightmare.
The problem from what I see is that society doesn’t want to acknowledge the need for men, and at the same time men realizing their own disposability. The solution in this case is simple, men should seek compensation for everything society expects of them and society should compensate men fairly for their services. And men should not be coerced to make sacrifices. Thats just how I see it.

I'm coming up to my 50th year working, worked hard and progressed my career but now I'm ready to retire. So for the past couple of years I've coasted because I've earned it. All US employees were men, making good monet and traveling the world, all because they work hard, got their degree and were diligent with what they do. I did a 10 hour day, was driving home and got pulled over by a clearly daversity hire cop who proceeded to fine me for driving through an orange light (not a crime in my country) I then proceeded to cook my own dinner and listen to the news complaining about men. Can't imagine why some guys don't want to be more involved in society.
I asked and looked into how to get into a trade apprenticeship like being electrician here in California and ohh boy the application process is long, arduous, and unreasonably tedious whom which is set by boomer union bosses. It would take me around 1 year and thats even if I got accepted into the 5 year apprenticeship program starting around $23 an hour. Not very encouraging for someone trying to get into the trades.
I recommend moving out of CA/saving up to do it and then move when you get confirmation on a travelling crew (fiber is good but there are plenty of national Sparky companies. Just avoid Lakeview Contracting, my personal recommendation) You get to travel, practice minimalism with your per diem and you get paid to learn skills.
The easiest trade to get into is barbering. In most states it’s a one year apprenticeship at a barber college and you simply pay for it yourself so there’s zero red tape. You’ve got to be tested for syphilis though since you’re touching people. You’ve also got to have an eighth grade education. It’s also easy to get a job as a barber because it’s all straight commission with everybody being self employed and doing a 70/30 split with the shop owner keeping the 30%. So you become the shop owner’s biggest customer since he gets at least ten times as much money from you as he does from his most frequent customers so unless you’re a complete asshole he’s never going to get rid of you. I know barbers who make just as much money as dentists.
And they do not face anywhere near the same level of accountability as a man would, they know they're unfireable. I'd rather just work on my own, preferably outside, far away from any women.
I don't understand female consternation over men not working. I'm told gender stereotypes are wrong and the future is female, so it make sense that men are opting out of the provider role and are just getting out of the way.

I can keep busy all day on a house and land. Relearned small engine repair. Relearning electrical when it went unused, carpentry, gardening, soldering. I feel more educated watching yt, paying attention, then doing it. I have to fix everything over non income😊. Opting out and not working for paying taxes is rather fulfilling. I am enjoying nature and it feels good.
I restored an old house with sandpaper and 20 tubes of silicone and 10 gallons of paint. It's one of a kind, probably will be a heritage house someday. Just to rent it out to someone else. The amount of hate and spite I get for that is incredible. Like, I didn't pay an electrician $500 for 5 minutes work therefore I am a bad person ripping off society by not paying HST.

HR came in the shop when no one was around and essentially sanitized the shop of anything they deemed "offensive". I got a disability pension awarded more than two decades ago, for the first 5 years it was kinda fair, but now I am more than fine, and I see no reason to turn down $25k year of free money, and I cannot lose it unless I give it up myself or if the world burns. All my investments, including a few properties are in a holding company, I can gear my payout so it does not cut into my goverment payout and most of the extras, and I can run alot of my expenses through my biz thats basically just a shell for renting out some property and supposedly it does some business in Thailand aswell lol, I spend 6 months a year in Thailand, 6 months at home means maintaining my nice health insurance and some other stuff, and spend time with my kids and soon grandkids, no shame, life is good.

Trade wages have been stuck in the 1980's . . . SINCE the 1980's. Entry level wages should be about $40 an hour to start, with journey level wages double or triple that. If trade jobs WERE paying this much, there would be NO "labor shortage." So . . . schlep 2"X12"X12' treated floor joists up stairs for $20 an hour in the summer heat and winter freeze? Or ask people if they want fries with that . . . for the SAME wage? Hmmm. And no, it's not that fast food jobs are paying too MUCH. It's that trade work (and everything else) is paying too LITTLE.

Guys have worked in dangerous coal mines, hot, dangerous factories with machines and pipes and steam and all kinds of danger, on high rises with no safety anything, in steam ship engine rooms, lumberjacking(multiple times most dangerous job on the planet), caves, mountains, helicopter fire rescue, dive rescue, Alaska fishing boats etc TAKE CARE OF A FAMILY and keep themselves in 10 year old boots with no complaints.
Guys did all of those things, and curiously women weren’t interested in the workplace and were happy to let them earn the money. It was only when working standards improved and we switched to working in offices and from home that women conveniently decided they wanted to be girlbosses
Can't even get a job since they're all in big cities where 50k, the best my STEM degree with 2 years of experience can grant me, can't afford me an apartment for myself. Combine that with lack of friends or gf due to political climate and I've been forced to pass on 3 job offers these last 5 months or so. We're so cooked, burnt even.

They built a wabash plant that builds trailers right next to the Walmart. I ask the cart pusher guy and found out he barely made more than the 10.50/hr i made at walmart in 2010. I think he said he made 12/hr now. I told him to go next door and make 18.50, and get overtime for more, and learn to use pneumatic tools. They will even train you to weld to make even more and you can get as much overtime as you want.

