I didn’t even finish the first one because of how it felt like a chore to do stories that weren’t as interesting. But I might pick this up once reviews start coming in.
Well if you did do the end game its revealed that their stories were actually intertwined albeit loosely. Of course even with that knowledge, one still might have a problem with beating the endgame which even I have yet to do since the final boss is broken.
From what I'm gathering here, with the absence of the Shrines in the 1st Octopath Traveler to gain "Divine Skills" it is replaced by gathering license's via extra side quests and missions within the main game. If my theory is right, should there be a hidden true boss of Octopath 2 like there was in part 1, I assume the grind will be to have all 8 of your characters to have full license's for every damn skill of each other and in the game. To be as diverse as possible to take on the new hidden boss as where Galdera the hidden boss from part ,1 the real requirement was to have all Divine skills equipped and all side missions completed in order to open the Gate of Fenris. This game I'm so so excited to play, and I hope in the future Square Enix will reconsider rereleasing the Prequel Conqueors of the Continent to Switch.
Temenos is a great way to give us a very different healer from Ophelia. He honestly seems....kinda evil. He beats confessions out of people? Ha ha, that's not exactly great. I think our sweetness and light role will be provided by our apothecary this time around.
I hope there is a central storyline that ties all these characters together. That was the great flaw of the last game. Since everyone's story was completely separate from the others it didn't really make sense why these random characters were following each other around.

Personally, I’m doubting they’re her actual parents. I think this thieves guild just calls itself a “family”, similar to a mafia does.
@@gavino5505 So the older guy in the trailer, I guess.
@@miikal5951 Yeah, the mother and father honorifics are definitely callbacks to the godfather title within mafia families (or think 'aniki' or 'big brother' within Yakuza gangs). Throne's 'parents' are the heads of their thieves' guild, and are mob bosses who will no doubt be boss fight characters.
I don't believe either of them will be her final boss fight either. There's always someone else pulling the strings from the shadows, especially when thieves and assassins are involved.
YES no more secondary job limits and no lookig for job shrines oh i wand this game in my hands now but i still cant choose who i pick as my main charactar im thinking of the merchant hunter or thief
After playing Chained Echoes, I wish Octopath 2 has the swapping feature so we can freely swap mid fight to strategize the battle better.
5:03 looks like mother will finally get a beating of her own!! I look forward to this!
hopefully this time the stories are actually somewhat coherent and connected
Awesome Octopath Traveler II Throné & Temenos Character Trailer.
I initially thought Temenos would be some sort of shady cleric, the announcement trailer gave me Yuri from Fire Emblem vibes, but this trailer more so portrays him as good-natured. I guess that makes sense, as he is a cleric, but it would’ve been cool if the cleric was morally ambiguous this time around. Still, this game looks absolutely amazing and Temenos is still in line to become my first pick.
Being an inquisitor and beating up people at night for information does add a bit of ambiguity, at least.
He looks like Cyrus but cleric lmao
@@ronnymahendra9035 cyrus was my first pick in the first game, so you could say i have a type
My guess is that he has a very happy personality, but he's kind of a scary person.
I can't wait to get this and start my play through with Throne!
This is a new high of the pixel art style
Beyond excited for a new octopath! Absolutely loved the first one and the mobile one as well!
ポケモンが進むべき道だったアートスタイル
Great Second
it looks even more gorgeous than the first game, I’m so excited to get to know the characters more 😭😭😭😭
I hope they do a better job of making the characters feel like true comrades to one another, like it's a mutual adventure for everyone, rather than how it was in Octopath Traveler 1 where the characters seemed like they could care less about who they were actually traveling with. It would be nice to get fully developed relationships between characters.
Oh I am gonna be helplessly addicted to this one...
Im so excited for the new characters
I'm so excited can't wait to play this on my PS4
Can't wait to play demo
4:43 Bro that is BROKEN!!
This is gonna be so dope
This is truly amazing. OT1 and Triangle Strategy was amazing, but this one might be even better. The differences between the classes and how you obtain subjobs is also awesome
Wonder if Team Asano will ever release a Triangle Strategy 2. This game looks amazing. So talented.
Hardly considering they didn't even make the first one. Artdink did.
All I want is a chrono trigger remake in this art style
It's not an art style...
@@FuzzyDlop What else would it be?
Never really played the 1st one, but am looking forward to this one.
These two made a surprisingly good duo. It just..... worked. Gameplay and story wise. I would have preferred Osvald to hang out with Throne or Temenos, but what are you gonna do on a budget?
Ok, these two latent powers look busted. I can't wait to use them.
Oh my god the music sounds even better than the first game. Hyped!
Hopefully this time it gets soundtrack of the year
I hope so bc it's a shame that the first one didn't get it
@@nestar2009 I swear man Nintendo should be getting these easily
Kirby
Xenoblade
Octopath
Even the sonic game that came out
Like what did red dead even have that outclassed "the one they call witch"
@@marcthomas5949 yeah! Like Nintendo maybe don't have big visual projects but in the music and art areas they definitely surpass many other games.
Who did Octopath Traveler 1 lose to?
@@ArcCaravan I believe red dead redemption 2
The wait seems so close, yet so far...
Incredibly excited for this game!! 🔥
Played the first one on Switch but now happy to see it is getting a release on Steam as well as kids won't even let me touch their Nintendo Switches.
The first game is already so cool but the second one?? WOAH. The animations caught my eye in particular, also I can’t wait to meet the new travelers! (Though I still have yet to beat the Ruins.. haha).
it looks so beautiful i cannot wait!!! 😭😭🧡
just PERFECT
Nice!
Can't wait to download and play this on my hacked switch!
I liked the original but the fact that none of the stories collided made for a somewhat unfocused journey for me. I hope the characters here are more intertwined.
Man this comment doesnt age well at all
@@fukaze2021 Ha ha, I absolutely love what they did with her, though.
I'm so absolutely stoked for this game. I played the first one to pieces. I just have to do the finale and a few side quests.
I hope there is a central storyline that ties all these characters together. That was the great flaw of the last game. Since everyone's story was completely separate from the others it didn't really make sense why these random characters were following each other around.
I hope the characters interact with each other more.
Literally the only thing that is missed in the game
