Ang ganda pa rin ng kapaligiran during the 70s. The construction boom started in the mid-80s when skyscrapers were starting to appear and open spaces became less. In the 70s, Ayala was just starting to become a commercial district, with businesses migrating to Makati from Escolta. Ortigas Business Center was unheard of since there were only a handful of buildings along that side of Ortigas Avenue - Meralco, Ortigas Building in front of Meralco and Philcomsat. It was literally a field of green na puro talahib at cogon grass. There was no traffic at all. Ang sarap noon because there was no pollution, the population waa low, no beggars and peddlers on the streets, very disciplined people. After experiencing the quiet, clean and simple living of the earlier decades, I sometimes couldn't bear today's hustle and bustle, the noise, the filth and the decadence of morality and humanity.

When I was in HS during the popularity of Hajji Alejandro's music like this, I am one of those who would call it 'baduy.' Now I caught myself singing the Tagalog version as I watch this nice video. I also had fun singing Hajji's other song 'Tag-ulan' or am I correct? Thank you again for this nice throwback video.
Yes @ kabayan joey sarmiento. The hit tag araw, tag-ulan. Adaptation ng charade ng beegees. Baduy dati pero nostalgic ngayon. Thanks kabayan. Ingat lagi tayo sa health kabayan. Hirap ng matanda na… Glad I recovered. Ingat kabayan. 🙂🙏🇵🇭
@Joey Sarmiento Tag-ulan is Hajji's tagalog version of the Bee Gees song "Charade". Panakip Butas' melody was culled from the English song, "The Worst That Could Happen". During our time, baduy ka nga if you listen and sing these OPM songs. Now, we really appreciate and cherish them.
@@leilarecio1093 That’s right. Tagalog Adaptation ang mga songs na yan… At any rate, may nostalgic feeling pa din sya when you listen to them now. Seems like dinuduyan ka sa mga panahon ng kasikatan nyan… Haaaay…

@2:30, Roxas Blvd. now or Dewey Blvd. I will get out from work in Binondo at 5:30p drive to Makati taking Dewey then Buendia Ave. to Ayala Ave. be there on time for my 6:00p COBOL and Fortran Computer class at the 6th floor Rufino Bldg in Ayala, Makati. Now it would probably take 2 hours to make that drive during today’s abominable rush hours. Some of the things we experienced the now generation can only wish for.