Those "seasoned professionals" have overseen an ever-expanding body of credentialism that they never had to undergo to advance in their professions. It seems like every year there's a new batch of 'certs' to pay to get and of course, you have to re-validate those same 'certs' regularly. Men that apprenticed for a year and have been working full-price since, who have continually grandfathered themselves out of needing any further "training" will never understand the problem.
Agreed. I work factory, I technically qualify for a tradesmen journeyman test, that I'll never take because then the list of certs begin all so hr can have an easier job sorting out applicants.
This credentialism is really what is gatekeeping many men from even trying. Laundry lists placed by HR karens make it very difficult to gauge what cert or program to enact on. This is even worsen in industries like tech.

Spend $5k and get a CDL and earn 10 to 12 a month. Get your Hazmat endorsement and drive placard and earn more.

I remember when I wanted to go into the trades. They wanted 10 years experience to start.
I think the credentialism is yet another example of old men seeing young men (even their own sons) as competition rather than heirs. "I got mine, now YOU won't get yours" and all that. Its pretty sickening.
Then add on women in HR using certs as basically a floating "shit test", and you have a recipe for a living nightmare.

The problem from what I see is that society doesn’t want to acknowledge the need for men, and at the same time men realizing their own disposability. The solution in this case is simple, men should seek compensation for everything society expects of them and society should compensate men fairly for their services. And men should not be coerced to make sacrifices. Thats just how I see it.
Gen-x has to retire for that to happen. We (Gen-x) are still doing things by the old way.

All US employees were men, making good monet and traveling the world, all because they work hard, got their degree and were diligent with what they do. This idea that there are no more opportunities for men or white men is misleading, most of my colleagues were white men. There are still plenty opportunities in the west to be had.

I asked and looked into how to get into a trade apprenticeship like being electrician here in California and ohh boy the application process is long, arduous, and unreasonably tedious whom which is set by boomer union bosses. It would take me around 1 year and thats even if I got accepted into the 5 year apprenticeship program starting around $23 an hour. Not very encouraging for someone trying to get into the trades.
I recommend moving out of CA/saving up to do it and then move when you get confirmation on a travelling crew (fiber is good but there are plenty of national Sparky companies. Just avoid Lakeview Contracting, my personal recommendation)
You get to travel, practice minimalism with your per diem and you get paid to learn skills.

The easiest trade to get into is barbering. In most states it’s a one year apprenticeship at a barber college and you simply pay for it yourself so there’s zero red tape. You’ve got to be tested for syphilis though since you’re touching people. You’ve also got to have an eighth grade education. It’s also easy to get a job as a barber because it’s all straight commission with everybody being self employed and doing a 70/30 split with the shop owner keeping the 30%. So you become the shop owner’s biggest customer since he gets at least ten times as much money from you as he does from his most frequent customers so unless you’re a complete asshole he’s never going to get rid of you. I know barbers who make just as much money as dentists.

I can keep busy all day on a house and land. Relearned small engine repair. Relearning electrical when it went unused, carpentry, gardening, soldering. I feel more educated watching yt, paying attention, then doing it. I have to fix everything over non income😊. Opting out and not working for paying taxes is rather fulfilling. I am enjoying nature and it feels good.

I restored an old house with sandpaper and 20 tubes of silicone and 10 gallons of paint. It's one of a kind, probably will be a heritage house someday. Just to rent it out to someone else. The amount of hate and spite I get for that is incredible. Like, I didn't pay an electrician $500 for 5 minutes work therefore I am a bad person ripping off society by not paying HST.

HR came in the shop when no one was around and essentially sanitized the shop of anything they deemed "offensive". Morale there in my old department is in the toilet, and even my A team guys are just punching a clock at this point

I got a disability pension awarded more than two decades ago, for the first 5 years it was kinda fair, but now I am more than fine, and I see no reason to turn down $25k year of free money, and I cannot lose it unless I give it up myself or if the world burns. All my investments, including a few properties are in a holding company, I can gear my payout so it does not cut into my goverment payout and most of the extras, and I can run alot of my expenses through my biz thats basically just a shell for renting out some property and supposedly it does some business in Thailand aswell lol, I spend 6 months a year in Thailand, 6 months at home means maintaining my nice health insurance and some other stuff, and spend time with my kids and soon grandkids, no shame, life is good.

Guys have worked in dangerous coal mines, hot, dangerous factories with machines and pipes and steam and all kinds of danger, on high rises with no safety anything, in steam ship engine rooms, lumberjacking(multiple times most dangerous job on the planet), caves, mountains, helicopter fire rescue, dive rescue, Alaska fishing boats etc TAKE CARE OF A FAMILY and keep themselves in 10 year old boots with no complaints.
Guys did all of those things, and curiously women weren’t interested in the workplace and were happy to let them earn the money. It was only when working standards improved and we switched to working in offices and from home that women conveniently decided they wanted to be girlbosses
Can't even get a job since they're all in big cities where 50k, the best my STEM degree with 2 years of experience can grant me, can't afford me an apartment for myself. Combine that with lack of friends or gf due to political climate and I've been forced to pass on 3 job offers these last 5 months or so.

They built a wabash plant that builds trailers right next to the Walmart. I ask the cart pusher guy and found out he barely made more than the 10.50/hr i made at walmart in 2010. I think he said he made 12/hr now. I told him to go next door and make 18.50, and get overtime for more, and learn to use pneumatic tools. They will even train you to weld to make even more and you can get as much overtime as you want.
