Birkes Better resolution,better graphics options,PC exclusives,mouse accuracy,use of any controller that exists,emulators,hundreds of free games,don't have to pay for multiplayer,steam sales,mods, unlimited future compatibility, you're not tied to one online service,unlimited storage space,abandonware, upgradeable hardware...

-Better resolution(all PC games that came after 2010 can be played in 1920x1080 and more [4K] and a lot of games that came out before can be played in 1080p as well,I just played GTA 3 [came out in 2001] and it can be run in 1080p resolution without any problems)
-Every games that ever came out on PC and consoles togheter has better graphics on PC,FACT,because you can not only change the in game graphics options but also using tools[like the ones nVidia provides] and by modding and changing the .ini files.PC games have such a variety of graphical options its insane,such as :,antialiasing,anastrophic filtering,ambient occlusion,shadow quality,texture,effects,chromatic aberation,physicX AND soo many more I can't write them all.At the end you have a superior looking game,consoles just simply do not have the hardware to run games with such incredible detail.There are such ridiculous graphics options like nVidia hair works or dust and particle quality,you can only imagine how much immersion you can have playing a game when every particle has a certain quality level.
-PC exclusives are BAD,ohh can thats not even ignorant,thats just arogant.Have you ever ever seen games such as:Amnesia The Dark Descent,S.T.A.L.K.E.R Shadow of Chernobyl,Penumbra games,Counter Strike,Half Life 1 and 2(I heard it's one of the best games ever created,have you?lol),Dota 2,Warcraft 3,Planetside,World of Wacraft,Diablo 2(also one of the best games ever created).Crysis 1,Thief The Dark Project and Thief 2,Age if Empires,Starcraft 1 and 2,Company of Heroes,EVE Online....those are just some games that I had on top of my mind and these games are insanely good,there are soo many more PC exclusives that are incredible and console gamers will never even touch them and that really really makes me sad.Just the thought of consoles gamers never playing S.T.AL.K.E.R,Diablo 2 or HalfLife it makes me very sorry for them.Of course there are great consoles exclusives and I've played a lot of them just to not miss out on such great games.But to say PC exclusives are bad,fucking hell man,what's wrong with you.

As a Canadian I can say Canada is pretty sweet. We get all the pro's from America with very few of the cons.

I live in Winnipeg Canada and we get very cold winters and very hot summers. Today it's 90 degrees fahrenheit/32 degrees celsius.
I love how honest you are, Johnny. Most reviewers of the PlayStation VR won't mention the low resolution and what not because they're maybe too afraid to say something negative about it. Good stuff.
First-timer's VR responses are the best, as they have no previous conceptions going in, and they're totally genuine.
Can't wait for VR to advance enough to tap into our brain nerves and experience full dive VR.

This exactly what I told multiple people on UA-cam , as referencing that guy who laughed and recorded his friend. Watching VR gameplay and playing it yourself is two totally different experiences.
My brother played it first and I thought the same thing until I tried it and then I was completely blow away

There was a psvr demo at the GameStop I went to. I walked in to get Assassin's Creed 1, and found that the shelf of 360 games was blocked by a giant VR area. I didn't try it though...
You can see why they need the Neo. This will sell well so I don't think they need to worry too much. Plus,give it 18 months after release I bet they have Neo plugged into a new headset.
The VR is really designed for PS4 Pro hat is why the resolution was not very clear using regular PS4

Sounds great. Kims reaction made me think of when the first cinema film which was of a of a train pulling into a station, was shown in Paris in the 1880's, some frightened audience members screamed and left their seats, thinking the train was going to hit them. New technology eh?
the psvr resolution is on par with the vive and rift. PSVR uses oled rgb displays so the screen door effect isn't even noticeable once you start playing.
Wow! I can't believe they had you try Eve Valkyrie as your first experience. That's a very motion heavy game that some people who already have their VR legs struggle with motion sickness. I would have put you in Superhot, or something more static for your initial try. Glad to see you covering PSVR on the channel! I'm a long time gamer and VR has given me the most incredible gaming experiences I've had in my life. I rarely play anything else these days, there's so many great games now! Thanks man!

I always tell the people who never tried the VR before and bash it badly just because they think it is a mimic, go and try it.
I did last year, and I was blown away and pre-ordered one from Amazon the minute it poped up there (it is out of stock now though).

