Fantasie over Psalm 42 van Feike Asma, gespeeld door Gert van Hoef op het prachtige Knol-orgel in Hasselt.
Speciaal voor Feike Asma Jr. omdat dit zijn lievelingsstuk van zijn vader is.

Erg mooi gespeeld, een genot om naar te luisteren.

Gert, this piece demonstrates your precocious maturity as an organist. Very hard to play.
Het merkwaardige effect van de wegstervende toon, de nagalm van het laatste moment, waarbij je de indruk hebt dat de toon zakt.
De illusie van het oor, dat nog hard bezig is om dit vol-melodische geweld te verwerken.

It is great to watch your videos because they show so much about the artistry of the organist that the listeners rarely see. We see the changing between manuals, the changes of stops, and especially much of the pedaling. All this is beautifully edited and presented with perfect continuity with the music. Thank you and your team for these wonderful experiences.

The world says, "oh hmmmm….. another piece of pipe organ music." Thank you Gert for making this music so EXCITING !!! Listeners, of course, have to listen to it ALL, of course, to understand. And they should have good sound systems on their computers.
Bij het uitkomende deel heb je de koppel op het hoofdwerk aan staan. Mooier is als ie uit is. Verder geweldig gespeelt
denk het niet, de cornet is alleen maar discant (je hoort hem dus niet in het pedaal). Als je de koppel weg zou laten heb je alleen maar 16' en 8' in het pedaal, omdat er geen koppel is naar het rugwerk.
Het enige 'storende' is nu de prestant 8' van het hoofdwerk. Maar dat soort dingen blijven altijd moeilijk dilemma's in Hasselt met dat gekke pedaal...

I am on the other side of the world from you, but I really appreciate you posting these videos. My grandparents both lived in Hasselt and I can remember hearing this organ... get this 40 years ago! We also climbed the tower and looked out from the tower. Someday I would love to hear you play in person. You have amazing God given talent!

Many thanks. Excellent playing, as always. (But am I the only one who thinks this organ lacks clarity, as it appears on You Tube? In reality, I appreciate, it may well sound much better, but here the sound gets more confused as it gets louder.)
