Retiring Baptist Health Radiology Assistant Gets Gift From Co-Workers

When Amelia “MeMe” Battles retired last month after 44 years at Baptist Health, this beloved radiology assistant at the cath lab at BHMC-Little Rock did not expect what was about to happen before she left her work family. Battles typically relied on public transportation and several co-workers to get her to and from work over the years, so the cath lab team partnered with several cardiologists to collect a love offering of a whopping $9,000 to purchase a used car for her as a retirement gift!
Sarah Wright, the cath lab supervisor, formulated this plan to send Battles off to retirement with a very large heartfelt gesture. Battles recently dropped by her old workplace to show off her new car and thank her cath lab team that has been like a family.