So it sounds like PSVR is a reasonable mid entry VR experience which I think is pretty much the best we can hope for considering it's on a console then a high end PC.
I also want to say that I've been following this channel for a bit now and I have to say I admire HCG's genuine enthusiasm for games which makes his videos a joy to watch.
The biggest thing I took away from this was EVERYONE was sitting down with a controller. I think this is a much more realistic view of the future. Most other Tech demos Ive seen you see people walking around their rooms and stuff. Most people will do that for the first few times they play with their VR and then never do it again. I'm much more interested in VR improving the way I already play rather than Changing the way I play, I think PS VR is more in tune with that than most of the other sets.
Agree about the resolution and pixilation being noticeable. Iv only had experience with the psvr gear but its clear that the resolution is more blown up. So strange and true also that it takes nothing away from the immersion when it really should. You still feel "there" its freaking awesome. For the price its a dream come true to be given the chance to experience a totally different reality to this one. Love the comment about experiencing it yourself before mocking anyone who uses it. Its actually nothing what it looks like on a tv NOTHING.
Keep in mind we have not seen the neo versions of these titles yet. It can most likely help with the lower resolution images. Though we will have to wait and see if that's the case.
I played on HTC Vive before, and when I got to test PS VR the lower resolution and blurry ness you're talking about really made a big difference for me, I didn't remember the Vive looking so bad to be honest, but I did play different demos
the guy at 4:50 is the same one that set up the demos at my eb games! Really did not expect that haha!

Same thing happened at my Best Buy the only difference is was that Sony WAS there but Best Buy employees had no idea they were there.
I tried the HTC vive at my local gamestop and was really surprised on how fun it was. I was never really into the virtual reality thing, but its just one of those things that you have to experience yourself before making a decision on it. On a side note, the lower resolution on the playstation VR does worry me a bit. But even with that, I really want to give it a try as well.
Wow I had the same experience with my girlfriend, she hates sharks, and it scared her so much!

Ok so I watched the first 20 seconds of this video last week. Once you said Canada i left the video googled PS VR DEMO CANADA. Calleed the boys and we left for the city the next day! Simply amazing and so glad i got to try it! Here i am now a week later stumbling on your video realizing, this is why i tryed vr. The first 20 senconds of this video. Thank you HappyConsoleGamer!

I've had my HTC Vive now for a month. But to be honest, once the wow factor dies down, you realize how shallow the games really are, and you get tired of them pretty quickly. Also the resolution is a negative as well. It didn't bother me much in the beginning, since I was so wowed by the experience, but now it's pretty annoying, as things in the distance is just a blurry mess, and it can be pretty hard to read text at times.
I would recommend waiting for a generation or two, as it still feel a little bit like a prototype.
And maybe two-three years from now, we finally get some true AAA games, that doesn't feel like glorified tech demos.
did kim mention how it felt to use the headset while wearing glasses ? that's one thing that worries me as I always wear my glasses
That the problem with headsets, 4K rear projection baby, that's the ticket.
My friend (he wears glasses) played it while we were at a convention and had no problem whatsoever. He didn't even think about until I asked him about it.
I played the samsung (occulus rift) from my friend and i didnt need my glasses, you could adjust the headset till the picture became clear
She took hers off, she wish she had more time to adjust but felt rushed by the demo wait

We're getting closer to living the illusion..Or are we already living it? last console i bought was the original xbone. following the crowd is usually the easiest way to lose money.
they also stated that the resolution would be lower. one of the reasons it's cheaper and doesn't require a 1,500 to 2,000 machine to run it. it's supposed to be the affordable VR. which means isn't going to have lower quality
I thought I read that the PS4 Neo will support the full 1080p instead of the 720p from the current PS4. That shark game is a cool concept, I could see getting a bit freaked out too lol
Actually both Sony and Olympus had HMD before this, I got to try the Sony ones at the Sony store before they closed the one in SF. It was only 1K display but still ok. So, not new tech at all, but interesting to see what it will become. Personally I think VR dome booths are the future , higher resolutions are possible with dedicated hardware and using non-console hardware.
I've ordered one, since I have a ps4 camera and move controllers anyways. I love VR so far, the wind waker is really cool in VR! :)
The reason that the graphics are lower then on screen is it needs to split to your tv and vr
if they keep the high resolution they had problemes with the programming and ps4 will be overheat and other reason can be to make you less dizzy and ill
The good thing about playstation VR is that they can provide the whole package: Console, Camera and Move controllers. This really creates an awesome experience for developers who pretty much know what to expect. And this in turn should result into well optimised VR games. My prediction for would be that playstation will be able to create to most integrated VR experience of all the different platforms. Ease of use has always been a console asset and this should help playstation combat their stronger PC rivals.
That's actually the problem with PSVR is it doesn't come with everything out of the box you need to complete the package. The HMD , camera and Move are all separate purchases. So in the end bulk of developers will cater for the largest audience HMD + Controller.
I think it's funnier watching people playing with the PS VR than actually playing the VR games

