Thanks Bonnie!! Those are such incredibly nice things to say! That cubby on the floor is actually way more useful than I ever would have imagined. We keep back up linens and also swimsuits and robes down there. Extra storage is a huge plus.
Sorry it took me so long to reply - I missed this somehow! We tuck a napkin in the gap and they don't clink - Nick made the shelves so they would fit just right without being tight and with one napkin in the end they all stay pretty quiet. Lots of other things however are very noise when the bus is moving!!
Your kids are absolutely adorable. Love your bus and the decorations but........parents have no privacy!!! Also, I didn’t see washing machine. Guess you guys don’t want anymore kids? 🤣🤣🤣. Sorry, couldn’t help it. 🙄🙄🙄
Thanks! You are right we don't have a washing machine. We thought about it but decided it would take up too much space and too much water. So we hit a laundromat on travel days. No we are all done with having kids! Not because of bus life though! Just because we are getting old and our family is complete with Juniper.

And I was just telling my husband last night how much I love the mason jar shelves!! They are great storage and I think they are lovely. It was expensive!! But..I wouldn't change it! It makes the bus feel so much more spacious and livable. Yes!! Getting insurance was HARD!

Thanks! The layout took a lot of thinking through but we ended up on something that works great for us! We are thinking about buying a piece of property somewhere to park the bus and maybe also have a small house or a yurt. If we decide to keep traveling in the bus we will need to overhaul the bedroom area.

We definitely don't get a ton of time alone but that was true when we lived in house as well primarily because of our choices around attachment parenting and unschooling. But our marriage has certainly not suffered since moving on the bus - we find ways and times to get our needs met. It does certainly take some creative thinking. But we know we are so very lucky. Perhaps you can find little ways to live this lifestyle without having to completely overhaul your life?
Thank you! I honestly wished we could keep the originals - they have such a fun "bus" feel and they make it so you can see in all directions! But they are so poorly insulated and you can't have screens - and we couldn't make it work with raising the roof. But some people figure out keeping them and I love the way it looks!
It is a good question!! We make it work with a little deviousness. We have a space in the front of the bus - the couches become a bed and there is a door to the back bed area. So after the kiddos go to sleep we are able to hang out up front, play games, watch movies, have grown up time in all the ways. We have certainly chosen a way of life that is full of lot of togetherness and my husband and I have made some sacrifices in our own time for sure. But to us it felt worth it to have more time with them all together when they are small - we still get our needs met and we will hopefully have many years that are just for the two of us.

for the cookstove problem...look up an 'asparagus' pot...it is tall, so has volume, but has a small footprint...great for pastas and soups without blocking the other burners.
If more parents chose your path, the world would be such a better place! It's obvious already, that your little humans are experiencing a life that will lead to capable adults who will have cherished memories, and a family bond that is rare in our modern existence! Enjoy these years!