there wont be a lot of people there simply because the mainstream people don't know anything about VR or that it is BACK, the main stream and casual gamers are the people who make devs and companies who make consoles money
Just bought an oculus, can't wait to try it out. Mainly for seated experience like Iracing and flight sims.
I tried PSVR it was awesome!!! I did indeed notice the screen door effect and it was blurry also lots of jaggies.I was easily immersed and feel in love with VR.I do however have a high-end pc I built myself with a gtx 1070 , so I'll be getting the Htc Vive!!
I'm excited for PSVR and I will probably buy it when the price drops. I admit being dissuaded by comments about the resolution but I think most of the scathing comments come from people who are able to access the higher end PC market and have the luxury of being so critical. I'm happy that it works, it's good and that there is a future for people who want VR but can't yet afford the quality that comes with the Oculus and the Vive.
this looks like the next step in video games. Rather than having the game screen in front of your eyes, you are inside the 3d world of the game. You can look around and behind. This looks fantastic. Imagine GTA or DOOM like this. I want one!

Best Buy in the states do not have Sony VR demos until Oct. Some do have Rift demo.
Depends where you live. I tried the psvr demo last week at a best buy, with about 12 other stores(including gamestop) within 20 miles also having it over the weekend
I have a pc, so oculus or vive for me, but in my latest vacation to the US I was able to try the playstation vr, and I gotta say it really was another experience completely different to what I have tried before, and if the ps vr looks so good I can only imagine what vive can do..
I heard the game you tried would have just as easy worked without VR because of the controls and that there were other games that would've have helped to sell it much better like what Kim was trying for example and the Heist game.

I had a go on the heist, the deep and a couple of other demos last year...great fun, but my main feedback was display resolution needed to be a bit higher! They clearly haven't changed it :( i still want one though :)
I think this is not the future of gaming but a new way of gaming like you get PC, consoles, ntendo, hand helds, now you get VR
Whoa, EB Games over there are way bigger than the ones here.
They better have filtering in these glasses otherwise eye cancer. HD phone screens have UV light, and you can get a TAN from cellphone and tablet screens.
I cannot waiz till release. VR will be the future of first person games.
All the PlayStation vr is, is a head tracking unit... Hence why it needs the camera. Considering it needs the camera to be used, and isn't sold with it, it's not feasible for everyone.
I hope the make big games for VR because right now they all are like mini games.
I'm glad to hear your experiences. Until VR is more accessible and can fix the headache/dizziness issue some people experience with VR, I don't see it being successful.
Not until they ditch the small headset and headphones. Think 4K rear projection and surround sound.

well, if you're getting the PSVR headset, it'll come with a demo disk that let's you demo Eve Valkyrie along with seven other games... so there's that :)
It looks cool, but I'm not getting VR until there's a real way to move around freely in 3D space.
im sold. don't care if its a little lower res. Judging from what I saw. looks pretty good! also in the future they will improve the graphics when the developers get to know the neo better.
hey johnny I think you forgot that the ps4neo is coming out right around the same time as ps vr and that is why they are upgrading the ps4 its due to the power demands of vr. I bet u that games will look a lot sharper running on psvr

I would have to disagree, I have tried them both and even my buddy that has a Vive agreed with me that there is not much difference between the two they are about the same. I'm getting the PS VR looking forward in having one of my own. I hope all VR does well and grows.

VR in general looks amazing to me. I noticed the VIVE screen, your point of view, is a bit shaky at times even when you're still? At least from videos I've seen
